The Dragon Amulet

Shen Nu stood still in front of the door to the ruins, the ethereal female voice luring him in. He walked up to the door and placed his hand in the centre of a circle in the door as the voice suggested for him to do. As soon as his hand made contact with the door a small metal spike was released from behind the door and it drove itself into his hand, blood was drained from his wound and it began to rotate within the circle until a loud 'clunk' sound came from behind the door.

The circle.fell out out of the door and the rest of the door crumbled into nothingness in front of Shen Nu, a large cloud of dust erupted out of the ruins and attacked Shen Nu's nose, causing him to sneeze. Walking through the now open door way, Shen Nu instantly noticed the walls of the ruins were covered in dust however what was under the dust was the interesting part.

Shen Nu moved his left hand over one of the walls to reveal a few carvings that were made in the metal substance. One of the carvings showed a young man walking up a mountain and slaying a Dragon, the second showed a young man becoming one with a dragon and their bodies fusing together. While the last carving showed a young man with a woman with dragon wings, they were shown to be happy with one another.

Intrigued Shen Nu walked deeper into the ruins, he carried a small torch to light the rooms as he explored them. Almost all of the rooms were empty, Shen Nu believed that they had already been looted a long time before he was born, he made his way past the coffins and walked towards the origin of the voice, the room in front of him.

As he approached the room, the door creaked open, it opened halfway, just enough room for him to get through it before it slammed shut again. The room was empty except for a pedestal in the centre, the pedestal had a small wooden box with a lock on it. As Shen Nu got closer to the box a woman's figure flicked in and out of existence in front pf the box, when she saw Shen Nu, her face lit up with excitement and she became overwhelmed with joy. She ran up to him and attempted to hug him, Shen Nu took a step back and left the woman hugging herself, a dim cold aura surrounded his body.

He looked the woman in the eyes and said" Why did you summon me here? More importantly than that, why did you bring me here? Who are you to me and why do you have such a hold over me? If you are going to kill me then get it over with, if not I'm going to leave now."

With the woman frozen in shock, Shen Nu turned around and walked towards the large door he hand entered through, unfortunately for him the door wouldn't open no matter how much he tried. As he continued to try and force his way out, he heard faint crying from behind him, initially he ignored the crying however it got louder and louder and eventually he caved and turned towards the woman.

With a blank look on his face he stared into the woman's eyes? Her body was still phasing in and out of existence, it was nearly impossible for Shen Nu to see what she looked like. He plainly said" Why are you crying? We have never met each other, why am I so important to you?"

The Woman's crying intensified and in between sobs she forced out "You were my husband, th-th-the all powerful Dragon emperor. Do you not remember me? We ruled together for nearly 200 years, why can't you remember me?"

A feeling of guilt washed over Shen Nu's body which shocked him to his core, he knew that he had never met this woman but if a fraction of what she was saying is true, even a slither then it may explain why his body forced him to the ruins as soon as it heard her voice. As he pondered the scenario, his body unconsciously walked towards the box on the pedestal and before he became aware of what he was doing he smashed open the box.

Inside it was a small amulet crafted on the shape of a sleeping dragon, as he bent down to pick it up, the amulet flew at his c.h.e.s.t and began merging with his skin, what came next would be the start of the Dragon Emperor's Rebirth...
