The Devil's Bride

Chapter 17 - She doesn't have to know

"Your Highness Princess Kathleen, it is time for breakfast. Please wake up, princess".

Kathleen was still in her dream land when a voice sounded close by to wake her up. Lazily, she opened her eyes to see Lauren, her personal maid, standing not far from the bed. The maid who was in her black and white maid outfit, bowed her head in respect when she saw the princess opened her eyes from her slumber.

"Good morning, Princess Kathleen"

"Good morning, Lauren"

"Please pardon my rudeness for disturbing you, your highness, but His Highness Prince Kael had ordered me to make sure you have your breakfast on time, princess"

"Where is he?"

"The prince went out since early morning to inspect the Dark Forest"

"I see.. Then I shall have my breakfast after a quick shower"

"Would you like me to help you clean up, princess?"

"There's no need for you to help me Lauren, please bring in my breakfast, thank you" she said with a smile on her beautiful face.

"Right away. Your today's attire will be ready in the walk in closet, your highness" Lauren bowed and leave the chamber to prepare her breakfast.

Kathleen took her time enjoying her peaceful bath without Kael's playful hands around her. She mixed the water in the tub with scented oil that soothes her tired body, it was a lavender essential oil.

Trying to clean her s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e body part down there, it still hurts a little, especially around the hole area. 'Not only that my husband is the devil prince, he is also a beast on bed' she said inside.

Kathleen was grateful that Kael will not be with her 24 hours everyday, or else her body might giving up and cost her life. The sweet torture was indeed felt amazing, but there's no way she can go on for hours without rest, and her husband seem to have unlimited energy to do it. He only stop when she passed out or sleep.

"How can he be so energetic?!" she suddenly felt life was unfair when it comes to the comparison between the devil's and human's energy.

"Who?" his voice surprised her that she almost jump from the tub.

Kael was leaning against the bathroom's door frame, looking at her sight. He looked regal and charming in his full black suit, highlighted his red hair and silvery gold iris.

'Nobody can have any doubt about his devil lineage, he can easily took my breath away by just standing there doing nothing', said Kathleen inside, gawking at the devil prince.

"A penny of your thoughts?"

"Life's unfair"

"Why?"

"How can a man look more beautiful than me?"

"Who?"

"You" she said pointed her finger at him.

"Did my beauty makes you fall in love even more to me?"

"Nobody can beat your shamelessness Kael" she said facepalm her own face.

"Of course" he smirked. He move towards his wife who was stil inside the tub and pick her up, "enough bathing, your breakfast is getting cold".

"I can walk on my own two feet Kael" she complained. She wondered if he really like to carry her in his arms like that or because he thinks that she was not capable to walk by herself.

"I know" he said while walking out of the bathroom with her still in his arms.

"If you know, then put me down and let me walk" she said, tilted up her face to look at his face.

"It's more fun to walk like this"

"I don't find it to be fun"

"It is to me" he shrugged.

"Which part of this is fun?" she asked confused.

"The part where I can touch you of course" he said gave off his naughty smile.

"You..!!" she couldn't get to finished her words when he put her down on the bed and kissed her lips tenderly. His kiss was soft and gentle that it made her felt like she was on cloud nine. He pulled the blanket and covered her body with it.

"Wait here, I'll be back with your clothes" he said when he pulled out from the kiss.

She nodded her head and waited for him like a good girl.

He came back with a royal blue color dress and helped her put on it. Kathleen who had always been embarrassed to let him looked at her n.a.k.e.d self couldn't stop her husband insistent to help her dressed up. She just felt grateful enough that Kael didn't eat her up right there and then.

"Now that you are perfectly dressed, let's enjoy the breakfast, shall we?"

"I'm hungry, my stomach had been grumbling for awhile now" she told him while they walked towards the prepared table hand in hand.

"You shouldn't have bathed that long when you have empty stomach, you might fall sick"

"I didn't know that a demon have a worry feeling, that's very surprising"

"Well, as you already know, I'm half human half demon, I do inherited human's points from my mother" he said while he pulled out a chair for Kathleen.

"I see. it's good to know that you are not unemotional person" she said.

"Where have you been since early morning?" she asked again.

"I went to check the Dark Forest ground" he replied simple.

"Did anything happen?" she asked worriedly.

"It is just a normal inspection, nothing happen"

Something actually did happen but he don't have any intention to let her know any more details. He was actually went to see a werewolf dead body which was suspected had been killed by someone or something last night.

Last night was a full moon, it is the hardest time to fight a werewolf, even harder to kill it as werewolves was in full power during the full moon. Even more of the case was that the dead werewolf was the chief of one of the strongest werewolf clan.

The strongest and the wisest will never fall easily like the way he saw it this morning, it was killed with a single strike on the neck, separated the head from the body. Kael wouldn't want Kathleen to know such gruesome case, so he didn't let her in any details.
