The Demon King Seems to Conquer the World

Episode 072: Meet in the Woods

I stayed overnight at the Inn on the way, and at sundown the next day, I had come all the way to the border between Siyarta and Kirchna.

The border between the two countries is divided by a natural river called the Orto River.

I was watching the Olt River as I lowered the stardust to the ground and gave it a break.

The Orto River is spoken of in a set with a valley called the Orto Valley, which itself made by shredding the earth.

The Orto Valley was, when I saw it now, a valley that seemed difficult to cross.

With a depth of more than ten metres in the valley, and rocky skin, you won't want to climb down and cross the rocks with your hands and feet, no matter how hasty you are.

I see. I also want to make it a border. The terrain.

Looking now, beneath the steep valley, I could see the river flowing.

Now the river is narrow and narrow, but if a full summer were given, it would increase water with snowmelt water and that would already be a terrible momentum.

Speaking of its momentum, it is as famous as a bridge streaming river, and there are only two bridges on this river now and ever.

One is a bridge called the Hot Bridge, built downstream of the river, where the stream has become calmer as well.

And the other was the Zook Bridge upstream.

The Zook Bridge I'm looking at was crowded with people now.

These people will be the ones who will listen to the news of the war and try to put Kirchna behind them.

Everyone was walking toward Siyarta.

I've never actually seen a bridge called the Zook Bridge before, but I've seen it in pictures.

As far as I'm concerned, a little scenic spot, a zuck bridge with mountains and valleys on its back, seems to be a classic in landscape painting.

Sure, it would be quite a scenic building to look at in the ordinary course of time.

But now that there are refugees, it has become a sight more deserving as the subject of war paintings than landscape paintings.

I was told that the bridge leg was a grand imperial architecture.

But now that I saw it, I wondered if this could be called architecture.

However, the degree of architectural skill is sufficient.

The central bridge leg of the Zuck Bridge was built to parasitize, to an isolated rock in the middle of the river.

The natural rocks at the base of the bridge leg were reinforced by large stone walls so that they would not be shredded any further by the river stream, with stone walls protruding sharp corners toward the upstream.

It would be part of this protection that the architects of Tai Ancient made while wet in the river.

Natural rocks are worn stone shoes, and their standing toes are a good fit to crack the river.

On the rock that jumped out on it, the bridge leg was built again.

Unfortunately, the bridge legs and bridges above from the rocks are not from the Great Imperial period.

The bridge there was broken by an earthquake about a hundred years ago, and the bridge we have now was rebuilt around that time.

However, it appeared that the Zook Bridge was now undergoing further modifications.

Work is still underway on the downstream side of the Zook Bridge.

Me too, this is the first time I've heard of it since I've just been here, and it looks like we're talking about expanding the Zook Bridge in anticipation of the traffic getting worse from now on.

Probably the discretion of the Rube family.

Even so, they don't mean regular expansion, so let's set up thick wooden columns over the remainder of the rock and tailor an easy wooden bridge. That seems to be the case.

In other words, next to the stone bridge, the plan is to build another wooden bridge and make it double-wired.

The stone pile artisans were not there, and all the workers were carpenters with noodles, etc.

The purpose for which I came to this inspection was the need to look down and for another reason.

I wanted to check the coordinates of the major cities.

Getting around in Wang Eagle is a surprisingly inconvenient thing to do, and even flying with an eye is hard to put on your destination.

So remember the positional relationship between the town and the town, or try to navigate the route that travels on the ground, moving with the street under your eyes.

But you don't have to do that if you know the coordinates of the city.

If only I knew the coordinates, I'd make a map.

A map with the correct shape of a coastline or border can be time-consuming and difficult to make, but it can be much more difficult if you just note the location of the city on the map.

If only I knew the coordinates, I wouldn't have to be confused about moving anywhere I didn't know.

Because before you fly, you just need to compass to the map, check in which direction you have your destination, and fly in a straight line.

