The CEO's Rented Wife

Lina was having a discussion with Jimmy, head of the technical team, in her office, when she saw Wang walk into his office. She could see everything from the glass mirror that separated her office from Wang's office.

Wang was being followed by Chunhua. Wang walked towards his boss's chair and had a seat, while Chunhua stood before him.

"Wang, this is not right. You have refused more than half of the models that we've hired. It takes so much effort to search for the models.. take their auditions and then.. shortlist them," Chunhua explained.

"I don't think they were good enough for the catalog shoot," remarked Wang. His attention was soon diverted towards Lina, who was sitting in her office and having a discussion with Jimmy.

Chunhua had noticed Wang getting distracted by Lina. She tried to get Wang's attention back to the topic of discussion. "Not good enough? Some of them are the finest in the industry," said Chunhua.

"I don't want foreign models. Choose the the local models of that particular country, whose fashion range we are going to shoot," Wang ordered.

"But, why?" Asked Chunhua.

"Genuineness! It will all look more genuine.. more authentic. People will relate to them very fast," explained Wang. "I want the models to be aware of the local culture, local language.. and the local trends. This will make them more expressive on the shoots. I don't want blank faces," Wang continued.

"Uff! Not again?" sighed Chunhua as she looked at Wang's face, who was again busy.. observing Lina in the adjoining office.

Wang smiled a little as he observed Lina. "I need purity! Genuineness and purity can make people trust on you," he said as he watched Lina. "The faces have to be lively.. and full of life," Wang continued.

Chunhua was not happy with what was happening. Wang never paid so much attention towards any of the female employees earlier. "Ahmm! Since when did you start paying attention to a model's face?" asked Chunhua.

"Faces are important. They need to reflect purity.. and innocence," said Wang as he looked at Lina again.

Chunhua was surprised at Wang's behavior. "What do you think of this new assistant? Do you think she has a face that you want.. and that you would like?" asked Chunhua, as she pointed towards Lina who was sitting in the adjoining office. Chunhua was, clearly, offended.

Wang turned his gaze back at Chunhua. "W.. what? I don't know," hesitated Wang.

"Do you like her work? How is her performance as your personal assistant?" inquired Chunhua.

"It is too early to judge her. She has just started her job. Let us give her some time," Wang replied.

Chunhua was not happy with Wang paying so much attention to the new personal assistant. "Where was this girl working earlier? How did the human resource department find her?" asked Chunhua.

"You can ask Smith about that. You know that I don't interfere in the human resource department," smiled Wang and shifted his gaze towards his laptop.

"I know that, dear CEO!" Smiled Chunhua. "You only know how to interfere in the departments that I deal in. I wonder what is the secret behind this.." winked Chunhua, as she smiled at Wang and walked towards the office's exit door. "Let me know when you are free.. so we can have a relaxing chat over a cup of coffee," winked Chunhua and walked out of the office.

After Chunhua was gone, Wang looked at Lina for a few seconds. Lina looked at Wang too. Wang returned his gaze back towards his laptop. He did not want the situation be too weird. So, did Lina. She tried to focus on her discussion with Jimmy.

This happened many a times for the rest of the day.
