The Birth of a Villainess

Chapter 98 - Ungrateful Bastards

Inside the Cold Palace, Empress Qin Wei had her eyes lowered on the table with only a few dishes on top of it.

Compared to what she was used to eating when she was still favored by the emperor, the things in front of her was definitely not to her taste.

"How dare those dirty bastards from the kitchen serve her majesty this kind of trash!" A maid who was the personal maid of the empress since she was young fumed. "Don't they know that the empress can't eat shrimp? Ate they trying to kill her majesty?!"

Ever since she was young, Empress Qin Wei avoided eating shrimp as rashes would come out of her skin, and sometimes, she had a hard time breathing when she accidentally ate some. In the past, Emperor Yun told everyone not to serve this dish to her, and yet, it seems that after she was sent to the Cold Palace, everyone in the imperial palace seemed to forget who their empress was.

"That's enough. There are still some other things here to eat." Empress Qin Wei told her maid and raised her chopsticks to poke on the bowl on savory vegetables soaked in sauce and oil.

As she chewed it in her mouth, the bitterness of her future brought her to tears. She cried silently as she continued to eat. Her maids who were also beside her couldn't hold back their tears from flowing down their cheeks.

Empress Qin Wei didn't like the taste of the food but what else can she do when at the moment, although she still has the title of the Empress, who knew if by tomorrow her husband would take it away as he already planned to remove her family out of their extravagant lifestyle.

Staring at the stale food in front of her, Empress Qin Wei suddenly has the feeling to regret not ridding the young handsome p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.e who served her last night. If only she abstained from her l.u.s.t, her husband wouldn't have the chance to know her secret affair and she would still have the luxury life that she's been living all these years.

But who spread the rumors of her affairs and how did someone find it out when even her husband didn't know of her activities?

Someone malicious must have spread the rumors and made the Emperor know of her affairs.

Thinking like this, Empress Qin Wei felt great hatred towards this malicious person who spread the rumors and put her into this mess!

If only she could get out of here and tear that person up, she would make sure to skin them alive!

Empress Qin Wei slammed her chopsticks on the table with a loud bang and caused her maids to stiffen from their actions. With only a few dishes handed to them, all three of them, including the empress shared the food, and thus, when they saw the vicious look in her eyes, they couldn't help but forcefully swallow the food in their mouths and stopped eating.

"Where's my son?" Empress Qin Wei asked her maid who shook her head to let her know that they didn't know.

They expected that Prince Jing would come to the cold palace and visit his biological mother but who knew that not even one of the princes or princesses dared to look at her.

It's not that Empress Qin Wei wanted to see their pity but because she wanted to know who cared for her. After all, she's been acting the mother role to every royal offspring in the empire and has acted her role as their mother well.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click /book/the-birth-of-a-villainess_16977433905988805/ungrateful-bastards_47982465540745668 for visiting.

Unfortunately, even after her motherly actions towards them, no one came out and visited her. No one even dared to beg their imperial father to release and forgive Empress Qin Wei.

"Ungrateful bastards!" Bellowed Empress Qin Wei. If only she could go back in time, she would have never allowed these bastards from seeing the light of the day and kill them before they could talk.

The sounds of plates crashing and clattering on the floor were soon heard next. Empress Qin Wei pushed the table forward and letting the only food they will get today go to waste.

The maids looked forlornly at the food before they kneeled on the ground.

Just in time, someone opened the door and walked inside the room.

This person had a good-looking face but he somewhat resembled the features of the empress. It was none other than Prince Jing.

"Son!" Empress Qin Wei's eyes brightened up as she rushed to his side. "Son, did the emperor finally cleared his mind and let me go? I can't stay in this desolate and cold place any longer!" Said Empress Qin Wei.

Prince Jing wanted to avoid his mother's hand but stopped since he didn't want to be obvious that he didn't want her to touch him. The disgusted look in his face disappeared as soon as it appeared.

"Mother…" Prince Jing opened his mouth before shaking his head, "Father's decision is absolute. I can't change his mind from locking you up here."

"Did you beg him? Son, you should beg him and tell him that I was just muddled and schemed by someone!" Empress Qin Wei forced him to look at her.

Frowning, Prince Jing said, "I tried to beg him but father didn't want to listen to me."

Empress Qin Wei sobbed and tears started to fall from her face once again. It seems that Emperor Yun really wanted to take her out of the throne.

Unbeknownst to her, Prince Jing never came to his father and begged him. How can he kneel in front of everyone else and beg mercy for his a.d.u.l.terous mother?

Just thinking about how ashamed he was upon knowing and hearing that the rumors surrounding his mother were true and his mother was sent to the Cold Palace, Prince Jing didn't want to see his mother ever again.

But still, he had to come here for his personal reason.

"Mother, please don't blame father. I'm sure father is doing this for your sake." Taking a pause, he stared at his mother's eyes and finally uttered his intention.

"Mother, tell me. Did you somehow got to send the request of marriage decree from father?"
