Lin Xiaofei's wide eyes stared back at the pairs of eyes staring at them with a similar expression on their faces, their mouths were wide open, to which Lin Xiaofei found hilariously ridiculous. She tried to push Qu Xing Xu's chest as she tried to get off of him but the latter didn't let her.

Lin Xiaofei rolled her eyes and whispered against his finger, "Perfect scenario? By letting them think that we are doing something inappropriate?"

"Inappropriate? I don't understand what do you mean by that." Qu Xing Xu continued to feign ignorance. "Would you please kindly elucidate what you mean by inappropriate?"

Lin Xiaofei clenched her hand.

Not being able to contain her anger anymore, she raised her hand to slap him but Qu Xing Xu caught her wrist before her hand could make contact with his face.

Ahh… It seems that his little tigress is starting to claw at him now. Qu Xing Xu mused inside his mind.

"Qu Xing Xu, please don't forget that we're only doing this for our plans and nothing more. So, don't create troubles for me." Lin Xiaofei hissed and tried to make sense with him.

"Don't worry, I will make sure that no trouble will make its way towards you." Lin Xiaofei wanted to speak that the trouble she was speaking of wasn't what he was talking about, but Qu Xing Xu was faster to say, "You're going to be my bride soon. Fear nothing as I will be there for you."

Lin Xiaofei silently stared at him and didn't know what to say after what he had said to her. His words were like a binding spell on her, keeping her from running away.

She didn't even know if Qu Xing Xu said that because of the contract or did he utter those words out of what he really was feeling which was unbelievable to Lin Xiaofei.

She stared at him for a good few seconds before tearing her eyes away from him. However, because of her little actions and not hearing any rejection from her lips, Qu Xing Xu smiled brightly.

At least for now, his little bride has started to accept him.

"Shall we go?" Qu Xing Xu asked her after a few seconds of silence passed inside the carriage.

Nodding her head, Lin Xiaofei finally could get off him after he let her stand by herself.
