The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Maya is feeling disgusted to even sit beside a man who worsh.i.p.s The Royal people and more than that he justifies them!. She stands shivering.

She didn't expect the climate would be so chilly. If she had known, she would have decided to stay in that 'hell'.

'I thought that I could learn something from this man but now I don't even want to speak to him!'.

Without telling Xavier anything, she stands and walks away from him.

'I thought I could be at peace here! Now I have to walk all the way to the Pavilion in this freezing climate'.

She looks back at him still leaning as if he was still mad at her. She too doesn't care.

Maya walks back to the Pavilion. As Xavier said, she doesn't fear anything. It's because her father used to travel more. Sometimes Maya used to follow him in darkness which would be easy for her to sneak without knowing others.

But she always ended up in midway while her father would suddenly vanish. She never found where her father would go. Everytime he had left by saying that he was going to meet someone or few friends sometimes.

Maya found this always suspicious.

She suddenly realizes something and looks at the bandage in her hand.

'Should I check it-'.

"Who did this to you?!".

Sudden voice from behind made her to jump in fright.

Xavier was indeed angry at her. But seeing her going alone all by herself, he can't be angry at her anymore. He starts to follow her.

'She is new to the country after all... She might have misinterpreted! I shouldn't have been harsh towards her...'.

But when he saw the huge bandage in her hand made him to get concerned.

One can't be angry at the person they care genuinely.

Maya tries to hide her hand as she is not interested in showing her injury to everyone. Not to a person who is so loyal to 'him'!. She doesn't even know whether it is healed!.

Xavier has already stood close behind her and walks towards her. His deep voice and speed of walking showed that he is extremely worried.

Maya couldn't believe her own eyes.

'Is he the same person who swore to punish me for blaming The Crown Prince?!'.

Xavier grabs her hand carefully "When and how did you hurt yourself? Did anyone hurt you?!".

Maya pulls her hand back from him and scoffs "What if you can't punish the person? Or else..what if he works for your Lord Crown Prince?!".

'What if The Crown Prince himself hurt me? Would you dare to punish him-'.

Xavier grunts "It would be grateful if you stop blaming him for everything My Lady. Now show me your hand!". He forwards his hand demanding her hand to be forwarded.

Maya looks his hand forwarded towards her and contemplates 'Can I trust him? It's disappointing me that he respects Him ! No...I can't trust him.. What if the injury healed?! How could I answer him if he sees my healed hand with this cotton gauges?! Even it didn't heal..how can I tell him the truth that how I got hurt in the first place?! I am trapped!!'.

Xavier stares at her worriedly "Believe me My Lady. I won't hurt you. I can help you to heal fast if it's really serious. I have some special medicine that can cure any injuries faster".

Maya swallows and tries to step back but Xavier's concerned voice took her by surprise.

Xavier nods his head slowly as if coaxing her to make her do what he wants.

Maya forwards her hand in a trance as his simple gesture of care made her completely surrender herself to him.

'My self control just flies away when it comes to this Disguised-Strangerman with a Demanding voice! Who is this man?'.

Xavier starts untying the bandage and removes the cotton gauges from her injury. Maya is just trying to look at his face which was oblivious due to the darkness. But she is very aware of his voice. She can point him in any crowd even with her closed eyes!.

This thought made her happy weirdly.

Xavier frowns and looks at Maya with a frown "My Lady?".

Maya reflects his frown and looks at her hand only to open her eyes wide in shock!.

'It's ....healed?! How?! When?!'.

Xavier is puzzled by her shock too.

Maya gets restless and anxious at the same time.

She couldn't handle the shocks anymore. First, she looked her glowing hands while killing Stephen. Second, her wound suddenly got cured itself! The most surprising and depressing thing is Maya couldn't find anything about herself. She only felt an overwhelming urge to destroy everyone and everything around her while killing Stephen!

She never saw her hands glowing like that.

'No injury would get cured before a single day. Now every patterns that I guessed and kept understood about this Curse are shattered in a single day! Not really... Even something strange happened before..How did I survive that poison?

Xavier asks confused seeing Maya standing dumbfounded "Seems you got caught?".

'Was she pretending?... To get some sympathy from whoever people she asked to help her? Indeed she is witty.. Who would neglect to help a beautiful girl? And specifically when she is hurt!'.

Xavier smirks "Let me tie it back for you. So that you won't get caught there".

Maya is still thinking seriously and tries to ignore whatever he says.

Xavier's actions only irked her.

She needs to go and spend some time alone. To gather herself and her fearful thoughts.

'What new things did I do recently? Especially in this day? Is this because I saved that woman? No... If so I must be in pain when she died! Or.. will my pain reduce if I try to reduce others miseries?'.

Maya suddenly felt enlightened!

'That's what the cure is?! Oh My Heavens! I wasted my whole life living selfishly and searching this selfless way?!'.
