The Birth of a Villainess

Wu Xuanyi no longer wanted to deal with Lin Xiaofei, this innocent-looking monster. Although she barely smiled and laughed, keeping that beautiful appearance upfront, it seemed that Wu Xuanyi had seen deeper than just scratching the surface of a book.

This woman is too dangerous... Just what made Qu Xing Xu like her?

Was it because of her face? Her forehead was fair and smooth, tall and sharp nose, enticing small lips; in short Lin Xiaofei was the perfect embodiment of beauty that many master painters would imagine and paint using the tip of their brushes.

To add, those fluttering, thick lashes which surrounded those amber eyes made her eyes look much lighter and twinkle in the dark.

Compared to herself, Wu Xuanyi couldn't utter a denial that Lin Xiaofei was a perfect manifestation of God's image and poured every good thing on Lin Xiaofei when she was made.

Wu Xuanyi still did not want to give up, though. She might have been silenced and beaten up by Lin Xiaofei, verbally. She still did not want to see the man she loved fall into the hands of such a wild fox like Lin Xiaofei.

Stomping her foot, Wu Xuanyi let out a 'hmph' before rushing forward, not waiting for the two to walk alongside her.

"Sister Xiaofei, don't worry about her. Wu Xuanyi is just a kid. She doesn't realize that what she's doing is bad for her and everybody around her," Qi Yandi wasn't trying to protect Wu Xuanyi. He knew what the young lady's real personality was; it's just that he was worried that Lin Xiaofei would take up the challenge that Wu Xuanyi raised.

"That's right... She's just a little kid. I'm not going to lower myself and argue with a child..." She suddenly looked at him with a gaze full of deeper meaning, "However, women tend to grow quickly. Young Miss Wu is already part of the military and received many military achievements... she's no longer a child in the eyes of others. It is better if she doesn't act like one lest somebody else shows her the way of the adults."

As they walked and arrived in the main entrance of the courtyard, they saw that a crowd was already in front of them. Qu Xing Xu and others were already waiting up ahead and looked quite prepared to go on a long journey back to the Capital.

Lin Xiaofei slowed down her pace, whispering in her low voice, but making sure that Qi Yandi could still hear her from where he was standing.

"But if she dares try to do something foolish like this again... I don't mind turning into that 'somebody' and showing her how cruel things could be outside the battlefield," Lin Xiaofei slowly dragged her gaze at him before diverting it to look ahead where the group was standing.

The moment he heard what she said, Qi Yandi's feet suddenly felt like there was lead attached to his bones; dragging him down and forcing him to walk only half a step.

Just now... what his sister-in-law said was blood-curdling, making his body shiver from the fear she caused on him. He had never experienced something like this before; there was one time, and that was when he begged Qu Xing Xu not to hold back while they did training in the arena. However, how could someone, especially a lady who was reared up in the inner courtyard of the prestigious Lin family, produce such a tremendous and killing intent.

Moreover, Lin Xiaofei didn't only do that in a span of a sec, she also controlled the intent so deadly and potent to a minimum distance that he was the only one who sensed it and felt it.

"What's wrong?" The drop-dead gorgeous general wearing a dark robe emblazoned with silver patterns asked as he pulled Lin Xiaofei toward him.

"Nothing." Lin Xiaofei shook her head before she said, "I just went to see the garden in the city before returning."

"Garden?" Qu Xing Xu frowned. There was a garden that would capture his wife's attention? Why hadn't he found out about it? "Did you like it?"

"Does it matter if I like it or not?"

Qu Xing Xu nodded. "Yes... if you like it, I can order my soldiers to uproot all the flowers in that garden and bring them with us to the Capital. You can add them to your collection."

Lin Xiaofei pressed her fingers against her temple, "Do you even realize that by the time we arrive at the Capital, the flowers will wilt and die during our long journey?" She sighed, "Forget it. I'm not interested in flowers. The garden you gave me is already giving me a headache. Thankfully, you offered to take care of them, or else, I would have Shen Mo pull them all out from their roots and throw them outside."

What Lin Xiaofei told Wu Xuanyi was not a lie. There really was a garden that Qu Xig Xu had just recently created for her right outside her courtyard. It was a poppy field, full of blooming red flowers at their highest quality.

If people were to find out that Qu Xing Xu gave his wife a poppy field, they would be so shocked. After all, poppy flowers were known to be poisonous.

But Lin Xiaofei wasn't too worried about that. Poison was her friend when she was still in her original body; it accompanied her everywhere and protected her. So, Lin Xiaofei wouldn't discriminate against such beautiful and resourceful flowers like poppy. The only problem was that it scared some of the servants from getting closer to the courtyard.

Qu Xing Xu laughed, put his hand on her waist, pulling her closer to him, ignoring the meaningful glances he was getting from his brothers and soldiers around them. "I know, isn't that why I decided to take care of them instead of Shen Mo? The flowers should be blooming beautifully now..."

"I should send some to His Majesty."
