The Duchess of the Attic

21. Arrest warrant

Except someone leaked a "well" voice, which was surprisingly quiet and filled the wide venue with silence.

But a moment later, the louder the laughter the more deaf.

"It was quite an interesting pastime, Sir Roussell. No...... are you really the Marquis Roussel?

The words of Keymont, laughing, turned into questions, and the people around them also looked at Opal for answers again.

Exactly when you come out with an arrest warrant, I guess everyone can't believe it in Russia.

Opal also did not know how about the arrest warrant, but this question was clearly answered.

"Yeah, of course. - Viscount Cloisel, ma'am, I'm late to introduce you, but this is my husband, Lucell Marquis Claude Fred."

Opal introduced Claude to the Viscounts Croiselle and his wife, trying to make a firm apology and atonement later for the noise they had caused at the ball.

Then Claude also continues.

"Nice to meet you, Viscount Cloisel, Viscountess. I apologize for the invitation but didn't reply and suddenly pushed me like this. Let me apologize for making another scene."

"Marquis Roussel, it's a pleasure to meet you -"

"You can say anything! No one here knows the real Marquis Roussel! What's an arrest warrant? Don't be ridiculous!

Viscount Croisel had responded with a smile in this situation as well, but the frustrated Keymont blocked it there.

It's rude to just interrupt in the middle of a greeting, but it's also quite rude to be calling Opal a liar.

And yet the Countess, usually annoyed by courtesy, does not scold her son either.

"Oh, yeah! What the hell is this? Why is anyone letting those disrespectful people like you!? Viscount Croisel and everyone else are crazy! I will never forgive you all for being insulted like this!

With the Countess's tall voice, who seems to have completely forgotten to be polite, those who watched in silence what had been accomplished also begin to bother.

Claude told her to remain calm even as everyone focused on the next development.

"Some of the thieves who had recently appeared here near Wang Du were caught today. A statement from them found Sir Keemont to be one of them. So an arrest warrant has just been issued."

"Ugh, it's a lie..."

"All arrest warrants have been issued by His Majesty's [35546;] because the thief is only a young man of his identity. Cops are waiting outside this venue to detain Sir Keymont again. I was there to get Sir Keymont out of here so he wouldn't bother everyone, but you failed."

Everyone was staring at Claude with incredible thoughts to flatter his shoulders.

The venue is once again engulfed in silence and only Keymont's rough breath can be heard.

The Countess is so bloodthirsty that she may be passing out standing that she doesn't make it slight, and Keymont doesn't even utter a word of objection.

"Come on, Sir Keymont. Keep going outside."

Claude's words I was about to say were broken.

Keymont escaped.

He rambles the woman who was around him and runs out toward the outside.

The scream and the flashing opal turned back to me and followed Keymont's whereabouts with his eyes, and Claude and several men had already followed him.

And seize it in front of the door.

"Let go, impudent! I'm Jeb Keemont from Count Keemont's house!

The men surrounding Keymont, who summon and ramble, were nothing less than Keymont.

Besides, he even joins Viscount Croisel.

Keymont was seduced as everyone watched in surprise, and Claude slowly returned.

"Claude?"

"I'll explain later."

"Yeah, please"

If Claude seems sorry, I can't ask questions on this occasion.

Claude smiled thankfully at such an opal, then turned to the Countess.

The Countess stared relieved at the door to which her son, Keymont, had been drawn, turning into a phase of anger the moment she noticed the claude in front of her.

"That child... that child is innocent. You've decided to be innocent! Is that you? You fell for that girl! My husband will sue you both!

"... I have done nothing. Instead, I couldn't do anything. But there must have been more you could have done."

"What the hell are you talking about!?

"Is it the responsibility of the parents not to end the child? But what they were doing is a crime, not an end in the end, etc. Because a few months ago he was threatening people who would go down the road imitating thieves who vandalized the streets and taking away the hardware. How mournful and angry His Majesty is to know that such criminals were the ones of identity..."

"Oh no..."

"From now on, I want you to think more about the unfortunate victims than about yourself or your son. Okay, excuse me."

Claude was calm to the end against the Countess, who summoned to anger.

But Claude is very angry.

Opal was aware of that, but didn't say anything, and continued the unobstructed conversation until he finished greeting the Viscounts of Cloisel and boarded the carriage.

And when we were alone in the car, Opal cut it out.

"Come on, Naja left in another carriage, and now we're alone. I'll ask you anything."

"You needed an explanation tonight."

"That'll be fine later. But I want you to tell me something if it will cure that anger at all. If there's anything I can do, I want you to tell me."

I'm more concerned about the cause of Claude's anger, which is a lot to worry about, but rarely angry.

Too many things happen tonight to be predictable.

Claude suddenly hugged Opal as he put his feelings seriously into words in a dimly lit car alone.

Its power is stronger than ever.

"Claude?"

"Sorry, Opal"

"Huh?"

"I regret being told bad about Opal. I'm sorry I got in the way of Opal's plan. I'm pissed that I've ever been rustling scum like Keymont. I feel sorry for myself for not having a great deal of power in gaining the status of Marquis. I'm so sorry, Opal."

Claude's anger was for Opal and his victims.

Claude has been gentle and warm for a long time.

Opal held Claude back and exhaled relieved.

"Thank you, Claude. But I'm fine. I don't care what people say to me. Sir Keymont has served his purpose. I just wanted everyone to know how irresponsibly he's been tormenting the women, but worse than that... it was scum."

I couldn't find a word to describe Keymont, and Opal borrowed Claude's.

As a lady, Claude chuckles.

"Besides, maybe tonight will reduce the prejudice against the women in the pitiful situation a little bit? I hope the victims of the thieves are rescued at all..."

"Fortunately, they hardly hurt the victim. Although the hardware was stolen, it will be well paid by the Keymonts. Combine the compensation. They left the stolen goods in the mansion. That was the proof...... They didn't aim to be hardware, but to enjoy the thrill and to enjoy watching the victim frighten."

"I knew there was no saving scumbag."

Now to be clear, Opal left his head on Claude's shoulder.

"Hey, Claude."

"Yeah?"

"It's a lie that Claude doesn't have a lot of power. I'm fine with one person, but Claude is so happy to be here to help, I'm so happy and empowered. And it was so refreshing when you hit Sir Keymont."

"I'm relieved to hear that. I moved in anger, but I was terrified inside about what I'd do if they didn't like me to be a riot."

You're serious, Opal looked up at Claude.

Claude always looks confident, but now he looks a little unreliable.

"... I'm not the only one. There must be a lot of people saved by Claude. Something that just makes Claude strong for me. Because don't let Claude carry it all alone. You promised, right? He wants us to live together. I'll carry Claude's baggage with me. That's why I want you to rely more on me."

Claude, who hasn't changed for a long time, hasn't changed to the point where he tries to hold anything alone.

Even though Opal always helps me when I'm in trouble, I don't rely on people if I'm in trouble.

I can't change it right away. But I hope Opal can help me out a little bit.

"... thanks, Opal"

A low, gentle voice touches Opal's ear, who once again deposited his head on Claude's shoulder.

That tickled me so much that Opal looked up all the time in the blindfold and gave me a mean grin.

"- So after this, I'm going to ask you to explain exactly what happened tonight."

"Coming up?"

"The night is not yet over."

"That's very meaningful."

Claude also deliberately answered with a mean grin.

From then on, the two continued to speak as lightly as they used to do until they got to the mansion.
