Chapter 21 - Quest Board

Abel stood beside the other adventurers looking at the Quest board trying to find a good one to choose.

Scanning through the different quests he noticed that they all had different requirements, some were for parties of five or more, others were for B-Rank adventurers and above, and so on and so forth.

Seeing as how both he and Mary were only F-Rank their selection of quests was extremely limited at this moment.

He searched for some good quests and picked two that he saw from the board. One was to slay five goblins and bring back their ears as proof, and the other was to look for some Manalasis Herb that could be found in the nearby forests.

This herb was used in making mana potions and was needed in vast quantities by alchemists, so there was always collection quests for them.

As Abel was about to turn away to tell the receptionist what Quests he wanted to take he saw a golden flyer in the bottom corner of the quest board and moved closer to see what it was, as it looked very important.

The Flyer read "If you have noticed this notice you will have noticed that this notice is not worth noticing".

Abel nearly fell over as he read the flyer wondering why it was on the quest board, but decided not to say anything about it when he applied for the two quests.

After accepting the two quests Abel left the Adventurer's Guild, and got his horse from the stable at the Hotel, and began to head home with Mary.

They had learned a lot from their trip here in Zalfari, and they would be back once they have increased in level.

They arrived back at Delphi later in the afternoon and noticed the village was still as hardworking as before, with the villagers constantly moving about doing the tasks they were assigned.

Abel went to meet the village chief as he greeted the villagers in passing.

The Village chief warmly welcomed them into his house when he saw them, as he offered them tea.

They sat down as they began to discuss what had happened while Abel was away.

"We are having troubles with monsters in the forest attacking the villagers who leave the vicinity of the village." the village chief said as he told them about the wounded villagers who were attacked.

Abel nodded as he remembered they too were attacked by some forest monsters on their way to Zalfari, but they were able to easily handle them, but it was a different problem entirely with these villagers who did not know how to fight.

"I will think of a solution to this, maybe creating a militia, or starting an army would do good," Abel said as he realized being a king meant you had a lot of problems to deal with.

He decided that after he increased his dungeons defense since it currently only had one orc, then he would buy a secretary or manager, who could delegate for him.
