Chapter 30 – Let’s Live Together

(T/N: Third person perspective.)

For Madoka, Chinatsu was indispensable.

Thinking of him helps her to forget her past sorrows. And by spending happy days with him, Madoka realizes that she is alive. She understands that her feelings are incredibly heavy, and is confident that Chinatsu will accept them.

“…Oh?”

Well, it happened one day.

When she was visiting Chinatsu at his house, she noticed a diary she had found while she was on her way to the bath. It was a diary with no particular title, and it looked new, as if it had been bought recently.

“…I really shouldn’t do this.”

Pulling back her outstretched hand, Madoka shook her head as if she shouldn’t.

But curiosity got the better of her and she put her hand down. Deciding to apologize later for what she had seen, she opened the diary.

Written on it was a cry of love for Madoka.

No, the love cries were an over-interpretation of Madoka. It was more about how he thought about Madoka every day and how he wanted to spend his time with her.

“…Chinatsu-kun♪”

She did not know that Chinatsu wrote such a diary.

The dates were skipped, probably because he had been spending a lot of nights with Madoka recently. Of course, there was also a description of things that happened before he started going out with Madoka.

“…Ah…”

It described the pain he must have felt at the time when Madoka was still spending time with her ex-boyfriend.

“……”

Her ex is now a forgotten past. But that doesn’t mean it never happened. There is no doubt that Chinatsu suffered without Madoka’s knowledge.

Well, there’s nothing to do about those days now. But for Madoka, Chinatsu is now a really important person. That’s why, no matter what the circumstances, she couldn’t forgive herself for making him suffer even a little.

“…I’m such an idiot. How could I have done this?”

As has been said many times, it was inevitable for Madoka at that time, but now Madoka cannot allow anyone to torment Chinatsu, no matter what. It was the same for herself, and it did not matter what time it was.

“…Yes. That’s why I must continue to love Chinatsu-kun from now on. I can only atone for my sins by loving only him and being only his Madoka.”

Chinatsu doesn’t think that far ahead, and it’s just a leap of faith on Madoka’s part. Her heavy feelings for Chinatsu led her to take on this unnecessary responsibility. It was also the curse that gave birth to even stronger feelings for Chinatsu, and made her attach the chains of living for Chinatsu to her own body.

“…Ah♪”

However, the painful part was only the first half of the book, and in the second half, Chinatsu’s words describe the happy days that continue to this day.

The diary contains many words such as “I’m happy to be Madoka-san’s boyfriend” and “Every day I’m so happy”, and just by looking at them, Madoka’s heart is filled with joy. She knew this from his gestures, but a diary like this, written in his own words without the intervention of Madoka’s will, would not tell a lie no matter what.

“A diary, huh… I haven’t written one, but it might be good to keep a record of my days with Chinatsu-kun like this.”

I’ll write a diary soon, Madoka thought.

Well, while she was absorbed in reading like that, of course Chinatsu would come back. He came into the room, but Madoka didn’t notice him at all.

“Madoka-san?”

“!?”

She was so startled that if she had been a cat, her fur would have stood up on end. She turned quickly towards Chinatsu, but in her hand was his diary. Before she could even let out a gasp, her misdeed of reading the diary without permission was exposed to the light of day.

“Ahaha, you’ve seen it, haven’t you?”

“I-I’m sorry, Chinatsu-kun! I knew I shouldn’t have done that, but… Well, I couldn’t help but be curious.”

Chinatsu laughed at Madoka’s desperate apology, saying it was okay.

He gently takes the diary and flips through the pages.

“I didn’t have anything in particular to do after I got home, so I thought I’d write a diary… It was mostly about Madoka, which might have been weird.”

“That’s not true! I’m so happy to feel Chinatsu-kun’s strong feelings for me!”

Madoka hugged Chinatsu as if to tell him that she was not feeling bad. Not only did he smell very nice after his bath, he was also very warm and made her want to stay like this forever.

“…Madoka-san…smells good.”

“Chinatsu, you smell better than me♪”

She buried her face in Chinatsu’s hair as she sniffed them. Madoka realized once again that a good fragrance has the power to make one’s lower abdomen throb with excitement.

“Please take a bath, Madoka-san.”

“Yeah, I’m off.”

These days, it seems like Chinatsu often lives in Madoka’s room, but sometimes Madoka comes to his room, like today. It depends on her mood, but recently, she’s in the mood to live with Chinatsu.

“…I wonder if I should seriously discuss this with Yuika-san.”

She muttered as she undressed.

It’s fine to move between each other’s rooms, but it’s preferable to live in one room. They have already decided to commit to each other for eternity in the future, but she wanted to live together as a first step.

“…But then I wonder if I’ll be able to put up with a lot of things.”

There’s nothing to hold back now, but she is a little scared of what would happen if she were to live together with Chinatsu, whom she loves so much. They will be together from morning till night, from the time they wake up to the time they go to bed, not to mention the time they are at school.

“Ah, that’s no different to how I spend my holidays now. Then there’s no problem.”

Madoka came to a conclusion.

Madoka nodded her head and said that even though they were going to live together, nothing would be different from the way they spent their time now, so there would be no problems. After washing her body, head and hair, Madoka soaked in the bathtub.

“…Haa~♪”

It was a cold season, so the moment when the hot water warmed her body felt good. Madoka thought it would be a bad idea to make Chinatsu wait too long, so she left the bathroom after a certain amount of time.

“Hey, Chinatsu-kun.”

“What is it?”

“Well, why don’t we take the plunge and live together?”

“I see, live together… Live together!?”

Out loud, Chinatsu was startled.

It was a sudden proposal, so it was understandable that Chinatsu was surprised, but Madoka thought about it quickly and was convinced, so she continued to say that it was okay.

“Look, we live in separate rooms, but it’s like we’re already living together. We even eat meals together and sleep together all the time these days, right? Then I think it’s okay for us to live together now♪”

“…You’re right.”

Now is the time to strike, and Madoka is going on the offensive even further.

“I want to live together with Chinatsu-kun. From morning till night, I want to be by your side like a real couple. How about it?”

“…That…sounds very nice. Well… What will our parents say?”

Madoka took it as a sign that Chinatsu was on board.

All that remained was to persuade each other’s parents, but strangely enough, Madoka was not worried. It was really just a feeling, something she couldn’t be sure of, but she couldn’t see a future in which they would refuse.

“Well, let’s ask it as a proposal for now.”

“Yes.”

So Madoka decided to call Yuika immediately .

Yuika seems to be in a very good mood after receiving a phone call from Madoka.

“Yuika-san, may I make a suggestion?”

[Oh, what’s wrong? You want to move in with Chinatsu? We are in favor of it, and if Madoka-san’s parents agree, then it’s fine.]

“…Suu~”

Madoka took a deep breath and raised her clenched fist to the sky.

“We did it, Chinatsu-kun!”

“…I’m happy about this, but my Mom made the decision so easily, huh?”

The only people left were Madoka’s parents, so Madoka immediately made a phone call.

It’s easy to see from Madoka’s subsequent joy to hear what kind of response she got. And so, in a sense, it was a new step toward the future.
