“You’re here again!” An Siyao’s happy voice went on in Xia Yu’s mind.

With the maid right next to him, Xia Yu didn’t answer. He looked at the flowers in his hand.

Flower-arranging was not a matter of only putting flowers in a vase. One had to think of the arrangement of different flowers. Just like putting together an outfit, there were many things to consider.

Sensing Xia Yu’s dilemma, An Siyao said, “You can cut in the middle there.”

Xia Yu used his scissors to cut the branch in half.

“You used too much force and cut it too short. Try a new one,” the girl said.

Putting aside the botched branch, Xia Yu picked up a similar white flower.

“This one won’t work. Its flower is too full. Pick a more subtle one,” the girl reminded him. “The second one on your left might work, but it’s best to cut a new branch from the garden.”

People who were really into this art form all had their own garden.

Picking up the barely acceptable replacement, Xia Yu gingerly cut the branch.

“The cut is too rough.” An Siyao sounded unhappy. “It will do for now. Put it in the vase.”

With the girl’s direction, Xia Yu placed the flower in the right place. He breathed a sigh of relief.

“Great. We just need another four or five branches to finish this,” she said.

Four or five more branches?!

“None of the flowers here would work. We need to get more branches in the garden. It’s a little work.”

It’s a little work for the girl but catastrophic for Xia Yu.

He was silent for a bit before putting down the scissors and standing up.

“Miss?” The maid stood up too. “Where are you going?”

“I don’t want to do flower-arranging anymore,” Xia Yu said.

“What?” The maid was shocked. She couldn’t believe the normally mild-mannered girl would act so impulsive.

The maid looked troubled. “The class schedule says it’s time for flower-arranging.”

“You have an issue?” Xia Yu looked at the maid, who immediately lost her voice.

He walked out of the room. With An Siyao’s direction, he quickly found the piano room.

On the southern side of the piano room was a floor-length window. Orange-colored lights of dusk covered the piano.

“Miss.” The maid followed in. She seemed out of sorts.

Seeing Xia Yu sit down in front of the piano, she walked up to him. “Piano practice is tomorrow.”

“Go away.” Xia Yu interrupted her.

“I…” The maid looked flustered.

“Go away. I don’t want to repeat myself.”

When the maid couldn’t face Xia Yu’s cold gaze, she walked out in a panic.

“Close the door!”

The maid made a quick turn and carefully closed the door.

Leaning by the wall next to the door, the maid took a deep breath. In her impression, the girl was always timid and easy to control. She didn’t think the girl would be so bossy today.

Hah, she’d have never acted like this if the housekeeping chief was here. She’d been so mean to me since the chief was out.

The maid speculated as she took out a phone, reporting the incident to the maids’ chat group.

Inside the piano room, Xia Yu lifted the piano’s cover and pressed the keys randomly. He told An Siyao, “Do you have any power at home? Even a junior maid could order you around.”

“They do what the housekeeping chief tells them to do,” the girl answered.

Xia Yu learned something from her words.

There were more than a maid or two at An Siyao’s home, there was a whole housekeeping staff.

Freaking capitalists.

Xia Yu had thought of getting money directly from An Siyao. However, he was wary of capitalists’ power and connections, as well as any trouble they’d make for him in real life, so he didn’t.

“You were okay with what just happened? I thought you’d complain about me not having any manners,” Xia Yu chuckled.

“I don’t like flower-arranging either. I’ve wanted to do that for a long time.” An Siyao’s voice sounded happy.

“Who is this housekeeping chief?” Xia Yu felt that he needed to learn more about the girl’s life.

“She was my mom’s former maid,” the girl answered.

“She was close to your mom?” Xia Yu asked.

“No, just a regular maid,” An Siyao denied.

“Is she very close to your dad?” Xia Yu frowned. If so, things could be a little complicated.

“She’s over 50-years-old!” An Siyao complained as she heard Xia Yu’s subtext.

“If she’s just a regular maid, why do you have to listen to her?” Xia Yu was confused. “Do you like her?”

“Not really like.”

“OK. I understand. You are just afraid of rebelling against the housekeeping chief, right?” Based on what he’d learned about the girl in the last few days, Xia Yu understood the situation.

Now he didn’t have to worry about offending the maids.

“Teach me how to play.” He put his hands on the keys.

“Let’s start with what you know.”

After almost eight hours, Xia Yu stood up and stretched.

It was now 1:50 a.m. The maid came around 10 p.m., to get him to sleep, but Xia Yu stared at her until she backed off.

He went to the window and looked at the yard. There were many flowers he had not seen before, as well as a man-made river.

“You improved so fast.” An Siyao spoke.

“But I still can’t play a single song on the piano,” Xia Yu said. “Shouldn’t you be worried about your own life?”

“What should I worry about?” The girl sounded genuinely doubtful.

“It was not a coincidence that I occupied your body yesterday. I came again today. If I can do it twice, I can do it three times, four times…” Xia Yu tried to scare the girl.

“Isn’t it great?”

“???”

The girl was definitely quite odd. But it was none of his business. He just needed to gain skills in music and drawing through her.

“I’ll go take a shower now.” Xia Yu still hadn’t given up on teasing An Siyao.

“OK!” The girl sounded fine.

She wasn’t afraid?!

“Are you used to showing your body in front of men?” He squinted his eyes.

“Wait, you’re a guy?”

He finally heard the panic in the girl’s voice, yet, he’d also exposed some of his own secrets.

Right, she couldn’t have known his gender. This was his oversight.

He had to be more careful in the future. He didn’t want to mess up.

“Um… can I wash myself?” An Siyao asked.

“It’s okay, I can help you!” Xia Yu smiled.

When he left the piano room, he looked at the hallways nearby. “Where’s the bathroom?”

An Siyao didn’t answer.

“I’ll take off the clothes here.” Xia Yu reached out his hands.

“On the right!” The girl rushed to answer. Her voice was filled with anxiety, embarrassment, and resignation.

Happy with her reaction, Xia Yu went to the bathroom.

“I’m starting!” Xia Yu intentionally tried to provoke An Siyao.

It was so embarrassing! An Siyao tried to close her eyes, but she couldn’t control her body, she could only watch Xia Yu’s movements.

During the last step, her eyes blurred, and she fell to the left.

She yelled and clutched the wall.

Was my body back?

She tried to move her limbs, confirming that she was back in control of her body. Looking at the wall clock, she mumbled, “it’s eight hours again, just like yesterday.”

She puffed out her cheeks. “He was making fun of me!”
