The Imposter Princess

Chapter 5 - Questions

"I suppose the first question I should ask is: what is your name?" Yin XinYi asked the young man in front of her.

He took a sip of his c.o.c.ktail and replied, "Tian. You can call me Tian. What is your name?"

"Yi. Is this your first time flying into Country 1?"

"No. I've been there before. I would recommend you to have a name in language E3 for Country 1. My name is Andrew. Do you know how to speak the language?" he said to Yin XinYi.

She politely thanked him for his advice and said, "Yes I do. I'll keep that in mind."

"Why are you flying to the country?"

XinYi paused before answering, "I'll be living there. What about you?"

"Personal visit."

Yin XinYi had already graduated from a university. She majored in psychology and went to the most prestigious school in the world for psychology. Using her knowledge of human behavior and the experience she received from being part of the elites in society, she could tell that he was only giving her parts of truths. It wasn't hard to figure out why. She was a stranger that he had just met. Therefore she didn't pry into his secrets and steered the conversation away to a safer topic.

"Interesting," she murmured. "How are you?"

When she said that, Yin XinYi studied the man before her. He was definitely attractive. She had noticed that the first time she saw him. Dressed in a three-piece suit, he was tall, around 6 '2 and fit. He had a sharp jawline and a beautiful profile. He was clearly a gentleman and had a scholarly aura. His eyes were unreadable but they were better than being harshly judgemental.. He had charisma, elegance and was polite. He was definitely from upper society.

While Yin XinYi was studying Tian, he was also studying her. She had a very calm temperament with unreadable emotions. Occasionally she would smile however, it was a business smile. She was beautiful and was able to keep a conversation going, but was very careful not to reveal anything too personal about herself. The way she carried herself with confidence and carefree as if she lived her life as she wanted. However, to those that truly paid attention to her, she had no openings in her words or actions.

Yin XinYi continued to take small sips of her sangria. She deliberately had chosen a beverage which had a low alcohol content to keep herself sober.

"22. Still young and imm.a.t.u.r.e," he laughed. "How old are you, Yi?"

Yin XinYi noticed that he sounded bitter. There must be a painful memory behind his words. She pretended that she didn't pick up on it and airily answered his question. "21. The legal age to drink."

Tian winked and said, "You seem very experienced in choosing your alcoholic beverages."

Pretending not to understand at what he was hinting at, she retorted, "Of course. I didn't turn 21 yesterday."

"I suppose so. Do you think they're done? Our wonderful seatmates?"

Agreeing with him, she said, "I sure hope. It has been half an hour. I do wish to sleep."

The two got up and walked back in the direction of their first class seats. It was quiet when they got in front of their doors. There was the faint scent of spring in the air but nothing too noticeable.

"Seems like it ended," Yin XinYi said.

"Mm. I shall return to my room then. It was a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e meeting you, Yi," he said as he nodded and entered his room.

Yin XinYi entered her room also. She returned to her seat which was flat down like a bed and laid on it. With the soft pillow on her head, and warm blanket over her, the sound of the plane's engine lulled her to sleep.

Yin XinYi slept for three hours. Getting up, and she let out a yawn. Calling a flight attendant, she requested food to be brought to her. It was four hours before she arrived in Country 1. This time Yin XinYi ordered the Stir Fried Rainbow Seven, which was a vegetable dish. Digging into the colorful dish, she sighed in p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e. There were many different textures in the dish but they all fit very well together. Yin XinYi was very content. The dishes were cleared and Yin XinYi got up to stretch for a while. She then started to pack up and made sure that all her doc.u.ments and belongings were there. For the first time in 10 hours, she checked her phone. Her father had texted her.

[2701 E Dever St City N, Country 1. That's where you will live. Someone will be waiting for you at the airport. He will guide you to the place. He is wearing a black suit with a gray necktie. The tie pin is our surname Yin.]

She quickly replied:

[I understand.]

She was thankful for her father and one of the benefits of first class, WiFi.

The plane soon touched down. She was guided off the plane by a flight attendant. Her luggage was brought to her and soon she found the guide her father had arranged for her.

"Miss Yin XinYi?" He asked in language C1, her home language. She nodded and he took the luggage from her. He beckoned her to follow and took her to a black car in the airport parking lot. Opening the door, she got in.

The car started driving. Yin XinYi started at the window admiring the scenery. It quite different from Country 86. The roads were wider and there were less cars. There was so much space and greenery all around. The signs were naturally in language E3 but Yin XinYi had no problem reading it. After all, she was well versed in a multitude of languages. That was required of her as a daughter of the Yin family. She had to have etiquette and be well educated.

Yin XinYi was rather anticipating her new life in Country 86. She had a tarnished image in Country 86 but here, she could relax and restart for a few years while she planned to find the true culprit. Some clues may be lost due to time but it was safer for her to wait. After all, her enemy was very powerful. If a gentleman can wait ten years for revenge, why can't she wait to find out the truth?
