The Burning Fiend

The three brothers were depressed as they had received news of the failure on negotiations and their brother's execution day. Bebe was hiding crying silently inside Reynolds clothes. Yale had decided to go make trouble at Alice wedding as he could not stomach the idea of that treacherous female enjoying life while the man she had betrayed was about to die.

They were drinking wine at the weeding when people started screaming as the groom and his father were stept on by giant furry feet. Reynolds realized that this might be a magical beast invasion and was both happy and worried, he was happy because this would give them a chance to rescue their third brother and worried because his power might not be enough to survive this.

He immediately activated the slave seed he had left on Windsor a year ago and told her to go and hide in the secret room within the study, he felt her surprise and lack of fear as she did as he told her without question or hesitation. Reynolds was surprised because he did not take away her free will, he was just using the slave seed to provide a telepathic link to talk to her. Then he said.

"Bebe, our chance has come." Bebe was unaware of what was happen as he was lost in its grief but it was instantly standing on Reynolds's shoulder looking at was happening around. "We cannot come close to third brother, but you can. Now, you don't go to him directly but wait to see if the attack reach the Headquarters of the Radiant Church as that may provide an opportunity, alright?"

Then he looked at his two brothers and say "Eldest brother, I think we would need to depend on you to leave the city. I will leave to get Windsor and meet you at the Dowson Conglomerate Headquarters as soon as I can. Do not think of going to third brother, Bebe will handle that without putting himself in danger and we would only complicate thing. We have to thrust that the heavens will bless third brother and give him a chance to scape."

Yale was reluctant but was taken away by a determined George. George was worried about the invasion, about his third brother, he did not know if the could survive this, but he could not help smiling thinking that his fourth brother was not a complete lost case. He was going to rescue his woman even if he keep saying that she was just a maid and sometimes called her a pet... he was not completely lost.

Reynolds made his way through the panicking people as fast as he could while avoiding battle with magical beasts, the city was chaos and he knew there was no saving it. Just looking at how many saint level magical beast were here he was sure the battle at the Radiant Chuch Headquarters would certainly provide a chance for his third brother, he felt relieve in that. He was a little depressed looking at so many corpses and people suffering, but he had understood long ago that in this cruel world the strong ate the weak and been weak was sin itself.

So he ignored the feeling of pity and increased his determination. He arrived at his now semi destroyed villa and found no survivors and only three fifth rank wind wolves that were sniffing near where the study used to be looking for something.

He took his spear from the space ring and killed them without a second though, he retrieved the magic cores and started opening a way to the secret room. He already had a few sets of clothes, dry food, wine, water and all his money within his space ring, so the only thing missing was his favorite maid. He smiled at that thought as he finally opened a path and found a calm beautiful woman that was looking at him with tears in her eyes.

He walked to her and said teasingly as he patted her head. "Did my little pet was scared by the bad wolves? There, there, who is a good girl?" She blused and pouted looking accusingly at him as she said in a very low but melodious voice. "I am a good girl". Reynolds could not help but smile as he picked her up in his arms and kissed her with passion.

"I am not letting you scape from me, now we have to leave. Change your clothes quickly into a warrior training outfit there is not time to waste!" She was still pouting and looked aggrieved but did as she was told immediately as he enjoyed the view of her changing her clothes. Soon she was wearing a gray loose training warrior outfit with her hair tied around her neck and donned a gray cloak with a hood that covered half her face.

When Reynolds arrived at the Dowson Conglomerate Headquarters a group was already waiting for departure and Yale and George were visibly less worried as they saw the two of them getting approaching. "Eldest brother, second brother sorry for making you wait. Are we departing soon?". The one who answered were not Yale but his father, he was fat as a respectable merchant should be and had a heavy resemblance with his son. "Reynolds, I'm happy to finally meet you. You seem as special and talented as my soon said, you and your woman take a horse for both of you, we are leaving right now."

Without hesitation he took Windsor and mounted a brown horse, he had never mounted before but with his warrior level it proved no trouble. "What about third brother? We cannot leave without him!" Yale started to panic and screamed. "We cannot wait anymore! We are leaving right now!" His father howled at him and George said. "Boss we have to leave, we need to trust third brother just as fourth brother said, his best chance is Bebe and we would only create more trouble and attention to him if we go".

Yale was depressed but had no choise but to accept this and pray for his third brother. As they were making their way out of the city they found Linley. Linley was happy to see them and an extremely excited Bebe was jumping on Linley's shoulder. Linley smiled mischievously and said. "Fourth brother so this is the pet you had been bragging so much about?" Windsor blushed furiously and buried her head on Reynolds's c.h.e.s.t. Reynolds smiled and clearly faking anger he said. "Third brother, I am the only one who can tease my pet!" Everyone laughed at that making the heavy atmosphere lighter.

Linley had business to take care so he did not join them, but he was already a 9th rank warrior when in his dragonblood warrior form so he was safer than most. They continued their way without trouble, the magical beast seemed to be picking their targets and avoided those who seemed difficult to deal with or that might make them lose too much time.

The destruction on the city was demoralizing and he could feel Windsor pressing herself against his c.h.e.s.t as if looking for comfort, so he put his arm around her and hold her tightly. He noticed George was smiling but he could not figure out why, sometimes his second brother acted strange...

They made their way toward the City of Hess which was north from the Fenlei City and it seemed that the magical beast were becoming less abundant as they continued their way. Their group seemed intimidating enough so magical beast and human sc.u.m avoided them, they traveling speed was fast so they managed to enter the city before most of the fleeing people and had no trouble entering and reaching the Dowson Conglomerate Headquarters.

He dismounted and then took Windsor by the waist to help her down the horse but he did not release her after her feet reached the ground, he found satisfying that she never resisted him and smiled proudly. He then said casually to Yale's father. "Uncle is a shame that I do not have a space ring or I would have tried to get ahold of all the food and wine that could I afford before prices reach the sky in a couple of hours". Yale's father smiled with glint in his eyes and said. "Why thank you Reynolds, it is good to see that my soon has smart and talented brothers. Gaspar! Mobilize as many people as you can and start gathering resources make sure that guards go with them to avoid trouble!" A middle-aged man started running while smiling as if already seeing a mountain of gold provoking a chuckle from Reynolds.

He was assigned a big room to live along with Windsor, the room have direct access to a garden where they could train without problem. The rooms next to it were occupied by George and Yale living one room free in case Linley catched up with them. The room had a medium sized bathroom which he immediately prepared and then carried Windsor over his shoulder as he walked toward the steaming pool of water.

He needed to release the tension of the last few days and celebrate that they had reached a safe point before making his future plans, so he would play with Windsor in the bath and then he planned to spend the rest of the night without letting her rest. He smiled as he reached the pool of water and put the beautiful woman on the floor in preparation for the wonderful night he was sure to enjoy.
