The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Sarah notices Maya staring at the glows and explains "Glows are to represent that Mam is married into the Royalty. No normal people will wear glows in their hands in this country except the Madams who married the Royal Princes".

Maya raises her eyebrows and mocks "Now you are giving everyone the sign that I am a Royal? So that they won't mistake me like Christopher did?".

Sarah smiles blushing "Mam has caught my real intention. By this arrangement, you will remain safe".

Maya shakes her head and remains silent till Sarah finishes doing her hair.

After Sarah finishes her works, Maya looks at her reflection in the mirror and blinks in confusion.

'I thought I would look different in these clothes! Everyone does... I saw many girls in my village look entirely different even when they change wearing saree from half-saree. But why am I looking the same?!'.

Maya wasn't excited to wear different clothes at first as she was feeling terrible after knowing her book had been burnt.

Now after seeing herself in mirror looking the same, she is even more sad.

'Why? Why would I come here?! At least my healing book would have been safe! I am paying for my temptations!'.

Sarah asks hesitantly "Mam? Are you still worrying about the clothes? I will get them at any cost soon!".

Maya sighs waving her hands "Please don't. I don't want them desperately. In fact these clothes are quite warm..They are just suffocating previously".

Maya is examining the layers of skirts in that gown curiously.

Sarah smiles looking at Maya playing with her gown and asks "Mam? Can I call The General now?".

Maya frowns but nods seriously.

'Stupid me! Leaving the actual issue, I have been daydreaming about the dresses! Now what should I do? Should I order him straight? No...How can he ignore Emperor's order? I should stay here for few more days, so that the woman gets fine and leaves with her children...'.

Her mind subconsciously asks her.

'What an impressive thinking?! How will you save her from the penalty? Are you going to order for that too?! Who will obey you other than your own servants here?! They soldiers working for Emperor! Not for an abandoned commoner!'.

DOOR OPENED!

Maya turns to see Celina entering with a vase and flowers.

She bows towards Maya and starts arranging them.

Maya asks "Can you help me with something..please?".

Celina chirps holding her both hands against her c.h.e.s.t "Yes! Mam! I will! What should I do? I will do anything I ask for!".

She runs towards Maya and holds her hands in ecstasy. She whispers winking "I can even help you go out of this place without knowing anyone! But just to nearby places. Not far from there!".

Maya's temptations start working hearing her 'Going out without knowing? This girl is very productive. ..LATER!'. Maya snaps out from her thoughts and smiles "I just want you to write something for me".

Celina smiles even brighter "I know to write too! I even get a lot of appreciations from my teachers for writing so well!!".

Maya chuckles "Alright! Filial student help me!".

Maya likes this girl as she is not like Sarah who is keeping distance from her.

Even after asking her to call by her name, Sarah didn't treat her like a normal one. But this girl never restricted herself. Just like how Maya is.

Maya looks at Celina gesturing her to speak.

Celina asks "Mam? To whom you want to write this?".

Maya takes a deep breath and speaks "The Emperor!".

Celina gets scared but nods pursing her lips.

Maya smiles surprised 'She is scared yet she didn't step back! Seems I have found someone like me' and tells her the content.

Sarah enters the room and finds Celina's smiling face.

'If she is happy, something is not right. Is she upto something? I won't allow her to disturb Mam! I should warn her again later!!'.

Sarah looks at Maya and informs bowing "Mam. The General In charge will be here in a minute".

Maya nods and asks "Is there any way I could stay in this place Sarah? I don't want to go to the Palace now".

Sarah shakes her head "No Mam. No one would disobey Emperor's edict".

Maya pouts "Would they obey my order? As you call me your Queen, I too should deserve some powers right?".

Sarah nods obediently "Absolutely Mam! We are your servants! We should obey Our Queen not only us even every servants in Royal Palace ought to obey Mam".

Maya smirks "Very well then!".

THE GENERAL IN CHARGE HAS APPEARED!!

Sarah bows hearing the announcement "I will open the door".

Robin enters the room and kneels to greet Maya "Long live Madam!".

Maya chuckles "If I get some soldiers like your fellowmen, how can I live so long Sir?".

Robin hangs his head down in embarrassment.

'Why shouldn't The Earth just swallow me?!'.

He bows ashamed "I beg Madam's mercy! This servant deserves to die for making this grave mistake!".

Maya looks back at Sarah who stood closely behind her and gestures whispering "What should I tell him to make him stand? Do you have any separate 'Royal ritual' to do?".

Robin frowns hearing unusual whispering voices.

Sarah stops herself from laughing and says "A word is enough Mam. Tell him to raise".

Maya clears her throat and speaks in an ordering tone "You may raise!".

Maya looks back at Sarah excitedly as if asking for her acknowledgement.

'How did I do?!'.

GIGGLES!!

Sarah rolls her eyes and looks back at Celina who was giggling behind her. Obviously she is laughing at Maya's actions.

Robin is confused seeing some weird conversations between the women and waits patiently to let them finish.

Celina smiles brightly at Maya nodding as appreciation.

Sarah turns after giving a warning look to Celina and just nods at Maya.

Maya smiles getting Sarah's nod and looks back at Robin's confused face. She wanted Sarah's acknowledgement in this matter.

'I shouldn't believe Celina, that girl could not guide me when I want to be obedient!'.
