The CEO's Assistant

Chapter 3 - Instinct

*6 and half months before present day*

He watched as her eyes sparkled at the sight of the beautiful wedding gown in the fashion magazine, he couldn't help but smile as he watched his beautiful fiancee browse through the magazines.

"Have you picked a design yet?" He asked kissing her cheek.

"I'm going to have a look with your mother and the girls the day after tomorrow." Chloe looked loving at the man who adored her. "But I have an idea about what I want."

Chloe was getting her gown custom made by the head designer of Aimer La Mode, she was going to meet with the designer on Monday and tell him what she wanted.

"Will Juliette being going with you?" Liam asked curiously.

"No," Chloe imitated the sound of sadness and disappointment, "I asked her to accompany us, but she declined." Juliette is Liam's younger sister and is about the same age as Chloe. Since Chloe came from a fairly common family, when she first started dating Liam, she found it hard to fit in. Over time she won the hearts of both his parents and uncle, but his younger sister never seemed to sway.

"Would you like me to talk to her?" Liam put down his phone and looked at the woman he was about to marry, her eyes lit up as she leant her hands against his firm c.h.e.s.t.

"Would you?" She fluttered her grey-blue eyes looking up at her fiance.

"Anything for you darling." He pushed her light hazelnut hair behind her eyes and gently c.a.r.e.s.sed her faces, she smiled up at him leaning forward until her lips met his.

"Well I'll have a chat to Juliette on the flight we should be back late tomorrow evening or early Monday morning, depends on how this business in London goes." He held the young girl in his arms as he thought about the wedding being held in a few weeks, and smiled. Liam gave her one last kiss before taking his luggage and getting into the car.

Leaving his fiancee in a huge house all by herself for two day, made him feel kind of guilty, but she insisted she'd be fine. He also knew Chloe would be busy with last minute wedding preparations anyway.

Liam left his place and headed to pick up Juliette before both of them heading to the airport. He sat next to the window, in first class waiting for his sister to finish in the bathroom.

"So what do you think of this issue in London?" Juliette took a seat, as she adjusted her blouse. They were flying to London because the London branch of Aimer La Mode was having issues with it's management staff and as the next to inherit the company Liam was asked to go and sort it out, Juliette was forced to go and support her brother and give him advice. While the two had never competed for the position of CEO, their father needed to know who would be more capable of the position.

"Oh some of the management staff are trying to seize control or something..." He replied coldly, not looking up from his phone.

"What's wrong with you?" Juliette snatched the phone out of his hands, forcing him to look at her. "You can act all cold and heartless with everyone else, but not with me. What is going on?" Her eyes narrowed as she intensely stared at him.

"Why... don't you like Chloe?" He finally said it as if the weight of the world just fell off his shoulders.

"What?" Juliette eyes widened in surprise, this was not what she thought. "I... it's not that I don't like her... it's more that I don't trust her..." She fiddled awkwardly with the emerald ring on her index finger.

"Why not? She's been with me for 2 and half years now. Not once have you tried to get to know her." He was starting to get angry. "Our parents like her, Uncle Elliot likes her, so why can't you?"

"I don't know..." she rubbed her arm awkwardly, how could she tell her brother what she really thought about his fiancee. "You know when you just don't like someone, and their entire existence just pisses you off? Well I'm sorry to say but that's how I feel about Chloe. And I know you love her, which is why I've never said anything and I feel really guilty about it, so to avoid any conflicts, I just stay away from her." While Juliette wasn't lying, she wasn't telling the whole truth either, she just didn't have any concrete evidence to prove her theory.

"That's bullshit... but whatever!" He rolled his eyes and looked out the window for the next hour.

The issue was resolved a lot quicker than they first thought it would be, so Liam and Juliette were flying back a lot earlier than they intended.

"I rang mom and told her we'd be home early, since our flight leaves soon I asked her to let Chloe know as well." Juliette smiled sweetly at her older brother. She didn't like lying to him, but she knew this would be their only opportunity.

"Thank you." He replied coldly.

After two hours of flying home and getting out of the airport the siblings were finally on their way home. Juliette looked nervously at her brother.

"Hey Liam, can I spend the night at yours? Felix isn't home tonight and you know how I feel about being home alone." While the two were still on awkward terms after Juliette's confession, Liam knew how terrified she was of being home alone. He nodded silently.

