"Miriam. Don't you dare stop me this time."

"Those bastards! I will-"

"Stop Roman." (Miriam)

"What?! Are you telling me-"

"Look."

Roman wanted to rush at the guards and attack them but was stopped was Miriam. When she told him to look, he saw Rhaxtyx was no longer next to them He was currently emerging from the shadow of one of the guards, his hair white.

"Huh? What the- What is this?! Kugh!"

Without even saying anything Rhaxtyx grabbed the man's head and started muttering something. This angered the soldier even more but it was as if his head was stuck in a small gap between two walls. He couldn't move an inch.

"Let me go! This is an order of the Vulca City Guard! You will release me this-"

The guard's words stopped there as he saw the eyes of Rhaxtyx, shining bright red.

"Ah. De-de-de-de- Demon!"

{ …wrath upon my foes}

*BOOM!"

After Rhaxtyx's muttering ended, soldier's head exploded and his brain matter scattered everywhere. His headless body wobbled for a second and fell backwards. This shocked everyone watching the scene. Gasps could be heard and there were even some people who fainted. I wasn't known who but a scream brought everyone back to their senses and soldiers acted to draw their blades.

"Demon! Kill him!"

But even though he ordered, there was no one to acknowledge this soldier's order. This confused him and he turned to look at other soldiers and he saw a silver glow separate his life. Miriam was quick to work. She saw the opportunity and utilized it to dispose the other soldiers. Rhaxtyx slowly walked towards the cage. His eyes were glowing red because of his rage and his every step was leaving a mark on the ground. The mana around him was like a tornado, not letting anyone approach. His demeanor scared everyone around him stiff. The slaves carrying and pulling the cage were terrified and there were even some liquid ponds under their feet.

Once they saw Rhaxtyx approach them they scattered like flies.

"Badgey."

Badgey jumped from his head and while falling he returned to his original form and snarled at the surrounding. Miriam jumped up the cage and started looking around with her short sword in her hand. Rhaxtyx looked at the cage door and its lock.

"Roman."

"Got it."

With that, Roman came beside him with an axe he took from the carriage. With a swing, the lock was broken. He then went to the other side of the cage and kept watch. Rhaxtyx calmly walked beside Kai and picked her up gently. As he started exiting the cage Miriam's voice was heard.

"Master! 5 coming from the east main road!"

"Okay."

Rhaxtyx jumped down from the cage and lay Kai on Badgey's back with the wolf pup. He then turned towards east. They were in the central district of Vulca so there was a relatively large area to move around. There was a beautiful fountain in the middle of the plaza.

Soldiers and city guards rushed towards them from every possible route. There were easily two hundred soldiers and this number kept on increasing. The civilians were terrified and were running to and fro.

Rhaxtyx only looked at the oncoming horde of enemies. They were surrounding them and were gradually closing the gap.

"Miriam, take Kai from Badgey's back and get ready to move. But don't drop the pup. We are leaving."

After that he aimed his right arm towards one group and started chanting loudly.

{Go fast, at the speed of sound, sonic boom!

Blazing flames of the nether realm come forth

And manifest your wrath upon my foes!}

But before he launched it, he raised his left arm towards the other side and started chanting again.

{Go fast, at the speed of sound, sonic boom!

Blazing flames of the nether real come forth

And manifest you wrath upon my foes}

When Miriam saw this she exclaimed.

"Dual casting! Master!"

But before she could say anything else Rhaxtyx released the two spells and a huge explosion engulfed the city center. A huge dust cloud was around so no one knew what was happening around them. Their vision was limited to about 5 meters.

When the dust settled everybody could see the horrifying scene. Where once countless soldiers and an iron cage stood was now a pit and blood smears all over. Not even a single body part remained. The interesting thing was only the soldiers were dead and none of the innocent civilians received a single scratch.

The ones that were responsible for this scene were absent as well.

"Ah--------!"

"OH MY GOD!"

"Dead! They are all dead!"

"Did you see that!? A demon- a demon has appeared!"

"R-r-r-r-red… Red eyes! His eyes were glowing red!"

Soon after this explosion happened, more soldiers arrived at the scene and calmed the people there and interrogated them. All the people were terrified and rambled on. The ones who could speak were saying useless things like "Red glow!"

"A demon has appeared!"

"We are doomed! We are paying for our sins!"

"Create a perimeter and start a search! We were supposed to get a new slave for the City Lord so look for someone carrying a demi-human!" (Sergeant)

A city-wide search was started to find Rhaxtyx and co. while they have already left the city and were currently going full speed towards a hill with trees. Leaving the city was neither easy nor hard. They encountered a handful of guards and Rhaxtyx slaughtered them all. That's why they couldn't cover their tracks completely.

On the hill while they were looking for a safe place to stop Miriam located a cave and they entered. Even though Rhaxtyx was enraged his head was clear. He could easily keep on killing but he was not alone right now. He couldn't danger Miriam's and Badgey's safety, especially when they were carrying Kai.

He looked at her condition and saw that she was breathing was normal and she was just unconscious. She was beaten a little but she could keep living without repercussions. Her aura was acting normal as well.

"She looks okay for the time being. On the other hand, the pup in her arms…" (Miriam)

"We can give a fitting funeral later. For now I think we should hide and wait until she wakes up." (Roman)

"They will search for us and eventually find us. So I think we shouldn't do what you said. We will have to keep moving at some point." (Rhaxtyx)

"… Very well. We should rest then. I think they won't find our tracks until tomorrow." (Roman)

Rhaxtyx sat down near the entrance of the cave and started keeping watch. Miriam then started tending for Kai's injuries and separated the wolf pup from her arms and wiped the blood from her face. Meanwhile Rhaxtyx was entering his inner world.

"Oi. Tree, come out."

