The First Evolution

Chapter 217: Discovery

Just like the robes in Mrs. Mokin’s robe specialty store before them, at one glance, you would know that they are all high-end items. Most of them could be brought out of this world after they were worn. However, the prices started from 6 figures. Of course, there were items sold for tens of Galleons and even down to just a few Galleons, but ahem, they were not as good as the Kevlar combat uniform that Fang Linyan was currently wearing.

The same could be said about the magic brooms in the Quality Quidditch Supplies. Once you’ve mastered the flying skill, you could go anywhere you want in a heartbeat. It flew fast and didn’t need fuel. Thinking about it, if it was switched to the magic weapons from the Oriental legends, it could only be comparable to Ne Zha’s Wind and Fire Wheels or Sun Wukong’s somersault cloud!

Of course, Fang Linyan would want just a marvelous thing,

But, it was still that most repeated phrase among mobile gamers: I can’t afford it…

This thing (with the special characteristics of being able to bring it out of the world) was more expensive than similar typed magic robes!

In this case, what could Fang Linyan do? He could only go to Gringotts to save up.

***

Gringotts was a four-story building with a very unique style, and each floor was tilted in a different direction. It looked like a Jenga building that could collapse at any moment.

There was also a nameplate with golden frame next to the building, which recorded the long history of the place.

The whole name for Gringotts was called Gringotts Wizarding Bank. It was a bank run by goblins, known for its safety and reliability. After walking into the door, there were 2 brightly polished doors opened. 2 goblins dressed in scarlet-gold uniforms guarding each side.

They had long pointed ears, big noses, green skin, hair tied up like a brush, and thick lips that seemed to be smirking at all times, and the sabres around their waists seem to be lethal.

Sadly, these guys were less than a metre tall, making all the decorations and even their uniform seem comical.

Fang Linyan tried to go inside, but he was blocked by a goblin guard with a sharp voice,

Oh! Sir, this is the holy Gringotts, please state your purpose.”

Fang Linyan replied simply,

“I’m here to save money.”

Goblin guard replied,

“It’s past normal working hours now, so you have to pay a fee.”

Fang Linyan sighed, knowing these guys were like Bone. Charm was useless against them. The only things that would move them were gold and glittering things. So, he could only helplessly fork over a Galleon.

Immediately, the goblin guard showed very professionally trained manner and enthusiastically invited Fang Linyan in. After walking through a long hallway, Fang Linyan found a big silver door before him. There were warnings to all who entered Gringotts Wizarding Bank on the door. They were undoubtably curses of sorts.

These sentences were welded to the door with bronzing words. They looked brand new as if they would never discolor.

Fortunately, there were no goblin guards here. This was without a doubt, an extremely thoughtful setting.

After walking through the silver gate, Fang Linyan entered a spacious marble hall. There were about 10 large and thick marble pillars in this hall, making it look very luxurious. From time to time, an eye would appear on the pillars, quickly blinking and then disappearing. It was obvious that if one attempted to steal here, he would be caught.

There were about a dozen goblins sitting behind a long counted made of beech wood, waiting for customers to approach. Since there were no customers at this time, some of them were eating animal shaped biscuits, others were using magnifying glasses to observe the flaws in some gemstones, and some were also flicking the scale in front of them with their fingers out of boredom. There was an indescribable shrewdness in the eyes of these little green-skinned guys.

Just as Fang Linyan was about to descend from the stairs toward a one of the counters, suddenly, a strange eye appeared on the pillar beside him, staring at him unwavering!

Then, another eye appeared on the steps!

And before he came back to his senses, a steel cage fell from above and trapped him within. Then, a group of goblins surrounded him. There were even 4 magic wands pointed at him.

Faced with this situation, Fang Linyan, who was inexperienced, felt a chill running through the soles of his feet to his scalp. He raised his hands and shouted,

“Misunderstanding! It must be a misunderstanding. I will comply to whatever you say. Don’t shoot, ah, no, don’t use magic on me.”

It was obvious that these goblins were not listening to what Fang Linyan said at all. They just followed the procedures. First, they got Fang Linyan to stand still, then they cast detection magic upon him. They tried to locate the problem with Fang Linyan. In the end, it was determined to be an issue with the Eye of Protection…

Finally, after identifying the cause of the alarm, a goblin wearing a red hat and a green double-breasted suit came over and introduced himself,

“Hello, my name is Hegel. I am sorry for what happened, sir.”

