The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Maya looks around the chamber and rubs her palm on her skirt as they are completely drenched in cold sweats by now.

She walks looking around in alert.

'Could they see me just like I do? How to find it? First, I should escape from this chamber and take a look at Myself in future. I wonder where I am staying in my future... Did they chase me out of the Palace?!!'.

Maya is about to walk towards the door but stops suddenly hearing Sarah.

"You have to be there, Maya... We can't humiliate ourselves in front of the Imperial Court. Being the country's Empress, you should visit the court personally-".

Maya opens her eyes wide and turns back towards the giant arm chair with her complete focus!

'Maya?! Me?!...'

After few moments, something finally hits Maya's brain like lightening.

'Empress?!'.

Maya felt her breaths itched and walks slowly so that she could face the person sitting in the huge arm chair.

As soon as she gets the glimpse of the person, she stands stoned seeing all the glory of herself in the Royal attire...as..The Empress.

Maya almost melted staring at the image of herself in front of her, as she has never looked herself so gorgeous.

She didn't care of anything anymore. It's weird to see herself in a mesmerizing way right before her. But she felt her whole body booming with happiness and pride.

She couldn't help w.h.i.n.e mentally 'Was I wrong the whole time? Was I meant to be an Empress?! Did I really underestimated myself as a mere commoner?!'.

Before she could think further, the 'Empress ' before her spoke viciously "Ask them to leave! I am not stepping out of this chamber at any cost!".

Sarah takes a step back startled as she didn't expected Empress Maya's sudden harsh tone.

Even Maya jolted from her daze hearing the sound from 'Empress'.

Sarah bows sadly "T-This servant understands..".

Saying so, Sarah runs out of the chamber in the verge of crying.

Maya notices Sarah's tears and walks towards The Empress.

I would be mentioning our Future Maya as the Empress from now on. Because it's very difficult to narrate. After all both are same person!

Maya feels bad for Sarah and frowns looking at The Empress in front of her. She is nowhere close to her. She felt as if she is seeing an entirely different person.

She walks in front of the Empress. Something pinched her heart seeing the aloof expression on The Empress's face.

Maya creases her eyebrows at a harsh injury on The Empress's shoulder contrasting her flawless skin.

'How in the world did she survive the injury?! Huh..I..How did I survive the injury?!'.

Thinking that The Empress could not see her, Maya forwards her hand towards the injury.

'If she had noticed me, she would have screamed by now. At least, she would have acknowledged my presence. I would do it after all ..I am this Empress. So why should I be bothered now? Let me examine the injury'.

Maya wonders while forwarding her hand.

'Did she become a statue?! What is with this posture? As if she is a born Empress-'.

Just before she could touch the injury, the Empress holds Maya's hand firmly startling Maya.

Maya was spell bound with the grip, that she did completely forget to scream while staring at The Empress's expressionless face.

"Watch yourself, Maya!".

Maya "..." Heavens! Why am I scared of 'myself'?!  Do I always look this scary?!.

But she couldn't help get impressed by her own self.

'Does everyone fear the Empress? Just like me?!'.

The Empress finally stares right into Maya's bright eyes which are shining in complete admiration.

'If I would become this gorgeous in my future, I would risk my life countless times in this country! Just feel My Aura! I am feeling invincible!! Even though literally it's not me, I still feel the pride blooming in me!! I am the Empress for Universe's sake!!'.

The Empress with zero expression flicks Maya's hand in disdain and stands muttering "I hope you change yourself soon for your sake!".

Maya is about to rebuke but the Empress closes Maya's mouth swiftly.

She warns staring Maya in the dead eye "Dare you make a sound and waste my endless efforts! I will kill you with my own hands! I will not even care for my very own future!".

Maya only blinks innocently "..."

As she is dumbfounded by facing her own rage. She has been on the sending end and never been in the receiving end of her rage.

Maya gulps helplessly as she too doesn't want to fail her 'own' efforts.

The Empress releases Maya from her grip and asks looking Maya in her corner of her eyes "Did you attend your first dinner in the Royal Palace?".

Maya could only nod in a daze.

The Empress gets serious and asks "When?".

Maya tries to use her hands to tell that was the previous day.

The Empress makes a displeased expression and asks creasing her eyebrows "Yesterday?".

Maya smiles brightly and nods waiting for an appreciation

The Empress only asked in complete anger "Did you finish your first performance in the Imperial Court then?".

Maya only winces at her harsh tone and purses her lips.

'What's wrong with her?! I did the ridhr thing!'.

The Empress thinks something serious and sighs defeated as if still something didn't happen which she expected.

She mutters to herself "It's still late... But-".

She speaks holding Maya harshly "Listen to me. You have no idea what is waiting for you in the future. So, you will do what I order you now-".

Maya creases her eyebrows hearing the Empress and pulls her hand back harshly from The Empress's grip.

The Empress is taken aback by her sudden move and looks back at Maya blankly as if she didn't expect this from Maya.

Maya crosses her hands and looks at The Empress sternly.

'I would never yield to other's ego! Even if it's mine!'.