So I was going around town one by one that seemed important, and I was working on ascertaining the coordinates.

While I was doing that, I had three days.

West of the capital of the kingdom of Kirchna, the towns along the streets were spreading rumors one after another by evacuees, in disturbing air.

There are many strangers, security is temporarily deteriorating, and it is not an atmosphere where you can keep luxury items such as Wang Eagle and stay in your accommodation.

So when I bought in the raw meat while taking the king eagle, I was trying to get out of the city as soon as possible.

Then, during the day, he makes observations with a hexameter around noon.

At night, if it's clear, check the position of the North Star and check for magnetic deviations.

However, wherever measured, this peninsula seems to be an area with little magnetic deviation, and the compass needle always pointed to the North Star, which didn't make much sense.

At night I secured a place to sleep before sundown and walked through the woods looking for branches.

It's still cold at night this time of year.

I needed to build an incendiary before nightfall.

I walked into the back of the woods that day, searching lightly for branches, as usual.

As I picked up the branches that were falling all over it, the sun set.

In order for the local inhabitants to take firewood, they will find a few wood-cut places and make an incineration there.

When I put together ten branches or so, I tore the paper with my hands and stained the volatile oil I had in the bottle.

When I did a spark with a firestone on top of it, the fire immediately caught on.

When the fire was transferred to a thin, burning branch, the fire gradually spread.

Once the momentum is gained, it will not disappear anymore.

I said I'd sit back on the flattened stump as much as possible.

"How long have you been watching this?

Gasps, and the sound of stepping on the sesame grass, and people come.

"Hey, was it broken"

There was no way to get company, so I thought he was a lone wolf burglar, but he didn't seem to be.

Again, for a bandit, he's dressed a lot better.

He came out scratching his head, kind of like a bad bat.

I don't feel hostile at the moment.

"What can I do for you?

"I was going to camp too, so I was wondering if you'd like to join me."

Indeed, the man held aside such a quantity of branches that he did not think he had gathered at the end of the excuse just now.

It seems true that you intend to camp.

"Well, I don't mind."

More firewood will warm you up.

That's a good thing.

Even so, a relatively rich young man like me met a stranger when he was in the wild. When it comes to things like that, the target is classic as a burglar or a thief.

I've never been over there to be vigilant.

"I have a weapon for once, will you keep it"

You read my fear, that's what the man said.

The man had a small bow.

I don't see it, but I guess he also has a short knife in his pocket.

But still, I don't feel hostile.

"No, fine... it doesn't necessarily mean you won't be attacked by thieves during the night. Be careful with your round hips."

"That's right. Though, I'm not as sure about my arm."

The man says lightly.

Sure, it was hyorous, and I could really see that I wasn't sure.

Again, no matter how you look at it, it doesn't look like you're making rough business.

"Now, if you'll excuse me"

The man, across the burning fire, laid a thick cloth and lowered his hips over it.

"Do you have anything to eat?

"Yes."

The man took the meat out of a leather bag that was attached to the side of the backpack.

The meat, even when it came to meat, was not like it was sold in a butcher's shop.

Apparently, it's the leg part, so I don't know what animal meat it is, but it's probably something I caught myself, using a covered bow.

There was cloudy blood dripping from the leather bag, although it did not appear to be rotten, and the blood drain was not satisfied.

They handled it poorly.

Either the hunting itself was my first experience, or I was hunting but leaving the dismantling to others.

Or are you in such a hurry that you don't have time to process it?

Either way, in such a nasty treatment, it's not what was eaten.

Where it is cooked, it becomes like a boiled dust of rotten blood in the meat.

"Do you mind using the fire to cook? I'm a little hungry."

"Sure, I don't mind."

This guy, if he's a good person, why is he eating like this?

I mean, before I was nice, I actually had a knight's badge on my chest.

This is a badge commonly known as the Knights Chapter, which is given to graduates of the Knights College.

