The Human Saint Is Bored, So I Was Summoned To Another World

Chapter 1 - Prologue-A Meeting in the Desert

Silence prevailed in the valley as the opposing hosts meet. Thousands of colorful banners flutter in the air. The light reflecting from the polished armors and shields of the knights and soldiers standing opposite of us is blinding my eyes temporarily. At the immediate front of both sides are the leaders of the two of the greatest kingdoms of this land: the 'spiritual' head of the human armies, the 'Great Saint of Chersea', Madelaine Ann Rubinforth, and the king of the demon clans, Hurion Devras IV.

"…"

As the armies stood by, the Saint and the Demon King stepped forward and met at the middle of the arid plain. Flanked by their side's greatest generals and servants, they gave each other the honorary salute, before going down to the details of what they want to talk about.

It was King Hurion who broke the ice, "I do believe that this isn't your kingdom anymore, Human Saint. What brings you to our lands?"

"My apologies, Demon Lord." The Saint, Madelaine, answered, "But I think you already know what I came here for."

"Is that so…" King Hurion seemed to ponder for a moment, "Well, if we can still settle this peacefully, I can offer you the best of our lands, the brightest of our people, and the bravest of our—"

"I thought I've made it clear, King Hurion." Saint Madelaine's gentle and smiling expression belies the seeping pressure coming from her, "I don't need anything else from you. I only want 'that'."

"'That'?"

"Yes, 'that'."

"I'm sorry, I can't seem to understand." Oh lord, there goes King Hurion on his antics, with his 'playing innocent-going sarcastic' face. He's purposefully pissing Maddie—I mean, Saint Madelaine—off once again.

"'T-That!'" Saint Madelaine's face is as red as a beet and her speech begins to stammer.

"Can you say it right?" King Hurion's face displays a nasty smirk.

I think this is getting out of hand. Shouldn't I intervene now—

I felt someone grab my arm. It was the Demon King's servant and part-time general, Shevaun Ilkes. Her expression tells me that it's a 'No. Don't interfere.' And she also had a sarcastic smile on her lips.

Those two idiots are really enjoying this, huh?

"Muu!" Saint Madelaine is already pouting, which is quite un-Saint-ly of her, "I told you, 'that'!" She was pointing towards my direction; I can already see the veins popping on her head. "I think you're not that stupid for me to spell it out for you."

"Well, I can't grant your demands if you don't tell me EXACTLY what you want."

Don't play around, Demon King…you don't know that girl you're dealing with.

"…" A round of deafening silence echoed through the valley.

I can already imagine the triumphant smiles of King Hurion and the maid, Shevaun. They really do enjoy bullying people, aren't they?

"…ro…" the Saint seemed to be muttering something incomprehensible. She started trembling while her face was redder than before.

"Ha?" King Hurion is playing dumb, "'Ro'? Who's 'Ro'?"

You're going to get us all killed, Your Infernal Highness.

"I SAID I WANT MY KURO BACK, YOU STUPID DEMON KING!" Saint Madelaine finally snapped; her servants were restraining her from pulling her sword.

Yep, totally un-Saint-ly.

"Whoa, calm down Human Saint!" King Hurion quickly relented. Though he's got a quite nasty side to him, the Demon King still wants to just get along with everyone.

Sometimes I wonder if he's really a Demon King.

So anyway, King Hurion turned to me and said, "So what do you think, Kuro? It seems that the Human Saint wants you back."

I swallowed out in fear. Maddie—I mean, Saint Madelaine—glared at me and I can feel the heavy pressure from her saying, 'Come here.' But well…

"…"

I looked at the demon soldiers standing behind me. They had this apprehensive expression on their faces, clearly, they don't have anything to do with this conflict. And when I look at the human armies in front of us, I can clearly see our side's disadvantage.

I don't want to escalate this stupid confrontation any longer. My decision can end this at once.

Without further delay, I took a step forward towards the Saint's side.

However—

"Where are you going Kuro?"

It was King Hurion. His eyes were dead serious, as if he's going to rampage mercilessly.

"Well, I-uh…I don't want to continue this conflict, Your Highness." I answered, quite trembling. It was one of the few times I saw him having that scary face.

"I only asked for your opinion." he refuted, "I don't remember giving you the permission to go to the human side."

"But—"

King Hurion quickly shot me down with his fierce glare. His face tells me the 'Don't go over there; you're mine.' expression. Even the demon soldiers could feel the ominous aura emanating from him, and the nose of his servant Shevaun is already bleeding while displaying a perverted face—

"…" Ahem, forget about Shevaun.