Fang Linyan smiled wryly,

“Mr. Hegel, this is, in fact, the first time I have been to Gringotts, and I have no malicious intentions. However, I do question the attitude and quality of Gringotts’ service after being treated like this by your people. I’m protesting against the way I was treated. “

Hegel replied seriously,

“The protest is ineffective, sir. It was the blood leech magic on you that triggered our protection system. So if you wish to be free, you have to pay us 4 Galleons to compensate for the casting materials and reinstallation of the mechanism. Otherwise, you will face up to 5 times the bank’s damages and the maximum punishment of 76 days in prison. “

Fang Linyan was taken aback,

“What? What’s on me? Blood leech magic?”

Hegel sternly retorted,

“Yes, sir. I have to remind you that this is among 1 of the 31 black magics that the Ministry of Magic has banned. So if you don’t want to pay for the compensation, you will end up being held accountable by the Ministry of Magic! You might even have to go to Azkaban in the worst case scenario.”

It was then, Fang Linyan instinctively remembered the incomplete black magic book kept in his private space. Of course, he felt a little guilty, and he immediately helplessly pleaded,

“Okay okay, although I don’t know what you’re talking about, but it’s uncomfortable for me to be in this damn cage right now, so here are 4 Galleons…”

After getting the money, the steel cage that imprisoned Fang Linyan was immediately raised, and Hegel’s face immediately bloomed into a warm smile like he had always been politely standing on Fang Linyan’s side. He bowed slightly,

“Dear guest, welcome to Gringotts. I hope you have a pleasant and comfortable experience in Gringotts.”

Fang Linyan sighed,

“Do you think my current experience is pleasant and comfortable?”

Hegel didn’t seem to hear Fang Linyan’s complaints and continued,

“Since the black magic attached to you is a tracking type, the business you can handle in Gringotts will be limited to a small amount, you will not be able to enter the withdrawal area, the warehouse area, and you will not be able to conduct general operations. Loans, simple foreign exchange trading, derivatives, structured financing, strategic investors, payment and settlement business, guarantee business……”

Listening to Hegel’s endless list of unmanageable business, Fang Linyan expressed that he was fed up as he simply said,

“Stop, stop, shop, SHUT UP, stop talking… Just tell me what business I can do?”

Hegel put it succinctly,

“Deposit.”

Fang Linyan replied coldly,

“Very well, bye.”

He originally came to make a deposit. But after he encountered such a thing after coming in, he decided that this pushed at his boundaries, and he simply didn’t want to make a deposit anymore.

As for the 100 plus Galleons, Fang Linyan took it like drizzle. He would rather them be erased when he returned — but of course, that was impossible!

There was still a way to monetize it. For example, he could go to Westminster Abbey with a sign, saying he was selling Galleon for cheap in exchange for common points. There would surely be someone willing to change it, but it would take some time.

However, Fang Linyan decided to disgust these goblins who had nothing but money in their eyes, so he asked Hegel first,

“Do I need to pay to sit and rest here?”

Hegel was a little puzzled, but for the sake of the 4 Galleons before, he still served him with a smile,

“No, sir.”

Fang Linyan shrugged and sat down directly on the step, then he decided to use the most intuitive way to disgust these bastards. He laid out his remaining 120 Galleons on the steps, then he coughed some phlegm into the palm of his hand, poked the phlegm with his finger and tapped on the Galleons.

There was no one in the whole Gringotts now, so of course the Galleons would be the focus of all the goblins present. These goblins were really disgusted with the way Fang Linyan was treating the Galleons, but they couldn’t do anything about it. This scene was painful to them, as if their pure eyes witnessed their first love being ravaged by 2 vicious criminals!

After torturing these goblins for a few minutes, Fang Linyan also knew when to stop. So he put away the Galleons and wanted to leave immediately.

However, as he turned to leave, he was blocked.

Hegel showed a sullen expression and said,

“Sir, please wait.”

Fang Linyan looked at his expression at this time, and he couldn’t help but feel the pleasure of revenge in his heart. Heimmediately shook his head,

“I don’t want to wait. I originally planned to deposit, but now I have a business that I have to leave for. What if I stay here and get fined with another 4 Galleons?”

TL: Well now that at least he knew someone was tracking him right?
