The Doctor Who Loves Me

Xander stayed longer at Country V than expected because of some problems that he needed to personally attend to. He heaved a long sigh of frustration inside the car as they headed at the site. Xander was supposed to take one of their private planes to head back home but was cancelled because his construction crew discovered bones at the construction site this morning.

"Boss, the general contractor instructed to pause all activities on-site." reported Assistant Ron and Xander nodded. 

He was the landowner so he instructed his team to inform the relevant parties. He knew things like this were possible but this was the first time he encountered such after all the building projects he had before to expand their Yang Hospital facilities worldwide.

The one he had right now at Country V was the biggest building project that they wanted to launch as soon as possible. The place needed a hospital facility like theirs so he would love to finish the building of this one as soon as possible. 

Country V had different processes with this cases in which assistant Ron was briefing him during their drive at site.

It would be much easier if it was only an animal bones but if it was human remains… In worst case scenarios, they could point to evidence in an unsolved investigation or even marked the location as a long-abandoned cemetery.

Assistant Ron's mobile phone rang. After the call, he reported, "Boss non-forensic archeology experts are already at the site. There could be delays for many months."

Xander massaged his temples, it was okay for delays but the building project could be at risk of being shut down indefinitely or cancelled. This was the biggest project he had worked on for so long, and it was giving him a total headache at that moment.

He was startled when he heard his mobile phone rang and quickly grabbed it. His sullen mood suddenly brightened seeing the caller ID appearing as 'my darling'.

"Hello," Xander answered. Yera knitted her eyebrows because Xander's voice seemed to lack energy than usual so she asked, "Is everything alright? You sound lonely."

Xander chuckled, hearing the word lonely so he replied, "Hmm, yeah I'm lonely because I'm missing my darling so much. I might stay for two more days here. How was everything there?"

Yera smiled and answered, "Hmm, quite busy here too. What happened there?"

Xander told Yera what happened and why he needed to stay. "That's unfortunate, I'm sure everything will turn out well." she murmured with creased forehead. Her face could not be painted as it paled at the  same time. She was having another negative thought. 'Could it be her bad luck?' she mused as her heart skipped from beating.

She suddenly became scared at the thought of Xander was now  having a bad luck. 'Was it because she was starting to care for Xander?' she presumed silently.

She heard Xander murmured, "Yes, everything will be alright so don't think about it. Besides, it's not a big deal. This project is not that big and will not hit yang Hospital group that much. I'm Xander Yang remember? This is just a tiny glitch."

Xander said in his usual boastful and happy tone so Yera would not get worried because he could sense that she would. "Hmm, maybe I'll go home today after I meet all related parties today since I bet you miss me already. I miss kissing and cuddling you." Xander teased.

He could hear Yera's distressed sighs on the other line and Xander cursed inwardly for  being an idiot for telling Yera about the situation. It was because he wanted to be honest with his wife at all times that he forgot to consider the possibility of Yera thinking that things had got to do with her being an unlucky person to those who she cared about.

"Stop that! Whatever you're thinking has nothing to do with that  jinx and if it ever it has something to do with it then I don't mind. I will gladly accept all the bad luck in my life as long as it only proves that you care and LOVE me!" Xander declared firmly.

Then he continued in his deep heavy voice, "I want more bad luck to rain me Yera if you will continue to think that the people you care for and love is getting bad luck from you… I will even chant for bad luck because I don't care. I only care for you to LOVE me back..."

"Stupid…" Yera murmured, her voice was cracked because she was suppressing the tears that would fall down from her eyes at any moment. Then she continued,  "Why are you stupid?"

She heard Xander chuckled and replied, "And why are you so superstitious? There's no such thing as jinx… Problems and trials do happen but that doesn't mean you're jinx. Those things are meant to happen to help us learn and grow from them. It makes us stronger to move forward. Do you understand darling?"

Yera muttered, "Yeah… I have to go now. I will sleep in your office again later. Always take care…"

Xander smiled and said, "Yes, of course. I will soon return to you darling. I love you.."

Xander was about to end the call but then he heard Yera's voice saying, "I miss you," before the call ended. 

*Toot… 

*Tooot… 

*Toot….

"She said he miss me…" Xander muttered and added, "Ron, send Rui at site. I will fly back home this evening."

"Noted Boss I will contact COO Dee…" assistant Ron answered. Rui was not only Xander's bestfriend but he was also the Chief Operational Officer of Yang Hospital group, next in his position.

The corner of Xander's lips curved upwards, all his previous worries about the building project were swept away just hearing those words from his wife. 'I miss you' he mused  as he anticipated to hear the three magical words soon.
