The Fate Defying Storm Of Blood

Chapter 4 - A New Outlook of Power

Rando was holding back until now. Now he didn't show any intent to hold back. They couldn't do anything to stop him. They had to defeat him as soon as possible. But the only person who could take a good shot was Alcara their flier and water summoner. But he was defeated almost immediately after the seniors entered. They had no way to defeat him. Rando suddenly started shooting lightning from all his body. He was just a lightning cloud in the air.

"Why would he do that? He will take down his own teammates!" Light thought. But one look at the battlefield cleared his answer. The reason they chose Jang and Garo was that not only do they have complete resistance from Rando's attacks but they also complement his powers. Rando releases lightning but lightning from the sky has a low probability of hitting the target. This is because Lightning travels through the least resistive path offered by the air and this keeps changing constantly.

But using Jang can make his skin a metal, and controlling the polarity in it, he can easily change the direction of the lightning by acting as a living metal rod.

Garo can deflect any attack in the 5-meter radius towards the direction he wants. They could take down all of them and still not break a sweat.

They had to take out Rando quickly. Before they lose everyone else.

"Jax, can you make a gun? A crude one will be fine!" Maurlin asked.

"Of course! It will be way easier then!" Light exclaimed.

"A gun? The best I can do is a crossbow! " Jax said

"Of course !" Light thought " The only limit for creation magic is the user's imagination which is exactly what Jax was not good at! It would be good for anyone else. Knowing Jax, even a crossbow is a little too much to ask for!"

Maurlin quickly took the crossbow and took aim at Rando. Her aim and stance were perfect. She released the arrow and ...

Jang quickly attracted the arrow towards him. With a chain of perfectly coordinated attractions and repulsions, he quickly turned the arrow towards Maurlin and fired it. If it weren't to Jax's shield, Maurlin would have suffered serious injuries."

" Thanks," Maurlin said with a mortified face. But it was too wrong a time for gratitude. Lightning was hitting them from all directions. There were only there people left.

Light was still awestruck by Jang's control over his power." How did he…??? What if..…." He mumbled.

Suddenly he asked Maurlin" Can you make a smooth curved ramp, leading to Rando?"

"Don't tell me ….."

"Yes that's what I'm telling you, now can you??"

"Yes, I can now. " With a flick of her hands, she made a ramp and suddenly got struck by a stray lightning bolt. She was knocked down without making another sound.

Light ran up the ramp with a speed he never reached -mach 1. But he still knew he wouldn't be able to get a good shot on Rando.

He ran and reached the end of the ramp. He jumped off and was about to reach Rando when he suddenly stopped the speed on his left leg. Controlling the speed on something as insignificant as his leg didn't decrease his speed by much and he was able to reach Rando.

With a mix of swimming and really wobbly acrobatics, he got into a kicking position such that his leg would reach Rando. He suddenly manipulated the speed in his left leg and reached mach 1 right before kicking Rando

"MACH STYLE: SUPERSONIC KICK!" He screamed and kicked Rando to the ground. Before falling down himself.

"I quit," said Rando and as the score was still 0-0 and as juniors didn't lose their captain, they won.

"That name was really cheesy," Rando said laughing.

"You do know why I named it right?" Light asked, Wondering how Rando didn't have a scratch after a mach powered kick.

"To look cool? You fail at that, you know!"

"No!" Light said while smiling, " A technique can be learned better if it has a name associated with it. Don't tell me you didn't know that."

"Why is my Lil brother such a nerd?" Rando asked jokingly.

This was the first time Rando ever called him a brother. Light held back some tears." Dinner today ?" He asked.

"Yeah! I'll pay. I lost didn't I ?"

Light had a question but forgot about it...

"Yep, I'll be there at 8."

Light's confidence was on a whole new level. No amount of training could help him figure out such a great way to use his magic. Nonetheless, he was still nowhere near his father or Rando. He had to train even harder to even catch up to them. He managed a glance at Maurlin and Jax.

"Well, they are going strong!" He thought, referring to how Jax and Maurlin were holding hands after she woke up. Mr. Yonko was the proudest man there. Not only did the juniors win they also found a better way to work together. Who knew Light would be so smart?

But this newfound happiness wasn't to last long. After about 3 hours of the class being awestruck and Maurlin getting proposals from about every guy in class(much to Jax's chagrin), Light was in his neighborhood and saw the fateful man.

Present time

Light was still thinking about how cute his sister was when the cold presence stopped. He turned to look back and saw the man's face so well it was burned in his mind.

White hair, Blue-eyed, freckleless face, and a small goatee on his chin. He would be in his 20's. If he wasn't so bloodstained anyone would've believed he was a model. Light couldn't take his eyes off him. The man's eyes terrified him. His eyes were lifeless and calculating. Light was scared of him. Still, he knew he couldn't leave him. Without another thought, he initiated his newly learned kick. The man didn't change his look. He didn't even move. He just disappeared and the kick passed right through him.

Light noticed he dropped something or rather, left it there. It looked like a medal of some sort. It had a red swallow outline with black filled in inside. The background was white and the entire part behind the picture was made of gold.

There was no mistaking it. It was the medal of a Spellking.
