Wealth was a number to Kaito at this point. The acc.u.mulated bounties he took on eventually created this wealth however it would have been much more if the majority wasn't deducted for the criminals not being alive.

'In many scenarios there are indeed gray areas. Bystanders that could become enemies are a threat while bystanders that could be friends are interesting.'

Kaito thought of Skaoi

'She accepted my love but is this truly love? Fear was used at the beginning and the pressure of The Graceful Scholar. She had already approved of our relationship. To support polygamy and the unknown fear of cheating. I will always treat her like my queen. She bears everything I have. I will follow her every order. This time I will soothe my heart.'

Kaito consoled his heart as he hid inside his room. He pulled out a potion. According to the books it can act as a substitution for a slave contract. It bonds the two people forming a relationship where the person in power will know the every movement and feelings of the other person.

This was a failure for Kaito as he used the wrong type of grass he found around The South. He tested it on countless Monsters however immediately killed them. The person would feel a sense of loss but that's about it.

Kaito planned to use this to help the lady. If he decided that he would get closer then he would use this as the ice breaker. Kaito would instill the potion with his Qi, making him be the person in power and can be used as temporary nourishment for the lady.

'Take it slow. The only reason Skaoi agreed was because of your bulls*** so I need to treat her better.'

With the Qi the potion would help the girl recover so she could talk properly. What good is a conversation if they can't speak out their thoughts. Because it was Kaito's Qi it would only activate in the close proximity.

This does seem to be a scary potion if it was hidden in a person's drink but the problem for Kaito was that this could only be used for people around Grade 1-2 making it useless as a poison.

Kaito shrugged at this accomplishment

'This is not my path for my blacksmithing is my priority. Assassination does indeed poison but if they I exert my focus eventually there will be no point.'

Kaito thought further

'Everything seems so superficial. Dead parents, Dead friends. Random master, incoherent whispers in my head. Is this what heaven set up my fate to be.'

Kaito awoke from these thoughts and looked outside to see the time everyone would start waking up. His elaborations and thoughts he mulled upon took up the remaining night.

"My existent feels so little. that is fine...."

He spoke out his thoughts and felt a wave of relief

"...that means no big responsibilities."

'Responsibilities are important in life however the responsibility of millions of people is of no concern to me.'

Andrea and Jiao Bai woke up and already wore their uniforms while Jiao Bai seemed less tired than usual.

Andrea still smiled however Jiao Bai was on the verge of crying

"Master...I've been wronged...wuwuwu"

Jiao Bai sobbed away his stories as he told how Andrea started 'experimenting' with him.

"I don't have any honor anymore...wuwuwu"

Kaito chuckled at these shenanigans that played out and looked away while Andrea stared Jiao Bai down.

Kaito wasn't cold hearted to Jiao Bai but was more generous to Andrea however that does not mean he will completely throw Jiao Bai under the bus

"You guys have anything going on at school"

Andrea stopped to think and explained

"I think we have one of those school festivals. We need to investigate a part of the Destruction Era and do something about it. What are you picking Jiao Bai."

Kaito pondered about the school festival and was worried while Jiao Bai was dragged to school

'Skaoi and I are usually kept from most group activities because of our reputation. The Ice Scholar and a student absent from weeks of school. I guess this is another treat'

"Why! Your on your death bed yet you don't have a spouse. You stay on your bed doing nothing! I knew you were hiding something. The doctor said only a few months!"

The man whimpered his sorrows yet held back his voice. His hands gripped onto his clothing, resisting the d.e.s.i.r.e the grab her collar.

The lady in white emotionless looked at the man and wrote

It was clear handwriting and the girl showed no agitation towards the man however he slammed the door and exited.

Tears crept down his chin as he whispered to himself

"We had so much ambition yet this was the result."

The man punched the wall in a daze dwelling on the past that will not offset the future.

"Really?"

"They think we're trouble so we can just skip out."

Kaito wasn't surprised by their classmates decisions but was amazed by their resolution.

There were some people who clearly felt guilty as they would ask Skaoi and Kaito to participate while their friends jeered at their efforts.

Despite being outcasted they were still found with fault as they would get called out for other people's failure but they would not act upon their clam, only talking because of their short temper.

Kaito ignored their antics and investigated [Library Host]. Despite the millions of books Kaito has already read there were still many to go.

Kaito primarily looked for encyclopedias. Strangely there were many books with notes most likely left by Sylvia.

Kaito found a slate but it was moldy and a book worn out

The book had faint pictures but the scriptures were clear

Kaito's first thought was that this was a story book however compared to all of Sylvia's books it was very unlikely

The slate had something that was similar to his [Eyes of Truth] that had a faint similarity to Kaito's thought

Kaito originally felt the first part was similar to his ideals in which there are people who harm or people who are close to him. The last part was disturbing as it only questioned fundamental laws without anything to support this claim.

Kaito came back to reality to witness a funny scene

It was the man that kept on harassing Skaoi

Kaito witnessed him throwing down a flower and running away

"Wast? Let me have some fun. They are nothing more than puppets. Do not fret. Have they found the Blue Pierrot?"

The man who ran out of the classroom attained a calm composure as he talked to the older man in formal attire

"The damages have acc.u.mulated to over a million dollars due to the unexpected result. The family of co-workers are rioting for payment and words. This makes the rough estimate of $2,564,728,114."

The man's eyes burned with rage however retained his composure once more

"We'll find him"

Kaito sighed as time went on.

"What will Li Ning tell me? Who is really Andrea? Will you tell me"

"Who's Andrea? Did you already get another one"

Kaito was confused by this question and turned to look to his left

Skaoi was staring him down with her expressionless face. Kaito's intuition told him that her eyes were glaring at him with anger

"She...you remember Elder's cave where I confessed. That is where you'll find out..."

"...I promise I won't get people you'll hate so please...wait."

Skaoi was initially stunned by Kaito's silent mumbling and held back her anger waiting for Kaito's answer

*Ding*

A notification went off and Kaito felt a slight vibration in his pockets. He flipped open his phone to see a text

"10:00"

Was all that was sent.

Skaoi entered the cave and use her phone's flashlight to navigate her way.

The cave was still painted with red and no animals were in sight.

The dripping water was still heard, incoherently echoing through out the cave

Kaito used his flashlight and focused on the messily engraved word

Skaoi focused her sight on the word and felt astonished for a moment

"Andrea"

"Wait, Kaito... I"

Kaito used his index finger to block her words by sealing her mouth

As he whispered those words he pecked her forehead with love.

Kaito felt he forgot a few words to these dead ones.

He found a stone on the ground and used his Qi to try and smoothen his engravings

"Skaoi this is my life. If they are gone then you can help me. I love you."

Just as Kaito finished his sentence he finished his engravings. He pulled Skaoi closer to him and moved on

Skaoi stole a glance at the wall aided by her flashlight to see 4 more names

"Papa John Mama Maria Uncle Mike Aunty Sophia"

Skaoi covered her mouth and looked back to Kaito.

His long white hair still danced to the wind and his smile carefree of worry. His eye only looked in Skaoi's direction.

"Loved ones should not be forgotten, right."