Anyway, with a threatening person like that around, I don't think I could carry on any longer; so, I backed down.

"Human Saint, you know that as demon folk, we value our words." King Hurion began to explain, "As I am the Demon King, I have to set example for my kin. This poor human soul here, Kuro, had come to my court seeking for protection, and as someone who promised him refuge I can't betray his trust."

"So you are telling me…"

"We the Demon folk won't hand him over to you."

Another moment of silence. Both the Demon King and the Human Saint stood face to face and glared at one another, with not one side willing to yield to the other. With every minute that passed, the ominous aura between the two leaders grew stronger, and everyone in that valley could feel the suffocating tension permeating the air.

"…"

King Hurion's commanding presence and intimidating looks could easily cause an ordinary human to faint, that is, in normal conditions. However, at this moment, his threatening appearance is doubled—no, make that tripled.

You could say that, King Hurion indeed looked like the evil demon lord of the legends.

"…"

But the Human Saint, Madelaine Ann Rubinforth, isn't one meant to be a pushover. Her delicate features belie the fact that she can exert tremendous pressure to everyone around her when she needs to. With that polished armor wrapped around her body, one could mistake her for a holy warrior—something like a paladin.

"…"

The staring contest continued for some time. I think I'm beginning to see some soldiers sitting down and fanning themselves to ease the heat. Oh, I can also hear some guys throwing bets on who would win between the Demon King and the Human Saint. Shevaun got her drawing pad and started to draw something while laughing maniacally.

And then, after a moment that seemed like forever, the Human Saint took a step back. Everyone on the human side was surprised.

"Seems like I won't be able to convince you." Saint Madelaine smiled and shrugged, "Alright Demon King Hurion, you win this time."

No one dared to shout triumphantly. All who witnessed that was dumbfounded, including me. I think it's because the Human Saint, Madelaine Ann Rubinforth, is well-known for her stubbornness. She won't stop until she gets what she wants…

And for the Demon King Hurion Devras IV to defeat her is just unprecedented.

King Hurion turned to me and smiled. He had this 'You're safe now' face as he walked towards our direction.

"…"

And I could imagine Shevaun, who was behind me, imagining perverted things. That stupid maid's really into men-to-men stuff.

Anyway, congratulations King Hurion, my respect for you went up a little bit.

"However!" Everyone froze when they heard that shrill voice ringing through the air.

It seems the Human Saint isn't done yet.

"We're only starting Demon King!" I can see flames on the Saint's eyes even as she shows her usual 'saintly' smile. "I'll make sure to grind your cities to the dust with my armies. Your fields will be utterly desolated from my wrath. And I'll leave no trace of your kind for refusing my demands! However, as I am a kind and generous Saint, I'll make your deaths quick and painless—you'll never even know what hit you!" Then she ended that with an evil laugh.

But the Demon King Hurion remained unmoved by her threats.

Ha! Take that, Saint! That's a real demon lord for you!

"…"

Wait. He really is not moving.

"Ah darn it, Kuro!" it was Shevaun, "I think His Infernal Highness fainted while standing!"

"What?!"

Indeed, when we took a glance, King Hurion's eyes were all white and his mouth was bubbling.

Now I'm confused as to who is the real Demon King.

"Kuro…" I heard the Saint's gentle and alluring voice call out for me, which gave me the chills, "I told you, didn't I? You won't escape from me, no matter where you go. Now please, give it up and return to my side."

Without the demonic army's leader, and to avoid further bloodshed, I decided to swallow my fear. I turned to Shevaun, "Hey, looks like this is the end for me. Thanks for everything you and your kin did for me."

The maid's eyes began to shed tears, "It's okay, Kuro. We understand, and thank you for considering our lives. If you got time, please do visit us, okay?" She hugged me tight.

"Please take care of His Infernal Highness for me!"

"Yes, I will." Shevaun waved her hand to say farewell, and I can see the regrets in her eyes.

Ahh…that maid really got close to me when I was in the demon country after all…

"AH F.U.C.K! NOW I CAN'T CONTINUE THE KURO-HURION SHIP! THIS F.U.C.K.I.N.G SUCK!"

I pretended not to hear that. Please do pretend nothing happened as well, dear readers…

Why am I being surrounded with people having brain damage? Can't I even have a normal friend?

*sigh*

How did it even come to this?
