The Imposter Princess

Chapter 2 - Forced

Arriving at the Yin mansion after the tense car ride, Yin Hai demanded only Yin XinYi to head up to his study with him. The two quickly walked through mansion halls into the soundproof study.

Her father sat down on the big, plush leather chair facing the oak desk while XinYi sat down on the other chair facing him. XinYi looked at her father. Her father started to speak.

"XinYi, did you really-"

"-Father. Why bother asking if you already have an opinion?"

Looking at his daughter in front of him, he could only sigh. She was right. He already had a bias against her. How could he not? The evidence was clearly laid out against her.

"XinYi, you are my daughter even if we are not related by blood. You are a Yin. My family. The only path I have is that you will be sent abroad for an undecided amount of time until this tides over. That is the only way to protect you."

Protect her? Protect her from what? False accusations? It hurt more coming from her family member that he didn't believe her than anybody else. He didn't even try. He raised her for more than two decades but yet, he believed an outsider over her.

"I understand. I shall comply with your wishes," she replied. Before her father would say a word, she got up and left the study.

Logically, she knew why he would think that way. The evidence was presented by Long Kai. A man well-known in the business world. He had connections and information channels that she couldn't dream of. He would definitely verify the information. Even she would have believed the information that Long Kai provided if she was in her father's shoes. However, Yin XinYi was emotionally hurt. She didn't want to admit it. It was already a blessing that her father didn't disown her but instead only sent her abroad to protect the family name.

Arriving in her room, she started packing for her new life. She knew that her father would plan everything out for her and she only needed the daily essentials. She grabbed her wardrobe, her skincare, cosmetics, and her electronics. Going to the safe in her walk-in closet, she took out all of her important doc.u.ments and some extra money in preparation.

Someone knocked on XinYi's bedroom door before opening it themselves. It was her mother, Madam Yin. "XinYi, remember to pack some warm clothes. It gets quite cold there. Your father has already bought the plane tickets. Your flight is tomorrow at 9 am to Country 1. You'll be landing in City N," she reminded

"Yes, mother. Thank you," XinYi blandedly replied. Her mother looked as if she wanted to say something but decided against it and left the room.

XinYi finally finished packing for her life abroad. Feeling tired, she took a shower before heading to bed in order to get some rest.

At 5 am of the next day, XinYi woke up. She refreshed herself in the bathroom. She decided to wear layers just Incase the plane was cold. She wore a white blouse paired with black, ripped jeans and grabbed a jacket before heading downstairs for breakfast. Her mother, father, and older brother were all there waiting for her while her sister, Yin Yating was notably absent. After consuming the hearty breakfast the chef had prepared for her, she grabbed her suitcase that the maids had brought down and was prepared to leave.

Hugging her older brother, Yin Chao, who was at the company the night she was accused, she bade him farewell. He recieved her hug and warned her, "Be careful in Country 1. It's very dangerous over there."

XinYi nodded at him before hugging her parents. The family was sad to see her go but it was necessary both for her and them. Waving at them one last time, she entered the car while the chauffeur loaded her suitcase on the car.

When she arrived at the airport, she was quickly checked in since she had a first class seat. She decided to relax in the first class community lounge. When she went in, there was just a singular person in it. It was a rather handsome male dressed in a suit. He was clearly working so she was careful not to bother him. She decided to sit near a window away from him as to refrain from being a distraction.

Soon, her plane arrived and she was allowed to board it. Coincidentally, the young man was also boarding the same plane. XinYi was guided to her seat by a flight attendant. There were very few first class passengers on the plane. Closing her seat screen for privacy, XinYi finally allowed herself to ponder about the condemnation she had faced.

Who framed her? Who had the power to fool Long Kia? Most importantly, why her?
