The Devil's Bride

Boredom started to get inside of her mind after days of keeping herself inside their bedroom chamber.

Without nothing to do and nobody to talk to as Kael went out for another hawling called from the werewolves, she looked outside the window to see a herd of deers was grazing grass not far from the palace ground.

'It's amazing how the grass grew lushly in this dark area without having any sun light, she said inwardly. The herd look domesticated to her eyes, as if they were used to be around humans.. or rather the dark creatures.

'I wonder if I can get a closer look. Kael said this symbol is like a charm that prevents the dark creatures from hurting me', she thought while looking at the symbol on her arm.

Her interest pique, she wanted to view it up close, she never had a chance to see a deer before. 'It look harmless and with this charm I shall be safe', she said to herself, heading to the door and walk out from the chamber.

"Princess, you are not supposed to go out from the chamber", said Clause who was standing outside the door. She wondered if he had been standing there the whole time, guarding her.

"I'm tired of sitting inside. I just want to go out for awhile, to see the outer palace and breathe in fresh air", said Kathleen to the always unemotional faced butler.

"It is dangerous for you to be out, princess", insisted Clause to her with his hand gestured for her to get back inside the room. But instead of listening to the butler, she walk passed him, "if you think it is dangerous for me, you can always protect me right? you are my personal guard anyway", said Kathleen smiling at the butler, hoping that he wouldn't try to stop her.

But before the butler could reply to her words, she was grab by her waist and in a split second she was not in the hallway anymore, she was now in a different room with Sinners holding her waist.

"My.. what a pleasant surprise to see you outside your room, my dear daughter in law", he said smiling charmingly.

"Please let go of me your majesty".

"And why would I let go of such beauty from my hand?".

"Umm.. because you are not supposed to hold me like this?".

"Like what, dear Kathleen?".

"Intimately like this", she said, not dare to look at the devil in the eye. Sweats started to form at her back, she could feel the danger out of his presence alone. She was trapped like a mouse in the hand of a devil cat, where he would play with the mouse first before eating her whole.

Sensing her frightened feeling, Sinners smile mischievously that his shiny sharp fangs can be seen clearly. He let go of her waist but he didn't move away from her.

"What are you doing outside of your room, dear?".

"I.. I just want to see outside".

"Didn't Kael warn you not to go out alone?".

" I.. he did".

"And you ignored his words.. not good Kathleen. He will surely punish you for defying him".

"Umm.. I think I should return to my chamber now".

"So soon? and here I was thinking about taking you out for a stroll".

"Thank you for your kindness, your majesty. But I have to decline".

"Oh really? Do you really have to broke my heart every single time I invited you?", said Sinners with his pain looked expression.

"With Kael always busy outside, I'm left alone in this lonely palace. I feel so cold and alone with no one to talk to. Thinking that now I have you as Kael's wife, I thought that you might accompany me once in awhile, but it seems like you are giving me a cold shoulder too, just like my son", he said pitifully.

"Umm.. do you really have a heart?", asked Kathleen innocently. She was not sure if a devil truly own a heart, but hearing Sinners mentioned about his heart, she wondered.

"I do have one, but just a moment ago it was shattered from your doubtful words", he said sobbing.

"Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, I was just curious", said Kathleen a little panicked to see his painful expression.

"No, don't worry about it, I'm used to be treated this way. Kael always hurt me with his sharp tongue", he said. Seeing him like that and listening to his sad words, Kathleen felt guilty for refusing his invitation, not once but twice.

'Well, to have his own son ignoring him, of course a father will be very sad. Since I don't have anything else to do, I shall accompany him for awhile until Kael return. He is my father in law anyway', she said inwardly.

"I'm sorry for refusing you just now, your majesty. Why don't I accompany you for a tea?", she said trying her best not to show her fear and smile to the devil.

"But I'm not really in a mood for tea right now".

"Then what would you suggest, you majesty?".

"Let see.. what can we both do together while waiting for Kael to come fetch you.. oh I got a brilliant idea! Why don't you show me how far did my son teach you the bed techniques", he said singing to his words. His expression and behavior turn 180° from his pitiful and sad face not too long ago.

"What?!", shocked to his words, Kathleen thought that she misheard him.

"Go on, strip. Don't be shy, you should have been used to being stark n.a.k.e.d by now, right?", it was not a question, it was more like a command from him and it makes Kathleen scared for what he intended to do to her.

She inches backwards until her back touch the cold wall. "Are you crazy?! I'm your son's wife! your daughter in law!"

"So?", he asked he back lazily.

"Just so you know my dear daughter in law, the so called human etiquette, common sense and good manners doesn't apply to a devil like me. It doesn't matter who you are to me, if I want you then you are mine", he said smiling mockingly to the young princess.

His words cause her heart pumping loudly that she was sure the devil in front of her right now could hear it clearly. She was scared! so scared that she couldn't uttered any more words. How can she be so stupid that she forget the devil doesn't follow any of the human's nature!

She shouldn't have step outside the room. Kael had warned her, Clause tried to stop her, but she was too stupid that she forgot Kael's warning and ignored Clause words.

Stuck and cornered by Sinners, the only words she could voice out was, "Kael".
