The Black Necromancer

126 Reaping Gains (2)

A cold pressure settled over Leon's head and he turned to face the floating figure beside him. A storm was raging within Abyssus' body as he underwent a qualitative transformation that changed him from top to bottom. When Leon focused his mind on Abyssus, he could see that the dungeon that he had been born in was also undergoing a change. All the creatures within the dungeon were changing as they ranked up.

The dungeon butler was right. He was ranking up after absorbing the two black spheres. Leon watched with amazement as Abyssus completed his evolution. A heavy pressure spread through the treasury, but the dungeon butler quickly slammed a lid on it and bottled up his aura.

"Master, I thank you for this opportunity to grow." Abyssus turned to face Leon and expressed his gratitude.

"It's fine." Leon casually waved his hand and turned to Jet. "This boosts the strength of a dungeon consciousness. Do you want it?" He asked.

"No, I'm fine without it." Jet refused.

"If you say so." Leon shrugged and tossed the sphere to Abyssus, who eagerly absorbed it. His strength grew again, but it was nothing too drastic.

Now that the spheres had been taken care of, Leon went on to begin sweeping through the treasury. Anything and everything of value was put into the treasury of the Dark Abyss Dungeon without hesitation, and soon enough the whole place had been swept clean.

One other advantage that Leon had gotten was in the form of a boost in strength to the Abyss Set. One disadvantage of the armor set was that its strength was directly tied to the dungeon. Now that the dungeon had been strengthened to the highest point of the Low B rank, the armors strength was also rated at that level now.

With a grin, and his arms folded behind his head, Leon turned around and took in the treasury one more time. Before leaving however, he suddenly noticed that along the wall of the circular treasury hall, there was one part that stuck out like a sore thumb. Everything was smooth and round, but that part of the wall looked as if it had a pillar jutting out.

Carefully, he walked in that direction, but before he could reach there, the wall suddenly slid open, and a figure came out. A two meter tall figure in silver armor strode out of the wall. The figure closely resembled the armored giant that Leon had killed.

Clang!

The armored figure stabbed its greatsword into the ground before all movement from its ceased. Leon probed it with his aura but was not able to sense any life from it. He summoned his spear and nudged the armor with it, making a notification to pop up.

[You have gained Cowardly Knight's Armor Set!]

[Equipping the Cowardly Knight's Armor Set will grant you bonus Agility and Dexterity stat points!]

Leon resisted the urge to cough. He was glad that he had gained yet another armor set, but the bonus stat points were obviously aimed at one thing. Especially when he paired it together with its name. It was clear that this bonus was meant to aid the wearer of the armor set in fleeing danger!

"Pfft. I'll still take it, though." Leon sighed and tucked the armor away in his dungeon treasury. After that he left the treasury. Jet was already waiting for him outside, and after he climbed out, the two of them turned to face the swirling portal that laid behind the giant throne.

"Shall we?" Jet asked.

"One moment." Leon replied and turned to all the corpses laying around. He raised both arms with a grin on his face, and activated his new Supreme Skill, <Abyss of the Undead>.

Then the world changed. In Leon's vision, dark souls lingered around the hall. These souls were nothing more than wisps of dark light, but Leon was still shocked. This was not how his <Spirit Summoning> skill had worked. It seemed this Supreme Skill was a whole different thing.

Walking forward, Leon stopped by one of the wisps and tried to grab it. His hand went through it, but he felt a sort of warmth radiate through his body, and the wisps vanished. The warmth ran through his bones and gathered in his chest area, before sinking through his core.

"No way..." He whispered, shocked. He quickly focused on the Supreme Skill so that he could find out a few more specifics of the skill, and when he found was much more different from what his <Spirit Summoning> could do. He found out that not only could he simply raise the dead, but he could also now absorb the souls and essence of the dead in order to strengthen his own body! This only worked on souls that he had yet to turn into his summons though.

Although this strengthening effect was noticeable to Leon, it was just a slight effect. He would have to absorb a lot of souls to see any solid benefits. For now though, he chose not to absorb the souls of these B rank monsters. Their strength was considerable, and would be useful in the coming trials.

"Rise up, my minions!" For some added flare, Leon spoke his thoughts in a deep tone, and an ominous aura spread through the hall. The temperature in the hall suddenly dropped to the point where even he felt the chill dig into his bones. But he was not irritated by it, nor did he feel any pain. Instead, he felt exhilarated. He felt like he was walking on the moon!

As the cold and heavy aura continued to spread, the armored beings began to rise on by one. Leon turned to a particularly large wisp. This large wisps of darkness represented the soul of the armored giant, the Cowardly Knight, that he had killed. He was happy that he could gain the allegiance of such a powerful being, even though its body was gone. This represented a major change in how he would fight from now on!
