The Referee just stood there with his eyes wide open, while all the spectators turned and saw the screen with Tang Yao at his end of the arena, and the other side of the arena gone.

All of a sudden all the spectators started cheering, of course Tang Yao didn't hear the cheering, instead he turned towards the Referee and said, "Isn't there another round?"

"Ah yes of course. The Arena will be repaired in preparation for round 2 of this fight!" yelled the Referee, who was still a little bit dazed from the explosion.

After 2 minutes the arena was completely fixed, and the young man spawned back, and was confused.

All he heard was that his opponent said Explode and the next thing he knew, his vision turned black, and there was a screen that said, "You've been killed."

As soon as the Referee finished the count down once more, the young man immediately deployed all of his defensive spells which he knew.

Tang Yao just looked at him and sighed, this time he wanted a bigger explosion so he player 50% of his Qi worth of explosives on the young man, and said, "Explode!"

The young man was prepared, but his vision instantly turned black.

This time the explosion was more magnificent, everything within thousands of meters was completely destroyed only the referee who was flying, and Tang Yao who was floating was left.

When the spectators saw this they were quiet for 10 whole seconds, before they started to cheer like crazy.

"Hmm, I want to be Megumin from Konosuba." said Tang Yao, while he got out of his capsule.

He still wasn't aware of the commotion he caused, when he got back to his room, he saw Gandalf there sitting.

"Good job." said Gandalf

"He was way too weak." said Tang Yao

"In your terms of strength, no one he is capable of fighting with you." said Gandalf

"Then why am I here again?" questioned Tang Yao

"I gave you magic, and a staff! All you had to do was attend this damn Magic Competition for me!" said Gandalf, who slightly angry at Tang Yao.

"When is my next match?" asked Tang Yao

"You'll have your next match, at match 100, and then if you win your other matches will be tomorrow." said Gandalf, "and you better not lose, if you do lose I'll make you suffer an unimaginable punishment!"

"Yeah, alright then." said Tang Yao

"Hmm, I've already had 1 match, and to get to the Quarterfinals, I'll need to win 10 more matches." said Tang Yao.

Before long, it was time for his next match, it was a young girl, with round glasses, a witch hat, and a broom. The girl even cackled, at the start of the match. The girl flew around in circles around Tang Yao, while casting random magic at him.

"*sigh* Explode!" shouted Tang Yao, and the witch girl, was blown up into smithereens.

The 2nd round was won in a similar way.

The spectators had already given him a name, Prince of Explosions.

When Tang Yao heard the name, he wanted to puke.

Tang Yao was one of the many dark horses in this competition.

After his match, the first day of the competition was concluded.

Out of 10,000 magicians, 5,000 were eliminated and brought into the loser bracket. Tomorrow he would have to partake in 9 matches to get to the quarter finals.

After the competition Tang Yao to go find Gandalf, but when he found him, he was drunk with several other old men with white hair.

So he just gave up and wandered the city.

Unknowingly to him, several noble magicians saw Tang Yao as a threat to them, and sent some people to monitor him, or even take care of him.

Apparently the magic competition took place in the capital city of the Kolyma Kingdom, The city was called The City of Luminosity.

As the name of the city implied, everywhere you go in the city was extremely bright, there was no difference between day and dark.

"Geez, how do people sleep?" questioned Tang Yao.

As he was wondering around, he sensed several people following him with murderous intent.

"So cliche what the heck, a dark horse appears in a competition, and then rich nobles send their men to attempt to kill the dark horse, however they fail, and and the MC wins the whole competition while sustaining serious injuries from the attack." said Tang Yao, before turning around and walking towards the people following him.
