The Great Worlds

Chapter 24 - How Dramatic

Kaito formulated the plan and noted it down before he could forget it.

"Hang out with Andrea and Jiao Bai

Date with Skaoi

Pass note to Mallory {Any Time}

Dramatic Drama"

Kaito prayed that he wouldn't forget the last part of his plan if he didn't understand it.

"Let's initiate it"

...

Kaito wandered around the school awaiting for time to pass as he found a few interesting locations.

He came across a gaming location that was showing off latest games, trailers or movies relating to that franchise. Next to that area was a section layered with computers with a sign that gave instructions for customers.

The computers were well maintained while the fee to chill and play games with friends was very friendly, encouraged and cheap.

'Definitely Jonathan'

With the cost in mind this had to be Jonathan, The Game Scholar with low prices and most likely advertising his games. The games were mostly historical games that depicted some low amounts of gore as it was aimed at teenagers but it was no wonder why they passed it for its relativity to the theme.

'What a smart plan'

Kaito continued along the school buildings until he finally left to one of his main purposes.

Jiao Bai and Andrea.

According to what Kaito read on the pamphlet their class was to be framed as one of the higher classes that was underground.

During the era before many higher up people known for intelligence or skill would be hidden beneath the ground so their genes could be saved and further on. They were hated for their cowardice as they left the rest of humanity to die.

The descendants of such lost the chance for an extreme mutation due to the environment and later died. The few that still live are similar to other people by relying on the other mate's gene.

Many condemn them but others protect them, prioritizing humanity.

They were serving food but they were all too familiar to Kaito.

"Earl Grey Tea

Soda

Canned Tuna

Burgers

Soylent"

Kaito whispered these to himself but the Earl Grey was far too noticeable.

'I would like to drink the original flavor of Bubble Tea but no matter what Andrea would always order an Earl Grey Milk Tea.'

He was reminiscent of the past and so without awareness he walked forward and asked a random waitress for Earl Grey tea

Kaito scanned the surroundings. The walls were supposed to simulate the metal walls of underground shelters but the tape gave it off far too quickly. The menus were quite well made as they seemed brittle with some of the pages dyed in brown and torn.

The waiters were dressed in clothes similar to servants during that era however to Kaito they seemed like a formal butler uniform. The only thing Kaito felt odd was there was no maid costume. In place of that the butler uniform was used to suggest that servants had no other identity.

'Cruel? It has nothing to do with me so why would it be cruel?'

Kaito reassured his thoughts as he waited to assess his tea.

"Here's your order. An Earl Grey Tea"

Kaito looked towards the voice and realized he was talking to Andrea.

The butler uniform made her look suave but because it was meant for unis.e.x there was no clear outlier for her, making it seem baggy.

'I wonder how sad Jiao Bai is?'

Andrea roughly estimated Kaito's question as she explained to Kaito

"Jiao Bai was in the question. I don't know why but he seemed...frustrated?" but was ignorant to Jiao Bai's sorrow.

Kaito sighed at this development but took a sip of his tea

It was disappointing.

'Compared to what Andrea drank this wasn't anywhere close to how sweet it was.'

Subtle hostility crept into his heart from such bitter thoughts but Kaito instantly recovered and chugged the tea without care of the stares he was receiving

He could hear their laughter and mocking insults

"So barbaric?"

"Doesn't this make me elegant now"

Laced with sarcasm they were directed not at Kaito for who he was but for whoever messed up allowing them to show off, unlucky it was Kaito.

'This is a world. They laugh at such matters. Will I think the same when returning to Earth? Is there any need to return besides Li Ning?'

Such thoughts drifted through Kaito's head. The little things Kaito used to think were big. A job. Exams and tests seemed so far away. He refused to live such a boring life but he did d.e.s.i.r.e to be reminded but exactly 'home' was.

'Li Ning should start telling me some answers soon'

Kaito looked into the distant future and left towards his next destination, The Theater and Mallory

...

"You know I was very surprised when you wanted to take a stroll. Are you finally listening to my words and looking for a spouse."

The man joked around however the girl still kept a deadpan face. No response or respect was seen but she still answered

"No"

A single word shut up the chatty man but he still described their destination

"Mallory, we're going to what a small part of our success has led to."

She witnessed a very high tech surrounding. Surreal animations was all around the room with the giggling of girls and the toxic typing. Boys chattered their frustrations while once in a while you could hear yelling despising their teammates.

"This is what we worked for. All our hard work payed off. They may seem angry but they're having fun."

Mallory finally let out a smile but she resumed back to her serious face. The man still couldn't help praise her

"The only reason we made it here was my wits that allowed us to survive and your calculations. They were the building block to our eventual success. Come on smile again."

Mallory took the time to finally strike back and shamelessly asked

"Have you gotten a spouse yet?"

The man would have answered normally but when coming from Mallory he could only stutter

"uh-um....n-n-no. W-w-w-Wait. I just want a longer freedom. You should start thinking about your age first."

He switched the topic back to the girl however at the cost of her anger.

"So you're calling me an old hag now. Jon you should know the consequence"

Silence and cold sweat was the answer to her question.

As Jon apologized Mallory ignored him. She was more focused on something she found much more important. A note. A piece of paper. Something she found much more important than her friend that is helping her.

Someone that could help her.

The note was cryptic in messy handwriting but one thing was clear.

"1:30 Theater"

Mallory's eye twitched a little but Jon never noticed.

"Let's go"

...

The legend of Ornoctos.

A local story recollected by scriptures from bards of the era before.

The narrator introduced the story as it echoed through the theater. Everyone payed attention however with everything there were people who hated this.

"Bunch of bullcrap"

"When you can't be original you got to do what you got to do."

Despite knowing the theme people still ignored the performance and rather comment on how unprofessional they expected it to be.

"An absolute genius of poetry and music. He his music could attract animals and was said to bring rocks to life."

A man came out of the curtains from the left along with a guitar. He sat on a ready placed rock however there was no special effects with only the light shining.

"As he traveled with a group of heroes he managed to find a wife, Euridite. They married but he felt a sense of danger. He never knew until he saw his wife once more. "

The man suddenly stood up and held hands with an actress before disappearing to the side while the lady dramatically fell down. Echoing a loud thump.

"The man mourned for the loss as he played out a song to represent his grief. The gods heard the music and opened a portal. Allowing the man to meet Hades, the ruler of the underworld."

The actor pretended to cry as he covered his face with his hand and took out his guitar. An angelic voice followed after before the curtains closed once more. Once opening the curtains the scene was glittered with fire.

The low pitch of screaming was heard in the background from speakers while amazing effects of fire lit the theater. These effects surprised the audience however people still stuck to their original attitude.

This was all nice and dandy but one problem.
