The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

"The evidence, Sir Cedric. Who can know better than an Imperial Judge? You can't accuse even a commoner here without evidence".

Kalki's voice turns cold as he stares solemnly at Cedric.

Sir Cedric could only remain silent helplessly.

How could he present any evidence when no one has returned from The Southern Realm? No matter whom he sent, no one returned with any evidence!

Kalki's battalions are guarding the borders like an iron wall. Even though they allowed the people who were disguised as strangers, they were not allowed to come out.

No one was skilful enough to escape from the Southern Realm!

With these thoughts Sir Cedric grunts in anger.

Kalki takes an edit on the table in front of him.

He stops before opening it. He suddenly turns back towards Maya and declares calmly "I give Her Highness the last chance to change her wish".

Maya "...?!" 

Why would I change my words? If it's about the danger that they would put me in, I am not a coward or weakling to change my words now. Even when I was not interfering, some still attacked me. Why would I waste this chance to get that pavilion in my name? Moreover, won't he look down on me even more if I fear and go back on my words?

You wish!

Maya looks at him with a knowing look and speaks faintly "I don't change the words I uttered, Your Highness. I still stand for what I have asked".

Kalki hides his arrogant smirk, hearing her words and opens the edict slowly.

"I, The Crown Prince of The Northern Realm announce that from this day, The Countryside Pavilion which is located in the Northern Realm beside The Southern River belongs to The Queen Consort as the reward of this year's Wish Ride Contest-"

"You can't bestow that Pavilion to your wife unless you bring something impossible, Your Highness".

A calm voice echoed in the court.

An old man who has been sitting silently till speaks nonchalantly. He must be so confident to remain so careless.

Xavier frowns as soon as the old man speaks and gets nervous.

'Sir Louis? Why would he oppose Xander? He never lost any argument over the years and he rarely spoke. If he objects to Xander then…'

He looks at Kalki worriedly. .

Kalki pretends to be confused and asks "I wonder why, Sir Louis ?"

Xavier hears Kalki's tone and sighs.

'He knows what to do. I wonder how this will end today...'

Sir Louis smiled kindly and said "The Countryside Pavilion's possession could be changed only when you present a copy of 'The Treaty of Realms' in this hearing, Prince Kalki. I hardly believe you are unaware of this''.

Kalki squints his eyes and declares coldly "You are talking about the so-called copies of the 'Treaty of Realms' which were burnt in an accident".

Sir Louis shrugs with no concern and says "Well, It's unfortunate that happened a long time ago".

Kalki declares Sir Louis's mind "So the possession of the Pavilion can't be changed till the destroyed copies of The Treaty arrive today".

Sir Louis frowns and speaks strictly "Indeed".

Kalki smiles coldly "Don't you think we have to change the rules when we need few changes?"

Sir Louis speaks nonchalantly "Nothing can happen unless a copy of the Treaty is presented".

Footsteps!

Maya turned her head towards the entrance of the court as she heard the footsteps approaching.

Kalki raises his head arrogantly and announces "If that's what The Imperial Court demands, then this Crown Prince will present the only evidence which has complete information of The Treaty signed between the realms".

Sir Louis frowns displeased and snaps "What?!"

Kalki walks down slowly announcing "The Northern Realm welcomes… The Crown Prince of The Western Realm, Prince Ryan!"

Everyone gasps and in no time the entrance of the court hall was opened loudly.

Bang!

Heavy footsteps of a man walking inside the court hall can be heard.

Xavier's face is filled with surprise, disbelief and is astonished by Kalki's move!

Even though he was unaware of the Treaty signed, as only the Crown Princes of the four realms can be allowed to know the information, he is happy to see The Crown Prince Ryan after a long time!

'How long has it been? Ten years? And Brother Ryan is here to help us! No wonder! Xander… he is invincible!  What can he not do?!'

The Crown Prince Ryan walks inside the court hall with a tough face and stops right in the middle of the hall. 

Sir Louis asks astonished "But... How can it exist? The Treaty were-".

Kalki smirks "Burnt in a fire accident ten years after it was signed. Is that your statement, Sir Louis?".

"...?!" How did he know?!

He calms himself to speak but he doesn't speak. He couldn't take this shock in his old age.

As soon as the Crown Prince Ryan's eyes caught him, Sir Louis closed his mouth instantly.

Who would have thought The Western Realm's Crown Prince will appear to rescue The Northern Realm's Crown Prince?! Wouldn't they normally fight amongst themselves for power?! The Royals kill their own blood when it comes to the throne and here a cousin brother steps in?!

Sir Louis gulps hard before stammering "Y-Yes.."

'Something is not right. They are up to something! They can't have a copy of the Treaty! They can't!'

Sir Louis looks around and sees the representatives from other Realms were watching everything stunned. They didn't even know how he got the copy of the treaty. Till now they are not even aware of the fact that a copy of the Treaty exists!

Kalki walks towards Ryan and smirks faintly. Ryan didn't show any emotion but his eyes were.

Kalki speaks looking at everyone "The copies were indeed destroyed by an accident but not everyone's were destroyed except for ..."

"The Western Realm's".

Maya gasps as she hears the stern man speak. Even though she felt scared, she frowned suspiciously. 

'Why doesn't he look intimidating after seeing his face? Wait… Have I seen him before?'
