Meanwhile, Joleen and her parents arrived to the party as well. Her father walked in proudly with his daughter holding one arm and his wife holding the other. 

Mona was speaking with Edward about the incident with Anna few moments ago when his eyes suddenly widened as he seemed to find something that he was eagerly looking for.

"That Anna was so rude, I didn't really think she would .. Edward ? " 

Mona called his name but he did not respond. It was as if none of his senses were properly functioning except for his eyesight. Curious, confused and a little bit bothered she swiftly turned around to be astonished, just like everyone else standing in the room.

Joleen's beauty was the center of all the attention as soon as she stepped into the room in a fancy short black dress that contrasted her ivory white skin. Her hairstyle was plain yet elegant and her slight makeup made her naturally pretty face even prettier that it could easily melt the untamed hearts of the proudest men. 

She was so anxious being stared at by all the guests that she tripped and almost fell down. Thankfully, her father caught her right in time.

"Be careful honey" 

The little miss was so embarrassed that she could die. She took a deep breath then smiled at her father.

" Sorry dad, I'll be more careful "

Edward who was slowly approaching her stopped walking for a second as his heart literally skipped a beat at the sight of her blushed cheeks.

Just when she started adapting to the situation and feeling less stressed, her heart beats suddenly went wild again, but this time it was because her eyes met those of the one she insanely loves.

Her c.h.e.s.t felt so heavy and a cold sweat run down her smile as he was getting closer and closer. Joleen could neither understand the way her body was reacting nor control it, no matter how hard she tried. It was a bittersweet kind if suffocation which reached it's extreme when she felt his hand touching hers.

Calmly, Edward bowed and planted a gentle kiss on her soft hand, then spoke with a cute yet teasing smile while gazing at her sparkly eyes.

" You're finally here, my love " 

She was determined to tease him back so she rushed towards Liz who appeared out of the blue.

Ed was speechless for a moment before noticing the presence of his in laws. He greeted them politely then innocently asked.

" Is she upset with me ? Did I do something wrong? " 

Mrs. Paterson smiled then spoke in a soft voice.

" I also find it kind of weird that she actually gave you the cold shoulder, She was so excited because she wanted to meet you so bad. Why don't you try to talk to her again? Just the two of you ?"
