Victor gives her a gentle smile looking at her confused face. He can see through her mind and her fear which was obvious on her face. She couldn't mask anything with those speaking eyes!.

"Miss! Remember one thing Miss. Our Crown Prince would never disrespect the Emperor's words. If Miss is afraid of being abandoned, then you should get rid of that thought from your mind".

Maya gives him a doubtful glance 'Just what is he talking about? Does he really know about our truth? ...that we are not married?'. She is tempted to ask him.

She recalls Kalki's words 'Your Lordship wants to keep it that way'.

She doesn't want to make Crown Prince angry by blurting everything out without his knowledge. So she decides to keep her mouth shut about the truth.

Victor sees her face still anxious and says "Miss...I have been the Emperor's personal servant for many years. I have seen Crown Prince grow up. So I can swear on my life that Crown Prince would never abandon his wedded wife even though he doesn't like her for now. I request Miss to wait for sometime so that Crown Prince would think about this peacefully. This war is making him like this. He has been a responsible one among the heirs so please be patient".

Maya laughs at herself 'He is swearing on his life? Of course he would abandon me...after all..we are not married..I just wish he returns soon so that I could decide about this matter soon..'. Complicated emotions passed in her heart and looks at Victor.

After hearing his words, she couldn't help let her guard a little down.

Maya asks "Sir.. Can I ask you something?".

Victor nods curtly.

She asks "I...I need to know how much ....Why did Crown Prince lead the war while the country is facing the famine!".

She couldn't ask how much money would she be needed to build a dam directly. Because she wanted to know about 'his' point of view.

'Is he really ambitious?'.

Victor creases his eyebrows lightly and says "I really wish to tell Miss the whole story. But I am not in the right position to tell everything now. Miss should remember this too. This war is very important to our country than the previous one. A King can forgive his enemy-".

"But should never ignore his betrayers!" Maya completes the saying out of habit.

Of course she knew that. She is not an illiterate like Kalki said. She had learnt the war ethics at her very young age! Thankfully she remembered some till now after she got banned from her education by her father. A different and long story. Let's get back here.

Her smile broadened thinking 'This war should be between him and his betrayers! No matter what Betrayers should be wiped off ! With no mercy!'.

Victor eyes shown a mysterious glint as if he found something precious but nods.

Both hears a sound of horse which is whining. He excuses himself immediately "This servant needs to leave now".

Maya turns stop him but only saw the empty room.

'I forgot to ask him about the dam!'.

Sarah comes with tea for them and sees Victor already went and kneels immediately "This servant deserves to be punished!".

Maya was taken aback and asks "What happened?!".

Sarah apologizes "This servant came late and deserves the punishment!".

Maya raises her both eyebrows surprised and scoffs sarcastically "Do you really like being punished?".

Sarah could only stay still. She really know that Maya wouldn't punish like other Princesses and Mams in the palace do but she still know that she is going to get punished!.

Maya ridicules seeing her still kneeling, in disbelief "You are really expecting me to punish you?".

'Is she expecting me to hurt her?! How could I? She is the only person here to help and I could talk with...'.

Maya knew very well that Sarah wasn't late but the Servant went so soon because of some reason. She could easily guess the horse's sound was some signal for him to return. She also noticed his voice lightly trembled while excusing himself.

Did you hear her? Don't you feel she is overlooking and oversmarting there?. Anyways.

Maya chuckles "If you really like being punished, then I will punish you!".

Sarah purses her lips tight and nods lightly. She recalls her last punishment from The Princess Veronica...20 whip slashes.. Subconsciously she clutched her both fists tight and expected the punishment from Maya.

Maya looks at her fear and realizes that Sarah is indeed got ready for the punishment. She smiles faintly and walks before her and sit in front of kneeling Sarah.

She rests her chin on her hand and keeps on looking trembling Sarah.

'I too will see how long you would be kneeling. Why is she shivering? Does she get punished like this regularly? If so, I should not allow any of that again!'.

Sarah felt her knees sour and tries to open her eyes. As soon as she opened her eyes, she gasps shocked and fell backwards.

She didn't expect Maya would be sitting right in front of her ... she is lost in understanding what was happening before her.

'Why is Mam sitting...on the floor!? Am I dreaming?!'.

Maya laughs lightly "I knew you can't take this anymore! Now hear my punishment!".

Sarah's face turned sad and nods kneeling again "Yes Mam!".

Maya just looks at her sadly.

'Did she really get punished before? She is just my age! How can someone could be so cruel to punish her? If Royals did that, then they should be heartless! Who would punish her for what he had done? It's not a mistake at all!'.

Her kind heart would be a big advantage for her in future for getting her d.e.s.i.r.ed thing. Would that kind heart could be fortune enough to get what her heart would really d.e.s.i.r.ed for?.
