Lou Muge woke up sweating profusely, and saw that Wen Changchu was sleeping soundly beside the bed with the corner of his quilt pressed down. The two layers of quilt on his body were warm.

He sat in a daze for a while before struggling to get a hand out of the quilt and wiped the sweat from his forehead, thinking that Wen Changchu had almost killed him. In such cold weather, he was able to cover him until he was sweating profusely.

When the heat was cooling, white mist appeared from his back and the top of his head. After sitting for a while, a head poke out by the door frame, taking a sneaky look inside.

Lou Muge noticed him, turned his head to look, and saw a man glaring at him. The same man then stomped his way in, took off the quilt covering him, and left in a huff.

Wen Changchu was awakened. He wiped his face and found that Lou Muge was awake. He anxiously said, “Boss, you’re awake. How are you feeling? Are you still cold?”

Lou Muge shook his head. “I feel a little hot.”

“Hot is good. If it weren’t for me, you would really have frozen to death. When I came here carrying you, it felt like I was carrying a pole on my shoulders. You were so ramrod that I could have a basket on you and carried it away.”Wen Changchu breathed a sigh of relief. All of a sudden, he saw that a layer was missing in the quilt. His expression dramatically changed, and he said ferociously, “Where’s the quilt? Did that man take it away again?!”

While shouting, he got up and rolled up his sleeves to find the doctor.

He was quickly stopped by Lou Muge, “That’s enough! If you don’t want me to die in your hands, just stop.”

After being reminded about being frozen unconscious earlier, he touched his nose rather embarrassingly, lifted the covers off the bed and asked, “Where are we?”

“It’s not far from the city we left this morning.” Wen Changchu said, “Your body is so weak to the point of not being able to walk any further. You have to rest for a couple of days.”

Lou Muge tried to probe his body, and found that the power that had been fused in the Devil Realm over the past year had been exhausted, but the wounds he sustained in the Immortal Realm were almost healed. Wen Changchu must have treated him while he was unconscious.

He nodded. “Let’s just stop for a few days.”

I have to rest. If I persist on with the journey, I’m afraid this little fish demon’s body won’t be able to carry on.

The two stayed in the town. The town might not be big, but it wasn’t barren either. There were all kinds of people coming and going. Just by standing on the street alone, you could hear a cacophony of noises. What was more, there were no monsters who dared to make trouble. It was very peaceful.

Wen Changchu was quite rich. He booked two rooms, and led Lou Muge to have some new tailored clothes. Inner coats this, and outer coats that, plus a fur velvet overcoat, three layers inside and three layers outside; Lou Muge was wrapped like a ball, leaving footprints in the snow that were deeper than others.

They also added a hand warmer, a hat and a pair of cotton boots. There were a lot of the same set. On top of that, they ate chicken every day.

Not to mention anything else, just eating chicken would have spoiled Lou Muge’s beauty. Around four days later, his face has grown a bit chubbier.

The two of them looked like mortals. When they stood together, they were the image of two rich young masters who came out to play, before leaving the town.

The sun was shining brightly on the day they left. It was a rare day of good weather in winter. The two of them were sitting in a carriage, and as soon as the curtain was lifted, they saw the slowly drifting clouds in the sky. With a soft blanket above and a pillow under, Lou Muge looked as if he was about to doze off, when he blurted out a question, “When did you figure out my identity?”

Wen Changchu looked away from the window. “I knew from the first time I saw you that you have the power of ten thousand devils.”

Lou Muge looked at him in surprise. “Do you still have a relationship with the ancient Devil King?”

The immortal Devil King existed in the distant ancient times. In order to seal him, the blood of the two god clans, the Azure Dragon and the White Tiger, was almost exterminated. Thousands of years have passed, but his existence was still daunting to mention now.

The ancient Devil King was sealed in the polar abyss on the border of the Devil Realm. When Lou Muge escaped from the Immortal Realm, he was seriously injured and almost died in the severe cold. He survived by accidentally absorbing a bit of the Devil King’s power, and to this day the power of ten thousand devils remained in his soul.

“I was originally a sword spirit. I have been wandering in the world, have gone through the life and death cycle, and reincarnated for several years. Now I am a parasite in the body of a wolf demon,” Wen Changchu replied.

Only then did Lou Muge understand why Wen Changchu suddenly turned into a white sword when they were in the Immortal Realm.

The sword of the ancient Devil King was forged of the Supreme Stone[1]. The yin of this stone was black, named Du’er, and the yang stone was white, named Changchu.

I’ve picked a treasure. This was the thought that filled Lou Muge’s head.

Du’er was now in the hands of the Demon King, Rong Bai. Lou Muge once borrowed it to play with it for a while, and it was a very powerful weapon. At that time, he envied and dreamed of having an equal weapon.

“Where are we going next?” Wen Changchu nudged his shoe with his toe, interrupting his thoughts.

“I need to find my body first.” Lou Muge’s eyes turned golden when he looked at Wen Changchu. “With the body of this fish demon, I’ll reach nowhere. I can’t use my sword recklessly either. After I find my body, I can take you to the Old God Realm.”

“Your body?” Wen Changchu asked from the bottom of his heart, “You’ve been dead for 800 years. Do you think it’s possible to preserve your remains?”

Lou Muge wasn’t entirely sure either. There were so many people who hated him back then. Maybe someone had taken out his corpse after his death, but he still had a glimmer of hope. “Maybe.”

“The Lower Three Realms are vast. Where are we going to start?”

Lou Muge said, “I know a place where all the demons gather. We can go there for a look.”