It was about 3am Sunday morning when they finally reached Liam's manor. The pair walked into the house and upstairs to the bedrooms, only to hear voices coming from the master bedroom. Liam was unsure why his bride-to-be would still be awake at this hour, he slowly headed over to his room and out of curiosity his little sister followed quietly behind him. As he went to open the door, a small hand stop him, putting her finger over her mouth signalling him to be quiet, she pushed her ear against the door.

Liam didn't really know why but he followed his sister's example. Inside they could hear the loud sounds of Chloe m.o.a.ning, causing Juliette and Liam's faces to turn red with anger.

"Arrrrhhh, harder, faster!" She screamed as she was reaching her climax.

In complete anger Liam almost kicked the door down, until Juliette stopped him. "Shhh, just listen a bit longer." She whispered.

"What?" He looked her like she was a prevert.

"They're finished you idiot," she rolled her eyes. "I want to hear what they discuss next, they obviously don't know we're here, so just trust me." The siblings pressed their ears against the door again.

"Oh I can't wait to be able to do that with you every night." A deep voice echoed throughout the large room.

"Soon my love, I'll marry that fool in about 2 weeks and then all his inheritance will be mine." Chloe giggled seductively. "Then all that is left to do is kill him and his stupid sister."

"Oh baby you know, I get so turned on when you talk like that." The man replied seductively. Suddenly more m.o.a.ning and heavy panting started.

"Okay I think it's safe to go in now." Juliette looked at her brother, who was standing there shocked. Not only had he caught his fiancee cheating on him, but she was also planning on killing him for his inheritance. It wasn't until his small blonde sister standing in front of him started to shake his body, that he snapped back.

"What the f.u.c.k!" Liam yelled as he kicked the door open as his sister flicked on the light, only to find his fiancee n.a.k.e.d riding up and down some random guy's body. "Get out!"

"B... baby?" Chloe pulled her n.a.k.e.d, sweaty body off her lover's covering them both with sheet. "What are you doing home so early? I... I... this isn't what it looks like."

"Oh so this isn't my fiancee, f.u.c.k.i.n.g some other guy while I was away? Then conspiring against me, just to get my inheritance?" Liam's usually perfect face was red with anger, his eye wide with hatred. Chloe and her lover's faces went pale, she didn't realise he'd heard all that.

"I'm going to make some tea, you can come down when you're ready." Juliette disappeared out the door not waiting for a response. She'd had a strong feeling that Chloe was after his inheritance from the start, and about two months ago, when she'd come to see Chloe while Liam was away, she'd seen this very same man leaving the house. Then two more times after that, when she confronted Chloe about him she said he was a friend from high school, but she had a strange feeling she'd started having an affair.

"B... baby, you know I love only you." With the blue silk sheet wrapped around her slim body, she walked up to Liam with innocence in her eyes and sorrow on her face. "I... I didn't mean this."

"GET THE F.U.C.K OUT OF MY HOUSE! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!" He screamed at her. As loving as he could be to her, was a cold as he was to everyone who meant nothing to him. Now she meant nothing to him.

"But baby..." She pushed her body against his seductively, as she let go of the sheet revealing her n.a.k.e.d body, reaching up to wrap her arms around his neck.

"Get off me! You're nothing but a cheap whore!" He pushed her away as he headed over to the man who lay n.a.k.e.d on his bed, he grabbed the man by the throat, squeezing until he almost lost consciousness. Liam threw the man across the room into the large mirror. "Now I won't say it again, GET OUT NOW! Or you won't be leaving alive!" He grinned maliciously, the way he did when he tortured his enemies.

Chloe wrapped herself in the sheet again and ran out of the house, leaving her lover behind. As he finally managed to catch up they left in his car.

Juliette stood staring out the window watching the two arguing in the car.

"You knew, didn't you?" Liam's deep voice, caused Juliette to turn around to meet his gaze.

"I wasn't sure..." Juliette looked down, at the tea in her hands, sadly. "While I had suspected for a long time, I had no proof and I didn't want to risk ruining your relationship on a hunch that may be wrong."

"Next time... say something." He turned away, heading to his study.

"I'm sorry..." She said, but he was too far away to hear her. "I should have listened to my instinct..."
