The CEO's Assistant

Chapter 6 - A Drunken Moment

Their lips so close, their eyes fluttering shut.

"Liam!" Felix's voice echoed in the hallways, causing both of them to snap out of their trance. Arianna still quite drunk, softly fell asleep in his arms.

"Shh..." Liam turned around to face him, indicating that she was sleeping.

"Oh sorry, I was just coming to ask if you had any pain killers?" Felix lowered his voice and lightly walked towards them.

"There are in the main bathroom on the first floor." He used his head to gesture towards the stairs. "But before you go... can you open this door for me? It's a little hard with someone in my arms." Liam's cheeks were still flushed, from their almost kiss, Felix laughed, as he opened the door for them, he watched the man with a shattered heart look almost whole as he carried the beautiful brunette, 'please don't hurt him.' Felix thought to himself as he watched them interact.

Liam put the girl on the bed, removing her black heels, Arianna stood up, using the wall to hold herself up, and lifted the strap up from around her neck and unzipping the back of her dress.

"What are you doing?" Liam quickly turned away as she started to undress.

"I can't... sleep... in my clothes..." she giggled sleepily as he blushed. Hearing her words, he unbuttoned his white shirt and tossed it at her. "I'm done." she laughed drunkenly, he turned around to reveal a tight, muscular lean body, every muscle perfectly defined, with a nice six pack abs, like he was created by a god himself. Her cheeks flushed red as she saw the extremely handsome guy with an almost irresistible body.

Liam turned around to see the stunning brunette in his shirt that only came about halfway up her t.h.i.g.hs, showing off her stunningly long legs, her once perfectly styled curls were now a s.e.xy mess. Somehow he found the girl standing in even more s.e.xy and enticing than she was before. The longer he looked at her the more he could feel his body reacting.

"I'm tired." She w.h.i.n.ed childishly.

"Well go to sleep then." He quickly walked her over to the bed pulling the soft lilac sheeting back, feeling the need to get out of there quickly, before he couldn't control himself anymore. She went to jump into bed as she lost her footing and fell against him. Instinctively he grabbed her waist catching her. Her perfectly round b.r.e.a.s.t were pushed against his b.a.r.e c.h.e.s.t, with only a thin layer of cotton between them. He looked down at her and could see her impeccable cleavage through the top of his shirt, he turned his head to look away. He place her down into the soft warm bed before he headed towards the narrow doorway.

"Hey Liam..." She mumbled when he got to the door, he stopped but didn't turn around. "Whoever... she is... S...she is... isn't worth... it." When he turned to reply he saw the beautiful girl asleep.

"No, I suppose she's not..." He flicked off the light. Liam didn't understand what he was feeling, he'd been with Chloe for over two years and he'd never felt this before. The calming sensation of knowing she was safely asleep, the warmth he felt when she smiled and how contagious her laughter seemed to be.

Arianna woke up the next morning rather confused. She looked around the large guest room anxiously.

What happened last night?

Where am I?

What am I wearing?

She signed with relief when she saw that no-one had seemed to have slept on the other side of the bed and while she wasn't sure whose shirt she was wearing, her p.a.n.t.i.e.s were still on, indicating she probably didn't sleep with anyone.

She got out of bed and went to the window, hoping she was in a hotel or something, but all she saw was greenery and forestland. Slowly she remembered what happened last night, how Liam carried her home, that they almost kissed and that she is wearing his shirt, because she took her dress off in front of him. She was starting to feel rather guilty, he was only just getting over a break up.

As she bent down to pick up her dress she notice a broken picture frame with cracks mapped across the glass. The photo was of Liam and young girl with long straight light brown hair, big grey-blue eyes and dark olive skin. The couple looked so happy, as the girl held up her hand to show off a gold and diamond engagement ring. Holy shit! She wasn't just a girlfriend, he'd broken up with his fiancee.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

The sudden loud bang, startled Arianna causing her to drop the frame and the broken glass fell out onto the floor, cutting her hands.

"Shit!" She cried out in shock.

"Is everything okay?" Liam burst into the room as he heard her cry out. Signed with relief when he saw her standing there startled.

"Sorry..." Arianna bit her bottom lip nervously. "I kind broke the photo frame even more." Liam walked around the bed to see a photo, he'd completely forgotten even existed, broken on the floor.

"It's better off broken." He said coldly. Then noticed blood dripping on to the tiled floor, noticing several fresh slices on the fingers of her right hand. He pulled a baby blue handkerchief from his pocket, without saying a word he gently wrapped the soft, white handkerchief around them. He heart stung as she hissed in pain at the sting from the small cuts. "Sorry."

"It's okay," her voice was timid and shaky. As he tucked the edge of the now bloody handkerchief under the folds."Thank you." she looked up at him with a slightly smile.

The air was filled with the awkward silence as Liam focused on her wounds, then noticed she was still dressed in his shirt.

"Oh you're awake." A sweet voice came from the doorway, causing the two to spin around and see Juliette standing there in a black floral knee length spaghetti strapped dress and tan coloured wedges, her straight blonde hair tied into a long elegant high ponytail, her make was much more simply than the night before. Seeing the the scene before her, Juliette eyes widen as she smiled cheekily. "Sorry to... interrupt. I just came to give you a change of clothes, Felix and are going out for breakfast, you're welcome to join us." She placed a set of folded clothes on the bed then disappeared.

"Well I will leave you to get dressed." Liam turned to exit, when he was stopped by a feeling of a soft warm hand on his wrist.

"Wait." He turned his head back to look at her, she couldn't meet his gaze.

"I...I'm sorry about last night... What I said about your fiancée." She could see his face with her peripheral vision. "...And the... other stuff..." She was anxious about what had happened, Arianna started using her long nails to push her cuticles around her fingernails.

"It's fine. Nothing more than a drunken moment." He said coldly, "let's just forget about it."

He left the room, closing the door behind him, allowing her to get changed. She breathed a sigh of relief, but she couldn't understand why a part of her was disappointed. What did she think he was going to do, he'd just been through a break up with his fiancée. She felt the girl in the photo was much prettier than she was, so he certainly wouldn't see her.

As he left her room, he headed straight for his study, grabbing all the photo of him and Chloe along the way, he threw them all into the fireplace, lighting a match and watching as they all burnt.

Juliette leant against the door frame, arms folded with a smirk on her gentle face, watching her brother burn the photos he once treasured. "Finally burning them hey?"

"Someone told me, she wasn't worth it."

The blonde woman smiled, what would transpire between the heartbroken prince and the princess of isolation?
