The Birth of a Villainess

Lin Xiaofei felt her body shivering under his gaze. It wasn't the unpleasant kind of shiver that she felt whenever someone she didn't like looked at her. However, it wasn't also a good thing being stared at by him as if she was a treasure he must have.

It was one thing to be looked at because she possessed a peerless face but being stared at warmly and affectionately was another thing.

Now that she sees it from him, Lin Xiaofei could tell how different Qu Xing Xu's gaze was compared to Yu Fangzhu's.

Yu Fangzhu stared at her as if she was his enemy that he needed to deceive. On the other hand, Qu Xing Xu's eyes looked at her as if he had nothing to hide from her. His desire to have her was visible in his eyes and his words and actions were the proof to show how much he wanted her in his life.

Snapping out of her thoughts, Lin Xiaofei realized that she had been staring at him and the rush of blood immediately went to her cheeks.

She quickly blinked her eyes and looked away from him. She turned her body so that her hand would no longer be in his hands and said, "I think this is enough. The cut's not that big and you did a great job cleaning it."

Qu Xing Xu chuckled and let her go this time. "I heard a very interesting rumor by the way."

When she heard him, Lin Xiaofei couldn't stop her eyes from moving to look at him again.

She had that same look as if she was staring at a bug.

After being stared down like he was some type of a bug, Qu Xing Xu returned that look with a smile. He didn't mind it one bit that he was being compared with a bug.

Seeing him use that same smile that could make any woman fall to their knees and worship him, Lin Xiaofei sighed. Thankfully, she was already immune to his beauty and didn't become one of his willing victims.

But she can't say the same to the original host.

As far as she knew, the original host has completely fallen for the duke of Xin that she would constantly lose her consciousness when she sees him. It wasn't widely known by others, but this fact wasn't completely hidden from everyone as Liu Shishi knew about it.

And by this time, another person got to know about it and the worst of them all, it just had to be him.

"What rumor?" Lin Xiaofei decided to concede for once and went along with him.

It was better for her to get used to him now that she couldn't escape from their marriage.

Besides that, it doesn't look like Qu Xing Xu would let her go so easily after what they shared with each other.

Qu Xing Xu stood up and walked around the room as he said, "Apparently, there's a rumor going around the market and every household in the capital." He turned around to face her and continued, "The rumors were saying that the beloved concubine of Yu Fangzhu got into an accident where she cannot go out for a month?"

Lin Xiaofei was silent for a moment before she said, "That's really unfortunate."

"Really?" Qu Xing Xu couldn't believe her saying this and raised his eyebrows.

She nodded and sighed regrettably, "Yes. I was planning to invite the concubine Shang to the wedding. I even personally told her that she's invited when I met her earlier. It is quite regrettable that she won't be able to attend."

With Qu Xing Xu trying to rouse and provoke her to react to his words, Lin Xiaofei feigned ignorance and acted innocent.

"Indeed."

"You agree with me?" Lin Xiaofei asked and before he could reply, she continued to say, "Then, why don't we postpone the wedding until next month? She will have a full recovery by next month and can attend the wedding."

Suddenly, Qu Xing Xu fell silent and the smile on his lips vanished.

He walked towards her again and this time, he didn't try to sit on the bed beside her but only stood before her. He was taller than Lin Xiaofei and with her sitting and him standing before her, she had to look up to see his face.

He didn't feel good that every single time, Lin Xiaofei would try to postpone the wedding.

"Why should I postpone my marriage because of an insignificant person I didn't even know existed until I heard this rumor from Gu Yan." Qu Xing Xu's lips tugged upward into a wicked smile.

"Concubine Shang would be saddened if she heard you speak to her like that." Lin Xiaofei said.

Not only concubine Shang would be saddened and angered with his words, anyone who heard him will be provoked.

Qu Xing Xu shrugged, "I don't care. She can stay in her bed forever. And better just yet, I'll send her a coffin to use for her early death."

Qu Xing Xu already heard what happened inside the fourth prince's residence. A mere concubine trying to act high and mighty towards someone of high status were not rare as several concubines have already tried to worm their way to become the master in the inner courtyard while their husbands do their jobs outside.

When Qu Xing Xu returned to his room, Gu Yan has been waiting for him. The old man was standing on the side with his hands behind his back.

Gu Yan had the urge to shake his head at the poor state of the hidden door that was torn apart by his master. It seems that he needed to call back the carpenter and some men to put the door back.

As much as he wanted the two of them to be harmonious and grow their feelings for each other, he cannot let his master lose his control.
