The Burning Fiend

Chapter 61 - New Resident

After a few hours had passed after the short battle, Reynolds was lost in thought. "Perhaps I should follow the same advice I gave third brother and stay in seclusion for a while. I'm sure that after I became a full God by fusion the laws of 'Flame Body' and 'Elemental Essence' along with my defensive artifacts I would have no much trouble. And by that time both Koral and Rosarie should have already become demi Gods". Reynolds was muttering while watching the passing clouds.

"That sound like a good plan". Catherine's gentle neutral voice interrupted his thoughts. Reynolds startled and laughed as he found that both Catherine and Linley were there. "Sorry I was distracted and did not notice your arrival. Welcome to my home Catherine. Third brother care for a glass of wine?"

He took them to a circular stone table an invited them to sit, a moment later Windsor arrived with a pot of tea for Catherine and took her leave for them to talk. "Third brother did you came for Desri's divine spark?" Reynolds's said with curiosity and Linley nodded. A moment later the divine spark was floating towards Linley as Reynolds sighed. "I really cannot imagine what would it feel to train for 5,000 years to finally achieve the demi God rank and have your divine avatar destroyed a few months later. Perhaps you should go and pay a visit to your friend before he does something crazy?"

Linley was surprised that Reynolds had given him the divine spark so easily as he knew very well that his fourth brother was extremely selfish and would not help others for free, Reynolds noticed his surprise and chuckled. "Don't think too much, Rosarie's sister is married to that old man so I don't care much for him but Rosarie would be upset if her sister suffers from this".

Linley nodded and left leaving Catherine behind. "I see that you could not enjoy tea during your time on the Necropolis of the Gods as your are enjoying this one so much". Reynolds chuckled and then continue. "I was the same with wine and food as soon as I returned". Catherine smiled and closed her eyes in enjoyment as she took another small taste of her tea.

After a moment she sighed and said. "Reynolds would you mind if I stay in the island, I don't really feel comfortable around so many people and I think that this place would be a good one to train". Reynolds nodded without hesitation and said. "Sure, there are enough rooms on the castle or you can build a wood cabin any place you want. I surely would welcome a good conversation with you about the edicts of life".

Catherine smiled and seemed relaxed, it was a difficult experience to find herself without a home again.

The days passed and it was not uncommon to feel divine power fluctuations on the distance as other deities battled each other, the times on the Yulan Continent had changed drastically in only a few years. Reynolds progress on the aspect of soul erosion was satisfactory and but it would take him around 2 years to complete the second refinement of the grey mist before proceeding to the next stage. But he was already able to add grey mist to his spear, similar to the Great Warlock fighting style, showing a firm entry into the edict of death.

Cesar and Tarosse would come to drink wine often, Tarosse always leaving one of his divine avatars at Linley's castle for protection, so he leant from Tarosse the importance of fusing elemental laws and his views on the edicts as he was a practitioner of the edict of destruction.

Catherine normally avoided the women living on the island and she lived on a small cabin not far from the castle were she spent most of her time pondering the edict of life and only visited every few days to talk with Reynolds as they both were improving slowly.

One day as he was talking with Catherine they heard Beirut mental message. "The Deities who are still here at the Yulan continent, the Necropolis of the Gods is opened only once every millennium, and it has just been opened not too long ago. Those of you who wish to enter the Necropolis of the Gods must wait a thousand years…also, there is a limit to the number of people who will be granted entry. Only the strong will be allowed in."

Reynolds smirked and said. "It seems that Lord Beirut wants to make those deities kill each other..." then he laughed a little and said. "I can imagine how Cesar should be complaining now that he was forced to go to the Necropolis of the Gods and now the deities must show that they are strong to be allowed entrance." Catherine laughed as well and her laugh disturbed Reynolds's mind for a moment wondering if she had added the edict of life to her laughter unconsciously or if it was a trait or the elf family to have such a mesmerizing laughter.

"Very good Koral! Your velocidragon fire construct has improved a lot... I will said that when your 'Flame Body' reaches a similar level and you fuse both laws you would most likely become a deity!" Reynolds was happy as he complimented Koral and she purred in satisfaction but then complained.

"But Master the 'Flame Body' is so difficult, wouldn't it be better if I continue with the 'Fire Elemental Essence'?" She seemed unwilling to wait so long to become a demi God making Reynolds laugh in understanding. "Well, according to Lord Tarosse fusing laws become more difficult the longer we wait. It will take you a little longer to reach the demi God realm but you would be much stronger by fusing laws and by the time you reach the full God realm your power would not be comparable to someone who had understood the same two laws but did not fuse them. It is worth the wait... but again, it is your decision and you can do as you want."

Koral seemed unwilling but ended bowing her head. "Bad Master... making me fuse laws..." She muttered as she make her way to the training chamber to ponder the laws making Reynolds blink in surprise. 'I guess she had already picked on a few traits from those girls'. He thought and chuckled while going to check on the other girls.

Rosarie and Jenne were sparring against Windsor while only using qi and the realms of wielding weapons. Rosarie was already a rank 7 warrior while Jenne was a peak rank 8 warrior, Rosarie had gained entry to the second realm of wielding weapons while Jenne was close to mastering the third realm. Windsor was already a saint warrior in complete control of the 'impose level' resulting in complete dominance over her two sisters.

He waited until they finished their training and while Rosarie and Jenne were pondering on their own gains he called Windsor and sat cross-legged with her on the ground. Windsor was looking at him as if expecting mischief and her eyes shined when she realized he was going to help her to learn about the elemental laws.

"Well I don't practice the 'Elemental Laws of Earth' but I can tell you that they are divided on six laws and by similarity with the other elemental laws, the simplest of them should be the 'Earth Elemental Essence' along with something similar to an 'Earth Body' and Linley practice what he calls the 'Throbbing Pulse or the World' which have to do with vibrations that resonate with the earth". He waited for a moment gathering his thoughts and said.

"You have decades of experience in stone sculpting so you should already have some understanding of the 'Earth Elemental Essence' what you need to do is become conscious about it and then continue pondering. I would advice you to use the 'impose' realm as you gather earth elemental essence to give it form and ponder... with time you should be able to do it without the 'impose' realm in a similar way to what Koral and I did to train the 'Fire Elemental Essence'. You can enter the training room with Koral for an hour each day... that should help a little."

She seemed lost in thought and completely unaware that he was no longer talking, he smiled and left her to her pondering. He turned to look at the other two girls and his eyes rested on Rosarie, he agreed with her decision to wait until she became a warrior saint to go back to ponder the laws again, he expected that as soon as she reached the realm and used 'impose' to apply her already prime saint understanding in a new perspective she would find the inspiration she was missing to reach the demi God realm.

Then his eyes rested on Jenne and her case was a little more difficult, even her warrior training was meeting with difficulties but her perseverance gave him confidence that with time she would surely become a saint, But pondering the laws or edicts was an entirely different situation... 'we will find a solution for that in time I guess'. He smiled and made his way towards the garden thinking on pondering the aspect of illusion, perhaps he could use illusion to help them just like Lord Beirut had used an illusion to help his third brother... 'it would not be as effective and they would only be able to relate to their own elements by similarity... but it might be of some use I guess'.

He smiled and started practicing the aspect of illusion by trying to create a landscape that contained his understanding of the laws of fire, even if the attempt failed it would be a good exercise.
