The Doctor Who Loves Me

Xander ended up checking on Yera but he bumped on with Doctor Candice Yao at the hallway while he was on his way to the Department of Surgery. 

Dr. Yao was a new member, a new doctor added at the Department of Pediatrics in their hospital. The woman was beautiful, very approachable and very cheerful. She fitted well for their young patients who were mostly hard to deal with.

"Hello Dr. Yang!" greeted Candice in high spirits, with her usual sparkling smiles. Then she added in her sweetest voice, "Did you grab lunch already? If not, can I ask you to join me?" 

He noticed that the woman was often talking to him since the day she arrived and started working at their hospital. Not that he complained but he was not dense at all when it came to opposite s.e.x who would often show their interest in him. Dr. Yao seemed to have an interest  for him if his intuition was correct. But then, it could also be that it was her natural personality and could be misinterpreted by assuming people.

Then it came to him that he was one of those assuming people for thinking that Dr. Yao fancied him somehow. Xander shook his head and laughed inwardly as he scolded himself for being assuming. 

He smiled back at Dr. Yao as he casually answered, "Sorry Dr. Yao but I have someone to meet and eat lunch with." He would want to say that he would meet his wife but then he should remain quiet about it for Yera's safety.

Dr. Yao smiled back and said, "Alright Dr. Yang… Probably next time. Enjoy your  lunch then and see you around."

Xander passed by Dr. Yao and he failed to see how she raised her brow as she turned around and watched his back as he walked away, then her lips curved into a wicked smirk.

Xander sneaked at the Department of Surgery, to see how Yera was doing in her first day. But unfortunately, Yera was nowhere to be found. 'Did she eat out without me?' he murmured as he immediately grabbed his phone and dialed Yera's number.

'Oh shoot!' she gasped seeing the name appeared on her phone. Then a playful grin unconsciously curved her lips because of the name she saved on Xander's number.

Yera excused herself in a while as she stood and walked enough steps away from her team not to hear her.

"Yes?" she said simply upon answering the mobile phone.

Blood rushed in Xander's ears as he repeated Yera's cold word, "Yes?" 

How come his wife was so coldhearted even in answering his call.

"What?" Yera asked next with crumpled forehead, hearing Xander's poking tone.

Xander sighed as he continued, "Darling… Can't you be a bit sweeter to your husband? Anyway, let's eat lunch. Where are you?" 

"Oh, I'm with the team near the hospital. Just waiting for our orders." Yera answered nonchalantly that dragged Xander's shoulders further down.

'What the heck? She did not even bother to ask him for lunch? Or even ask if I want to eat with her or not?' he sadly thought before he said with a dry voice, "Alright darling, enjoy your lunch and eat well. See you later then…"

The call then ended. Yera frowned as she whispered, "what's with his voice?" She felt that for no reason, Xander sounded disappointed? 'But we can't eat together because it will be suspicious.' she mused as she walked back in her seat.

Xander's face couldn't be painted when Rui entered his office. "Physician CEO, let's go and join me for lunch. Wait… what's with the long face?" Rui observed.

Xander spurt it out and Rui laughed out hard. "What's with you? Of course, it's expected that she won't get near you inside the hospital unless you decide to go open that you two are married but then it won't be good for Yera at this point of time..."

"But can't she at least tell me she will eat out? Or thought of me like ask me if I eat already or not?" Xander kept his protest and another laughter roared inside his office with Rui's voice.

"Stop sulking! Let's just go and eat. It's just hunger or maybe your a natural born to be a clingy husband!" Rui teased with a grin.

Xander's nostrils flared and with arched eyebrow he murmured, "Maybe I should consider changing a psychiatrist…"

Rui shrugged his shoulders and said, "Hmm… That would be great… Oh, I can't wait to continue with my long vacation without sudden disturbances… Geez…"

Xander pursed his lips and with twisted face said, "Let's go you slothful psychiatrist!"

"After you our Physician CEO…" said Rui still grinning as he opened the door for his friend who obviously head over heels over his wife… He wanted to voice it out but he knew Xander would just deny it and insisted that he only liked Yera but as a psychiatrist he could see it was deeper than just liking his wife.

"Stop that look!" Xander hissed because he could tell what Rui was thinking.

Rui smiled meaningfully as he challenged Xander, "Tell me our dear Physician CEO… What's with my look?"

Xander passed by him and murmured with an arched brow, "Starving look! What else?"
