Lin Xiaofei glared at him.

She couldn't believe that the masked man sitting across her compared her to a dog.

She wanted to stand up and slap him, but she has a goal she must achieve and the man in front of her was the only one who could help her achieve that.

Of course, the stack of banknotes on her sleeves will play a great role in sealing the deal as well.

"Why don't we cut the nonsense and start talking about business. And please, don't say you don't know what I'm trying to say here." She took the banknotes from her sleeve pocket and put it on top of the table, "I have money."

Hearing that, Qu Xing Xu almost laughed but forced himself to stop since it would be not good if Lin Xiaofei suddenly bolted away thinking he was mocking her.

He was ultimately surprised that she knew about the hidden business Hong Pei Lou was doing since only a few people in the capital knew of it and there was no way that a spoiled young miss who locked herself away from the crowd for 3 years would know anything about the real Hong Pei Lou.

Qu Xing Xu looked down at the stack of banknotes on the table and felt interested in what she wanted. He leaned forward not to take the banknotes but to get a clearer view of her hazel eyes.

Under the warm yellow glow from the lamps on the wall, Lin Xiaofei's hazel eyes looked like the sunset that draws people to get closer and look from afar.

Qu Xing Xu shook his head and didn't even look at the stack of banknotes in front of him as if that huge amount wasn't enough for him or it just doesn't appeal to him.

"Young lady, you misunderstood our business."

"What do you mean?" Lin Xiaofei asked.

In her past life, she came across Hong Pei Lou when she was about to get married to Yu Fangzhu. It was her deceased mother who told her to come to Hong Pei Lou if she ever needs help but of course, there will be a price to pay.

Unfortunately, she forgot what her mother told her on her deathbed and was too enthusiastic to marry the magnificent Fourth Prince of the Zheng Empire.

After a few years of marriage and battling in the inner courtyard, Lin Xiaofei finally went to visit the restaurant her mother told her about.

At first glance, she thought it was just a crappy and cheap restaurant with flashy designs. There wasn't a lot of people going in to eat or even stay. However, her mother won't just tell her to go to a restaurant such as Hong Pei Lou if there was nothing special about it.

Thus, Lin Xiaofei became determined to look more into it. It was difficult to find anything about the secrets of Hong Pei Lou since every time she tried to send a few people to inquire, but those people mysteriously disappeared.

Lin Xiaofei was no fool to think they scammed her and disappeared with the money she paid them, she was sure that something ended the people she sent to inquire.

With no other choice, Lin Xiaofei decided to go there personally. She disguised herself as a merchant and tried to mingle with the customers there for several days.

And with her perseverance and curiosity, she finally found her answer.

She observed that the customers that came were all regulars customers of Hong Pei Lou. They frequented the place and that was not the only thing she noticed.

At that time, she wasn't that sensitive with the sweet and pungent smell of blood, but with her experience in the inner courtyard where killing intent was everywhere, Lin Xiaofei soon found out that the entire restaurant was cloaked with deadly aura as if the flashy designs were purposely made to cover it.

Lin Xiaofei also found that every customer carried a knife or something that could be used to kill a person.

Thus, a realization hit Lin Xiaofei.

Hong Pei Lou wasn't just a restaurant that cooks dishes to their customers but also caters to people who were used to kill and probably, every customer they have was all experts.

"Is this not enough?" Lin Xiaofei asked while looking at the demon mask the man was wearing.

Qu Xing Xu chuckled behind his mask and said, "As I've said, you don't understand what my Hong Pei Lou does." He paused but didn't wait for her to say something and continued, "Money isn't the problem here, young miss. I don't need it."

"Maybe you don't. But your Hong Pei Lou might need it for renovation. I saw downstairs that the design wasn't as flashy as before and would scare away any stray animal that wanted to eat the leftover dishes."

Qu Xing Xu choked at her words. His face remained blank aside from the amus.e.m.e.nt in his eyes, however, after hearing her say that the design of his Hong Pei Lou was ugly and unpleasing that even an animal would stay away from it.

"You've come here in the past?" He suddenly asked.

Lin Xiaofei bit her tongue for her mistake, but she didn't reply to his question and avoided as she said, "We're veering off our topic. If it isn't the money then, what would the manager of Hong Pei Lou want?"

Seeing that she didn't want to talk about the fact that she visited Hon Pei Lou, Qu Xing Xu dropped the matter for now and go along with her, knowing that he could just simply ask his men to inquire if the Fourth Miss of the Lin Family has ever taken a step on the grounds of Hon Pei Lou.

Qu Xing Xu leaned his chin on top of the back of his hand, behind the mask, a smile was on his face, "Let's hear what the young miss want before deciding what kind of price one must pay for our service."

Lin Xiaofei nodded her head and her words were something he would never think would come out from her mouth.

"Bombs." Smiling behind her veil, her eyes turned into crescents, "I want to buy bombs."
