The Fresh Start In An RPG World

"You don't have a lot of people around here, do you? I thought it would be busier." I'll ask Chloe.

The beginning of the kingdom was relatively busy, if you could see someone passing by time or again, as well as some stores, but the closer you got to the center, the richer the place, the scenery changed completely, the number of people was smaller, almost desert.

We are getting closer and closer to the castle, the houses are getting bigger, the difference with those I saw when I entered the kingdom is striking.

We were now in front of a big house, in a matter of size it was equal to the others, but it had an air of simplicity in the same way, which contrasted with its magnitude. It did not have a large fountain in the garden like its neighbors, but at the same time everything was very well cared for, passing an air of simplicity.

"Lucio." Shout Chloe opening the gate and coming in. "I brought the rookie!"

When I run after her I was already halfway there, the way she acts they seem to be very close. I walk into the house behind Chloe.

"Have you reached level two yet?" He talks when he sees us. "It usually takes much longer."

Lucio cleaned his dagger, but there were many books in the seat beside him, he must have spent a long time reading.

"It turned out to be relatively easy, I didn't have to go after them, since a group of goblins came to me." I answer.

He makes a confusing expression, just like Chloe when I told him.

"Did they try to ambush you?" Lucio asks. "Normally goblins don't act that way."

After speaking, he kept quiet for a while, he seemed to be thinking about it, but soon after, he released a laugh, along with a few words. If it's you, I feel like dealing with some goblins is easy.

"So, what's next? Is there anything else I need to do?" I ask him.

It couldn't be that easy... or maybe it is, after all, it doesn't seem so simple to defeat monsters.

Since we arrived we were still standing, Lucio asks us to sit down.

"Now it would be your appointment..." For some reason he keeps quiet after he starts talking.

"I'm really not good with that, but I feel like I have a perfect name for you..." He starts talking as he gets up and goes to the bookcase.

He spends some time looking for something and after a while he comes back with a paper and a pen.

"From now on it will be called Ioan, it means 'God's compassion', it seems a suitable name for someone with the title loved by the gods." he speaks as he writes on paper.

"I appreciate it." I'll answer him.

After he had finished writing, he handed me the paper, which contained four strange symbols.

"It's in the common language of the continent." Lucio says when he sees my expression.

I thought they used the same language as my old world by status, but it doesn't seem to be that way, that trainee god could have warned me about it. When I ask about my status they appear in front of me.

"Ioan... Ilie?" I talk while I read.

"Ilie is the name of my clan, it would be something like a name that represents a family, it was given to me by the one who transformed me, now I'm passing it on to you." He talks by making a big smile.

As I had noticed, in this place there is no day or night, it has been a long time since I came to this world, but there was no difference in the sky, I think if it will be some kind of magic, maybe in this world there is no day and night, unfortunately I can't ask about it, since it would be something very strange.

"We vampires are a monarchy." Lucio starts talking. "There's a family that makes the decisions, but we can also choose representatives in some positions."

"Our royal family is the clan that long ago formed a village in this place, with time was taking on great proportions and more vampires were joining, until today's kingdom was formed." says Chloe.

They decide to explain a few things to me on the way.

"Are there other vampire kingdoms?" I ask.

Lucio thinks a little before answering.

"They would not be kingdoms, but there are some cities on the main island of the continent, and also a group of vampires that live in the shadows on other continents."

"To be something difficult." I answer.

To live in hiding is a difficult thing, I know from my own experience.

"We don't usually worry about them, since it's their choice to go to these places," says Lucio, shrugging his shoulders.

That raises a question.

"Vampires are only born around here? Can't they be born outside the continent?" I ask.

"The original vampires, like you, can only be born here, because they need a great concentration of demonic power to be born, it's also the reason why it takes a long time to be born, so normally everyone is here, if they leave, it's of their own free will," explains Lucio.

Chloe finally decides to join the conversation.

"But there are also similar species in other places, such as the Kathakanos, a breed very similar to vampires, they are born in places with a lot of negative concentration, usually born in disasters and places where something very bad happened.

"What's the difference between them and us?" I ask after hearing your explanation.

"They are weaker in physical and magical strength, but they can win a transformed one in a one-on-one struggle, and they can't transform other species like us either," concludes Chloe.

When she finished talking, we arrived in front of the castle. It was surrounded by a small lake, a bridge was lowered and four guards stood there, wearing uniforms that looked like the English crown guard.

"Ioan Ilie."

"A rookie vampire." Lucio says referring to me.

The soldier raises his eyebrow when he hears those words.

"A rookie, we haven't had one in a long time." says the soldier to the right of the first.

The first soldier didn't seem to go much with Lucio's face, so another soldier decided to intervene.

"Thank you." Lucio answers.

They give us passage, we go in and we go our way. Upon entering the castle we came face to face with a large entrance hall, red carpet, a large staircase to climb and entrances in all directions. Everything was very luxurious, large paintings adorn the walls, armour and vases that seemed to be very expensive.

We entered the corridor on the right, at the end of it was a large wooden door, probably an ordinary human wouldn't be able to move an inch. Lucio talks to two other guards, who were in front of the door, and they open it.

"Come closer." A woman sitting on the throne speaks.

She seemed to have something like twenty years old, her skin was as white as mine, a common feature of the original vampires. His eyes were red, but the color seemed stronger than Lucio's eyes, hair as red as his eyes. He wore a long white embroidered dress.

But something drew more attention than her beauty, along her body there were several black tattoos, they didn't seem to form any drawing or shape, from time to time they blinked in a scarlet red.

"My name's Ruby, I'm the queen of the vampire kingdom." He says looking directly at me.
