The Birthday Of A Special Stranger

They soon arrived to the hotel. Edward made a call while his cousin wore her fury coat.

Joleen was in the car with her parents. She smiled when she saw his call, then merrily picked up.

~ Hello ~

~ Hello babe, I arrived to the hotel. Should I wait for you? ~ 

~ It's really cold outside Eddy. Just go inside and wait for me, I'll be there in less than twenty minutes ~

~ Okay then, I'll be impatiently waiting for you my love. Take care ~

Mona's earring fell under the car seat. She yelled as she unintentionally dropped it.

" Oh no ! " 

She abruptly covered her mouth with both hands when noticing that Edward  was still on the phone.

Joleen heard the scream right before hanging up. Her mother was talking to her but she was absentminded while glaring at her phone. Mr. Paterson touched his daughter's cheek to bring her back to earth.

She smiled then instantly replied.

" Yes dad? oh sorry mom did you say something? 

Meanwhile in Edward's car, Mona was apologizing. 

" I'm sorry Ed, did you find it?

Edward was looking for the earring under the car seat. He finally found it, then handed it to his cousin. 

" I'm sorry for bothering you, and sorry for yelling earlier " 

He replied while putting on his black coat.

" It's alright, Don't be silly. Come on let's get in quickly "

She put the earring back then grabbed Ed's arm when entering the hotel.

She felt uncomfortable being alone with him so she walked passed him when he suddenly blocked her way.  She tried to avoid him but he had something to say.

" Are you in a rush Sophie? Why don't you have a drink with me ? "

She paused, smiled, then talked while aggressively closing the buttons of his suit's jacket. 

" You certainly enjoy harassing and insulting Anna, don't you? However, Anna doesn't really care when you do that. Have you ever asked yourself why?" 

Her smile turned into a cold stare, and with burning eyes she added as she loosened her grip. 

" It's because you're trash, Chris "

She turned around and left immediately. Chris, who would've slapped Sophie for insulting him surprisingly did nothing. He stood still in the same spot for a moment, then suddenly bursted with laughter.

He turned around when he felt a hand on his shoulder, it was John's.

" What's so funny Chris? "

"Hey John! Your brother in law is really something. He's always surrounded by pretty ladies despite being a jerk. It's really funny how lucky that bastard can be! Don't you think ? "
