The Birth of a Villainess

When Fu Xian heard her, she couldn't stop herself from raising her head in shock.

However, Lin Xiaofei didn't care about her as she continued, "Why do you look so shocked? Shouldn't this be within your common sense?"

"B-but you gave me a way to get my revenge."

Lin Xiaofei circled around the maid and replied nonchalantly, "Correct."

"Then--."

"But I'm not doing this to help you." Lin Xiaofei stopped walking and faced the back of Fu Xian. "I am no good samaritan nor Buddha to just forgive and forget. Or could it be that you completely forgot what you did to my grandfather?" 

"That is quite shameless of you" She said this while leaning forward to her ear.

"I… I only did that because the princesses threatened me! I know I was wrong and I'm so sorry. Please, have mercy and spare me!" Fu Xian finally understood that she was being used by Lin Xiaofei.

In order to become the fisherman, Lin Xiaofei baited the fish, Fu Xian, with the truth that her loved ones were mercilessly eradicated by the princesses. Thus, this only earned her hatred towards Princess Gao and Princess Zhou, and ended up striking her hand against these two princesses.

But not only that.

Lin Xiaofei never even considered forgiving what happened that night, no matter how much Fu Xian repented and asked for forgiveness.

Naturally so. No one would be so forgiving in front of the person who tried to poison their loved ones and Lin Xiaofei was the kind of person who would never let go once she took a bite.

However, Fu Xian never thought of Lin Xiaofei to be that kind of person. In her eyes, Lin Xiaofei was like an angel: beautiful and compassionate. This kind of person will surely show some sympathy towards someone who was facing a hard time and was only forced to do some bad deeds to survive.

Truthfully, Fu Xian was never threatened by the princesses. She was only given a huge amount of money and promotion when this task was offered before her. She was also not the only one who was offered by them, there were four other maids who were handpicked and given a choice.

Unfortunately, no one was courageous enough to accept the task even if the reward was bountiful. They just didn't want to be involved with this kind of situation as it was too risky and knowing what kind of place the palace was, they became more suspicious hence, no one accepted with the exception of Fu Xian, who was blinded by greed.

This is what they call karma will bite back when one less expects it.

"Will your sorry be enough to repay your sins? Will it bring back your dead family and erase the fact that you poisoned my grandfather?" Lin Xiaofei hated people who think that everything would be solved with a simple sorry.

If it were so, then, there will be no war and unjust death. Grudges won't be born and people will walk on the path of flowers with no thorns.

And she wouldn't be here to make her enemies pay for what they did to her.

Thinking about her enemies, Lin Xiaofei reminded herself not to laze around and just take everyone down in one fell swoop. Because of her reluctance to move quickly and suddenly, her enemies were now getting closer to her. Not a bad thing but still, she needed to do something about them sooner than later.

Being lost in her thoughts, Lin Xiaofei grew silent and Fu Xian was now getting more nervous. 

She couldn't bring herself to turn around and face the lady behind her. She could only wish that Lin Xiaofei didn't see through her lies and let her go.

"I know I am wrong and did things I shouldn't, however, the young lady's grandfather is still living. On the other hand, my family and lover are now gone. Please show some mercy and let me go." Fu Xian really tried her best to survive.

She even started to kneel to show her obedience to Lin Xiaofei to show the sincerity in her words. 

But she forgot one thing.

A mistake in her part.

Fu Xian was still bathing in her fake show of sincerity and submission that she didn't feel the cold air that started to flow out of Lin Xiaofei. However, there were two people who were able to sense the changes in the air.

It was none other than Jimo and Shen Mo, who were hiding behind the stacked old wooden boxes inside the shack.

Idiot. Shen Mo clicked his tongue in dismay. He was already used to Lin Xiaofei and knew that she was so sensitive these days and adding what happened to General Lin, he could already tell that Fu Xian was now stepping on a landmine.

On the other hand, Jimo's little finger twitched at the sinister aura from Lin Xiaofei and swallowed his saliva. 'Scary.'

"And what right do you have to compare our situation?" Lin Xiaofei had enough of this farce and ruthlessly said, "In the first place, you poisoned my grandfather and he was hovering over death while your family was killed by the princesses. I did nothing wrong to you and you think just because my grandfather's alright, everything is forgiven."

"You disgust me." Lin Xiaofei coldly said.

Realizing that her words backfired and now, she was in a dangerous situation, Fu Xian tried to regain her composure and tried to hold on Lin Xiaofei's legs.

Fu Xian cried and said, "I'll tell you everything I know! I know why Princess Gao wanted to mess with the Lin family. It was to make Duke of Xin back off from the engagement!" 

Lin Xiaofei only coldly stared at her and replied, "I know." 

Knowing these wicked ladies living inside the palace and the target of their love, she already expected them to do something. It was just that she was caught off guard that day because of the arrival of the two princes and because she didn't expect the princesses to target her grandfather thus, she didn't notice their plan.

Nonetheless, this maid, Fu Xian, cannot remain with the living. Lin Xiaofei thought to herself.