The knight must always wear it, but not those who do not have a knight's degree.

Instead of wearing it, it must not be possessed, and if it is picked up, it must be promptly notified and returned.

That's pre-construction, and I guess it's rarely actually returned, but it's hard to be an idiot to put it on your chest even though you don't deserve it, and walk the table with dignity.

It hits identity fraud, so if you get caught, it's a felony.

That should be the same in Kirchna.

In other words, an inference is made that you are probably a knight.

If so, is this guy committing any crime and running away?

Graduating from the cavalry means being part of the intelligentsia, even if you couldn't be a cavalier, so you can get a job that you can earn to the extent that you don't have any difficulty eating.

I don't know the details, but it should be more or less the same in Kirchna.

Some say that pride can't get in the way of ordinary people's jobs, but even if such people don't have money, they won't do the dirt smell of traveling while hunting, etc.

"No, I knew you'd stop baking me"

And I said,

"... Really?"

When he did so, the man looked a little sorry and grabbed the meat.

"Let my eagle eat that meat. Instead, you eat my meat. It's meat that the butcher flavored properly."

"Oh, I see. That helps."

The man brightened his face.

Well, you don't want that kind of meat.

The nutritional value may be rather high, but anyone would forgive a meal that makes them nauseous.

"So can I just feed you"

"I don't mind. Just when I'm hungry."

The man did the meat on the tip of his nose as he approached the stardust.

The stardust picked the meat with a large couch and received the bait.

I have some worries, but Uzi wasn't gushing, and it won't frighten my stomach.

Or maybe a healthy meal for Wang Eagle, where raw meat is recommended, as they only sold salted meat.

Wildlife doesn't drain blood.

"You're a well made eagle. It's elegant."

The man said as he looked at the stardust.

If you are a bad king eagle, you take away the thoughtful meat and eat it to eat guts guts, so taking the meat to receive it softly was proof that you are a well-groomed king eagle, if you ask me.

I guess this man is still a knight that such dialogue comes out sultry.

A man who wears a knight's badge to work in fraud must have never touched a king eagle or anything.

"I guess so. A proud eagle."

"With all due respect, you were seen as an associate of the Howe family."

Oh, it broke fast.

Well, there's a family crest carved into the saddle there.

I didn't think it would be a problem to find out because it wasn't a journey to hide my identity.

"Right. However, from what I can tell, I'm more concerned about your origin."

And I was subtle in my exploration.

"I guess that is. No, it's not like I need to hide it. I'm Gino Toga."

Toga......

Speaking of the Toga family, it's one of the generals of the kingdom of Kirchna.

If, like Luke, a person was a parent who derailed from the rail called Knight and the train went bus as it was, just a rancher named Howe's last name. It is also conceivable that

Otherwise, however, it is usually limited to those on the near edge to be named as surnames.

Naming the Toga family would mean at least this little one, if that's okay.

What's a bastard like that doing here?

"Gino? I'm Yuri."

"I see. Is that Mr. Yuri? Best regards,"

Gino has kept his head down with a pepper.

"I've already said hello, and let's bake it anyway"

I took the meat out of my luggage.

Salted goat meat.

They are thickly sliced, not chunks like branches.

I stabbed a skewer and an iron skewer in thick steaky meat, and when I manipulated the knife to separate it into two pieces, I offered one to Gino.

"I'll take it."

When Gino received it, he quickly began to set it on fire.

"I don't have a plate, but I have bread. You should eat it pinched."

"That's good. We'll have bread in a while."

Have you been hunting beasts and eating beast meat all this time?

It's like living like a primitive.

When I look at the clothes, they are still a lot dirty, but not gushing with beast blood.

Maybe he was careful not to get his clothes dirty.

Though dirty, it can still be seen to be tailored clothing.

It's kind of a chig hug.

Even though clothes, personality, and attitude belong to the upper class, only the first time in life is a primitive.
