Chapter 10

Upon returning to the Imperial Palace, Leonhardt ran to his desk right away and took out a paper.

[Life Plan]

‘Holy shit! You can’t even write properly with a child’s hand?!’

Leonhardt, crossed a line over the wrong spelling and took out a new paper and wrote it down again [The ‘life’ plan].

Even though he became an emperor at a young age and was able to manage his state’s affairs well, he did not remember every single day of his childhood. Except for the date and places. He remembered what happened and why.

‘You can’t get caught by anyone.’

Leonhardt pondered for a moment, then began to write down the big events that influenced his life while holding the pen in his left hand to invert the text.

[X month X day, first meeting with the Empress.]

[On X month X day, the wedding ceremony with the empress was held.]

[X month X day, mother’s death.]

Leonhardt’s pen paused.

He agonized for a while in front of the incident that had pushed half of his life into the shadows.

If this tragedy could be prevented, then things might have been happier not only for himself, but also for Father and Elizabeth.

Leonhardt bit his lip and eventually continued to write down events in his memory.

A few more ciphertexts had been completed by the clumsy peculiar handwriting of the child. It looks like graffiti that you can’t understand unless you see it through a mirror.

Leonhardt stared at it for a long time, after which sneaked underneath the desk drawer and hid the papers.

The next day, the maid, who was in charge of the prince’s room, found a stack of paper with  sprawling lines drawn on it.

“Oh my goodness?”

“Look at this. It’s called [Life Plan]?”

“Since when did our Prince have such a cute sider?”

An invitation came from the Duke of Elysium. Leonhardt went straight to the Duke’s residence instead of writing a reply.

He still didn’t know how much strength he should give his hands, so his strokes were often oblique. Except for that, he was now used to the small hands and feet and the face of a handsome nobleman to some extent.

He was worried that somebody might be suspicious of the unconsciously protruding grown-ups or difficult words and speech that he used, but that was also a relief.

People were having too much trouble raising the prince that they’re relieved thinking he had finally matured. ㆍ

‘I used to be a little stupid as a child, but this is too much….’

On the day he went to the Elysium Duchy again, Leonhardt thought with an awkward smile at his nanny’s praise for being unknowingly calm.

The fact that he was going to see her again left Leonhardt unable to sleep all night, tossed and turned on his spacious bed.

Would it be better to bring something other than the present he’d prepared? Should he buy blue hydrangea on the way? Or should he buy a doll? Did the Duke really understand his advice?

Worry and excitement, one followed another, made him hardly fall asleep. Thanks to that, when he woke up in his nanny’s arms after a contented rest, he had already arrived at the Duke’s residence.

The second visit to Duke’s residence, he was still greeted with a white and noble figure like a temple.

This time, instead of the Duke, the butler faced him. Leonhardt exchanged formal greetings with the Duke and headed for Elizabeth’s room.

The duke or duchess should be left dealing with the nanny and maids. The only person he should focus on right now was Elizabeth.

“My lady, can I go in?”

“Co-come in!”

Elizabeth replied with a trembling voice.

After His Highness the Crown Prince left, her parents began to put one or two blue objects in that all-white room.

It was like a dream.

That was only the start, the shoeboxes started to be filled with low-heeled shoes one by one, and something incredible happened this morning.

As usual, hold onto the bedpost, about to insanely scratch on it! Elizabeth, who had been mentally prepared to tighten the corset by the maid, looked back in dismay when the maid did not conduct that suffocating process.

Her mother, who was watching the maid about to tighten the corset with a cold and elegant attitude, like a glass doll, prevented the maid by holding onto her arm.

“… make sure you become a lady worthy of His HIghness the Crown Prince.”

This was the first time since the day she first wore a corset.

The door opened and she heard footsteps. Was he still worried about her that his eyes might look sad again? That was what Elizabeth was concerned about the most .

The prince was holding a small box in his arms. Fortunately, there was no worry in his eyes.

After lightly looking around the changed room, he placed the box on the table and beckoned  her to come close.

Elizabeth quietly approached him.

It was a fluffy carpet, but her feet, in high-heeled shoes, were already throbbing.

“It’s yours.”

With that being said, Leonhardt opened the box.

A white box tied with a blue ribbon on top was opened, followed by the rustling sound of paper.

Elizabeth was wearing high-heeled shoes, which made the tip of her toes hurt. She looked like about to cry.

‘I want to grow up quickly like His Highness… ,’

Until the period of full-fledged growth, Leonhardt who had been steadily shorter than his age, would make a bitter smile if he knew what she was thinking. Elizabeth quietly waited for him to take out the object he said was ‘hers’ from the box.

What he took out was a pair of shoes. The unknown blue flowers embroidered on the white silk background were very beautiful.

Leonhardt then flipped shoes over.

‘huh?’

“Your Highness. Could it be that the shoemaker has made a mistake? These shoes have a flat base…”

“No.”

With a blunt utterance, Leonhardt sat Elizabeth on the chair.

“Excuse me for a moment.”

“Kya! You-Your Highness!”

Leonhardt knelt down in front of Elizabeth without hesitation. And she frowned for a moment at a pitch high scream.

Her feet, wrapped in white silk socks, were wearing high-heeled shoes that would be eye-pricking to look at.

“Your Highness. You can’t do this. Can you please let go? Your Highness the Crown Prince!”

“Shh, be quiet. If you stay calm, it will be over soon, alright?”

Damn, why the hell was he talking like that with the body of a child.

Leonhardt took off Elizabeth’s shoes, swearing inwardly. He didn’t like it because it reminded him of how unscrupulous her parents were .

Elizabeth was completely distressed, she had no clue what to do.

She told herself to stay calm, but her body was trembling nonstop. Elizabeth clenched her fists and somehow applied strength to her legs to calm her body.

Prince Leonhardt took off her heavy shoes and put her feet over his knees.

Elizabeth thought she was fortunate that the tights she wore today were thick enough. The high-heeled shoes drove her weight to the tips of her toes, and by that, her toes had been completely contorted.

She did not want to show such an unsightly appearance to His Highness the Crown Prince.

As Elizabeth could barely breathe, Leonhardt put on the shoes he had bought for her and tied the ribbons himself.

Leonhardt, wearing the last shoe to the other foot, rose with a satisfied expression.

“Try standing up.”

Elizabeth stepped down from her chair. She was amazed.