"You know I have a name…"

"You saw everything?"

"Yes."

"Okay so you know I might need more resources to handle these guys. You wanted the pendant so badly and I bought it. Now it's your turn. Do something."

"Affirmative! I'll start working on it. It has a unique seal on it so let me check it out."

"Keep me updated."

After this conversation he returned outside. They were touring the city all day and they could only locate that shop in the night. He looked in the cave and saw Miriam sleeping while hugging Kai. Badgey was sitting near them and were looking at Rhaxtyx. When they locked gazes, it approached him and sat in front of him.

"Badgey. I'll be entering the city again. So keep watch okay?"

Badgey only looked at him. One could see in its eyes that it understood everything; the current situation, Rhaxtyx's feelings and his words' meaning. And it accepted them. The final thing Badgey did before seeing Rhaxtyx off was nodding and returning to the side of Miriam. Rhaxtyx soundlessly left the cave after that.

Before walking for too long he saw Roman was standing in his path with his arms crossed. His face was solemn and his gaze was angry. He was looking at Rhaxtyx while he spoke.

"Where do you think you are going?"

"Isn't it obvious, Roman? Move out of my way."

"I cannot believe it came down to this. I wish you don't leave but there's nothing I can do to stop you as well. So kill some for me as well alright? I'll keep watch."

"You can rest assured as I'll kill even for Badgey."

With that he didn't turn back and headed towards the city. Roman looked at his back with a complicated gaze and then returned. Miriam was awake and was looking him from the cave entrance.

"Did you tell him to be careful?"

"Do you think he is an idiot to that degree? I'm sure he knows what he's doing."

"Let's just hope that he returns to us safely. Even though he cannot die-"

"He can still feel pain. I'm sure there's no greater pain for him right now. We can do nothing but trust him. Let's head inside."

"…Mhm."

Rhaxtyx's gaze was serious and the air around him seemed to drop by a few degrees. While he was headed towards the city, his Yggdrasil called out.

"Hey. I lifted the seal. It was not that strong!"

"So?"

"It is a special item alright. The magic contained within is really powerful."

"Is it for attacking?"

"No it is for comprehending. Some expert left their knowledge in this pendant. Probably for their disciple or something."

"What can I do with that?"

"This means that you can comprehend the specific fields of magic without extra work! What else do you want, shooting fireballs from your eyes?!"

"Really? Then I can be at ease and slaughter to my heart's content!"

"There's one more thing."

"What?"

"You should be careful with that Shadow Art. It is changing you. You were never this volatile. You have changed! You should not forget who you are Rhaxtyx, lest you become corrupted!"

"Do you think I give a f.u.c.k about that right now? Don't be too nosey with my business."

With a new trump card in his sleeves, Rhaxtyx picked up pace. The soldiers were still searching for them inside the city and none were looking for their tracks outside.

"They still think we are inside the city huh? That's fine."

He approached the wall of the city and stopped near its moat. The moat was 10 meters wide and the walls were 20 meters high. Rhaxtyx just looked and backed up a couple of meters.

"You sure you can jump that high?"

"What are you talking about? I'm a God!"

Rhaxtyx started running until he reached the moat. Then he kicked the ground with a force that rivaled a boar's headbutt. He launched upwards and landed on the edge of the wall. With a running jump he covered a 20 meter high wall!

"What did I tell you?"

"Stop gloating. There are enemies on the walls after all."

Like his skill tree said, there were soldiers patrolling on the walls with torches. Each torch represented three soldiers and they had a 20 second interval. Rhaxtyx landed just in the middle of a group and he would be seen very soon. So without missing a beat, he ran towards the group that passed him and instantly broke one of the soldiers neck with a kick.

"Enemy!"

"That's right.

{Blazing flames of the nether realm come forth!}

*Poof!"

"Khk! You bastard!"

Rhaxtyx blasted off the soldier's head with a point blank Firebolt and dodged the other guy's sword strike. Without losing his momentum he rotated and punched. He then followed with a straight jab and a final kick to his c.h.e.s.t. The guard didn't have the chance to defend himself at all.

The other group was approaching quickly so Rhaxtyx quickly chanted two Firebolts and aimed them at the enemy. He threw the spell towards them and charged. He picked up a sword from one of the soldiers he killed and sliced.

After disposing that group in seconds, he descended the stairs and entered the streets. He was like a death god in his playground. Every city guard Rhaxtyx came across would die in seconds with the combination of spells and sword attacks. Even though he was not that good with the sword, his natural physical prowess was more than enough to cover for that.

The city guards became restless because of this. They were just a police force! They weren't equipped to go against a monster of this scale! That is why the main force of Vulca started to move soon after Rhaxtyx began his slaughter.

This force gathered the reports of the remaining troops about Rhaxtyx and tried to locate him. But Rhaxtyx's speed was a huge hurdle for them. He would kill a team in one part of the city and when they received the report he would kill another in the opposite of the city.

Rhaxtyx too, was getting bored and impatient.

"When the hell is the fun guys move?"

His wish would come true soon. When he was near the city centre, where he first displayed his power, he saw a rather different team of soldiers. He immediately stopped and observed them. Their weapon and armor quality were better and they had a different atmosphere around them Their auras were sharp like a sword.

"Heh. If I wished for something else."

Without any hesitation he walked out to the open and greeted his adversaries.

"Good evening gentlemen. Are you having a good time?"(Rhaxtyx)

"Hmm? Are you the one who killed my fellow Vulca citizens?" (???)

"No no no. I've only killed soldiers, not innocent citizens."

"What's the god damn difference?!"

"The difference is that you don't have a conscious. That is why I'm here to deliver judgment on you."

"Hmph! You talk big! Let's see if you have the ability though. I, captain of the First Brigade Kalim Nervhia shall receive you!"
