The next day, Lin Xiaofei woke up earlier than usual. Her maids weren't even awake at that time as they didn't expect her to be awake so soon.

Ever since they served under her, Lin Xiaofei would wake up later than the whole Lin family and they had to wake her up when she was needed by Lin Xiaomeng.

She tipped her head back and let the taste of alcohol burn her throat. She didn't have any intention to get drunk before she arrives at the Fourth Prince's residence but a few cups shouldn't do any harm.

"Aren't you a little bit too early to drink?" A voice sounded from behind her. Lin Xiaofei didn't have to turn around to see who it was since the only person who would dare come inside her room without announcing his presence was Qu Xing Xu.

Lin Xiaofei didn't reply and poured herself another cup of alcohol.

"Are you drinking because of Yu Fangzhu?" He suddenly asked as he got even closer to her.

The hand that was in mid-air, an action that she did to bring the cup to her lips paused. 

Lin Xiaofei felt somewhat scared that Qu Xing Xu found out who she really is and what she was planning. However, the possibility of him knowing that she was someone else inside another's body was close to nothing.

Thus, she answered, "I'm about to meet the man who sent assassins to kill me. Anyone would try to drink some alcohol to clear their minds up."

Qu Xing Xu was now sitting beside her. He eyes the flask in between them and said, "Anyone would cower in fear and not bravely sent a letter of visit to the man who wants them killed. But it's only you who can drink so calmly."

Turning her head to the side to look at him, Lin Xiaofei smiled. She then said, "Maybe so. I'm one of a kind after all."

Out of the millions living in this world, Lin Xiaofei considered herself the only person who got lucky and unfortunate to be transmigrated. If there was another of her kind, she might never meet them in this lifetime.

Lin Xiaofei expected him to come to her last night. Gu Yan must have already reported what she had done to him after delivering the letter. But Qu Xing Xu chose not to appear in front of her and only waited until morning arrived.

But still, she hoped that Qu Xing Xu would stop entering her room as if it was natural for him to come unannounced.

Qu Xing Xu could not disagree with her words. If Lin Xiaofei was an ordinary woman, he wouldn't even try to look at her. It was her ruthlessness and the mysterious aura that surrounded her that made him attracted to her. 

"Should I come with you?" Qu Xing Xu was asking if he should come with her to meet Yu Fangzhu. 

Although he didn't know if she was being too fearless or stupid for meeting the man who wanted her dead, Qu Xing Xu knew that she probably has her plans all along. 

It was just that he didn't want her to go to the prince alone. He trusts Lin Xiaofei not to look at Yu Fangzhu with infatuation that many of the women in the capital used to look at the prince, what he couldn't trust was Yu Fangzhu. That prince might think of something else to do to wrap Qu Xing Xu in his hands.

However, Lin Xiaofei thought otherwise. Yu Fangzhu wouldn't be so bold as to launch another assassination in her way. He wouldn't risk what he worked for and he still needed Qu Xing Xu in order for him to become the emperor.

So, she decided to speak after a few seconds, "No. Your presence shouldn't be needed when I visit the Fourth Prince's residence. Besides, don't you have any work to do?"

Qu Xing Xu was startled at her answer and felt disappointed. But she was right. His work has been piling up and Gu Yan was the only one who was helping him take care of it.

"Give me the cup." Instead of insisting to go with her, Qu Xing Xu suddenly told her as he held out his hand.

Lin Xiaofei gave him a stare when he added, "I wish to drink as well."

Hesitating a little bit, Lin Xiaofei drank the liquid on the cup before she finally gave the cup to Qu Xing Xu.

But Qu Xing Xu didn't pour himself a cup of the alcohol. Along with the cup, he wrapped his hand around the neck of the flask before throwing it to the side.

Before Lin Xiaofei could get angry after he threw away her drink, Qu Xing Xu erased the distance between them, and without a word, he leaned forward and captured her mouth.

Lin Xiaofei stared at him in shock as he pried open her mouth and let his tongue briefly touch her tongue.

He quickly withdrew even before she bit him and said while licking his lips, "Such an intoxicating taste. I should get some more of that alcohol later."
