The Birth of a Villainess

Qu Xing Xu knew that the Bai family thinks that he should be thankful for their efforts in the past for making him the successor as the next duke when the title could also have been passed to others. There had been too many people who were eyeing the title as a duke for many years and since he was just a young boy that time who had no real power, one would think he wouldn't be suitable to succeed.

That was also what the Qu elders thought at that time. 

Although the elders weren't working with the Bai family and even hated that ridiculous family, they never considered Qu Xing Xu as the next heir to the title despite him being the son of the previous duke. After all, what could a little boy like him do? Will he even be able to grow up valiantly like his grandfather? Or maybe, he will be just like his father, a waste of a man and time and breath.

And that was why when he was young, Qu Xing Xu had to prove himself to everyone who tried to invalidate him and try to mock him. He went to war when he was only twelve with his grandfather, the first and last time he would get the chance to do it with him, and won meticulously. After his grandfather died, Qu Xing Xu continued to go to war and beat his enemies to ground thus, making him the current and only God of War that was feared by the four other empires in the country.

But still, the Bai family thought that all of his victories and achievements were all due to their support for him, making them quite big-headed and arrogant.

Chuckling at the Old patriarch Bai's proposition and threat, Qu Xing Xu smiled and said, "I always thought that you're growing older, but I didn't know that you never really changed, do you?"

Old patriarch Bai glared at the youth before him and heard him continue.

"You even got more disillusioned than before actually." Qu Xing Xi shook his head disdainfully as he walked closer towards the brazier next to the dais. "You even influenced your descendants to be just like you. Just like an old saying, a fruit never falls far from its tree."

"After coming here so late, did you really come here to just spout nonsense, Qu Xing Xu!" Bai Shuang shouted, pointing his finger at him. His breath coming short and faster with anger.

"Of course I did not come here for idle talks." Qu Xing Xu suddenly said. He turned to the brazier next to him and put his hands atop the blazing fire, the orange flame barely missing his hand. "Didn't I already tell you why I came here? I came to collect something..."

The Bai family waited for him to say what he was going to collect. Was it money? Was he going to make them pay for what they did to Lin Xiaofei? 

The Bai family continued to list down the things they did secretly to antagonize him. If one were to get a closer look to what was in their minds, they would be so shocked at their discovery. The number of sins they committed against Qu Xing Xu could fill up a whole treasury. 

Just when they could get agitated and get tired of waiting, they heard him say, "Most preferably, your heads."

A moment of silence.

Another silence…

The moment his words landed, every person in the room didn't utter a word, much less try to make a sound. They all scrambled into an utter mess of silence and fear like a metal grating against their skin, peeling it off and letting their blood drip down coldly to the ground.

The female members of the Bai family trembled as if a thin twig against the stormy wind in winter. The male members, on the other hand, some of them were staring in shock at Qu Xing xu after he said those words, while most had their faces wrinkled as it turned white like a sheet of paper.

Their heads?

He's here to collect their heads?

"What's with the fearful faces?" Qu Xing Xu asked with a smile but also not a smile, "Weren't you all taking pleasures in receiving the message from the assassin you sent to kill Xiaofei? Or perhaps, did you think I would reward you handsomely once you got what you want and killed her?"

"Fools." Qu Xing Xu added in the end.

Bai Yu who was already kneeling on the ground. He remembered that just earlier, he proudly claimed the man before him as his brother-in-law yet, this man was not having the same thoughts as him. 

"Qu… Qu Xing Xu, what are you talking about? Our heads? Do you even know that if you did that the whole world would question you and persecute you for killing us?" Bai Shuang said.

Qu Xing Xu simply raised an amused brow, "The whole world? I have only one world and that is the woman you tried to murder tonight. I don't care about the world you humans are living in. They cannot question nor persecute me."

"That woman?" Bai Shuang was surprised. He didn't think that Qu Xing Xu would make Lin Xiaofei his whole world. "But-"

He could not continue his words as Qu Xing Xu suddenly raised his hand and swept it to the side as it to ward off a fly, then as if the doors had its will for itself, it suddenly closed.

'Bang!'

The loud creaking of the loose screws on the side and booming noise it made once it closed almost shocked the whole room. Splinters and dusts flew around the room and it also made the people inside the hall inevitably flinch.

Qu Xing Xu sighed. His eyes moved to Bai Yu whose face was devastated as his plan to run towards the door was ultimately crushed before him. As someone who loves escaping responsibilities and lazing around, Bai Yu was the quickest to realize that there was no way Qu Xing Xu would forgive them and he would definitely do as he had just said just now. He would collect their head. 

And thus, Bai Yu aimed for the door to escape, run faster than everyone else and prayed that Qu Xing Xu would busy himself with taking care of the others while he sought protection. He did not care about what happened to the rest of his family, he only cared about himself, and would only save his own life.

Bai Yu and the others soon realized what Qu Xing Xu had just done. Without using his hands or going over to the door to close it, and only using a sweep of his hands, the door willingly and forcibly closed on them, trapping them inside the hall.

Once this information was put inside their minds, their senses that were caught by the sound turned towards the man standing beside the brazier. Their fear intensified and renewed with dread and terror.

Even Old patriarch Bai looked at Qu Xing Xu with trepidation and panic. "You… what are you?" the old man's voice shook as he asked him.

Qu Xing Xu slowly turned to look at the old man, the tips of his lips curving up into a smile, and finally, he said, "Your Doom."
