Awakening of The Divine Sword

When my sister Ellen took me to the armory, the first thing she said was.

“I hate you mother!”

That’s what she said.

“Don’t say bad things to your own mother.”

I tried to calm her down, but it didn’t seem to be working.

“Licht older brother, what are you talking about? Mother is trying to expel you.”

“‘Expel’ is a harsh word. It’s just being on my own. Sooner or later, I’ll need to leave home as well.”

Well, for me, it was easier mentally to leave the house early and be on my own.

“What are you talking about? Brother Licht is the one who will succeed the Estark family.”

“I’ve never heard that story before.”

“I’ve said it many times.”

“I’ve heard it every time.”

“No more …”

Ellen sighs and approaches a magnificent sword hung on the wall of the armory.

There were several weapons lying around in the armory, but the sword was unique.

There was something about it that even an ordinary person could see. It radiates an aura that makes it very clear that a special power resides in it.

This sword is called “Tyrfing,” the divine sword.

It is a magical sword that has been handed down since the mythology era, and has the power to “never rust or lose its edge,” “tear through stone and iron like cloth,” and “never miss its mark.”

In a word, it was an amazing magical sword, but only a few selected were allowed to wield it.

Ellen approached the sword, touched the scabbard, and lifted it. It was thin, but the way she held the sword was elegant, it was probably due to the fact that she had been trained with a sword since she was a child. The Estark family is a family of sorcerers, but they also put a lot of effort into swordsmanship and take pride in producing magical swordsmen.

Ellen, who was holding the divine sword Tyrfing, tried to pull it out of its sheath, but “bang!” The sword creates an electric shock that cause Ellen to drop the sword to the floor.

“Oh, dear.”

I let out a sigh, and reach out to pick up the divine sword.

As I’m picking up the sword, Ellen made a suggestion.

“Please wait. Before you put it back, Licht older brother, please try to pull out that sword.”

“I refuse to do that.”

“Why?”

“I don’t want to be stung.”

“But older brother Licht, you might be able to pull it off.”

“I can’t do that. This sword can only be drawn by the chosen one. Only those with Estark blood and extraordinary magical power can pull it off.”

“Licht older brother must be the chosen one.”

“Me? No way.”

I let out a dry laugh.

“You know me. I’m a b*****d, an incompetent and have no magic powers.”

“It’s a lie. You used to be able to use magic at will, didn’t you? You breathed life into origami cranes and made them fly, and you healed me when I was injured.”

“…You are misremembering. You must have been dreaming. I’m only an incompetent with no magic powers.”

“Is a lie!”

“I’m not lying. I mean, come on.”

“Yeah…, what do you mean, you are not good enough?”

“It’s all about today. Ellen may think Ellen has good intentions, but honestly, it is annoying. Every time Minerva-sama calls me incompetent, being defended by Ellen is just pathetic. Because I’m incompetent, the same with the banishment. I don’t want to stay in this house. I mean, it’s a blessing in disguise, you know?”

“…, but if you’re banned, I can’t see you anymore.”

“It’s a goodbye for good, and someday you will get married. It’s just that I leaving a little sooner.”

The moment he hears the words, “someday you will get married” tears well up in Ellen’s eyes. her face distorts.

She almost broke down in tears, but she is the daughter of the prestigious Estark family, and her pride would not allow her to break down in tears in public. She covered her face with her hands and ran away from the armory.

“Brother Licht is mean to me…”

I was impressed that she let that slip out in a small voice at the end.

I looked behind, and she picked up the divine sword that had fallen to the floor.

This sword is filled with magical power that can only be touched by a member of the Estark family. The fact that it can be touched is proof that it is in the bloodline of the Estark family, but I don’t feel any emotion about it, let alone pride.

I sigh lightly and put the sword back in its place on the floor.

I stopped myself as I’m putting the sword back to its place.

I had no interest in the bloodline of House Estark, but I was interested in the divine sword itself.

“When I was a child”

I mumbled, the sight I saw when I drew the divine sword came back to me. The beauty of that white blade is hard to describe.

It was more beautiful than any jewel in this world.

“I’ve got the devil in me,” I said, while holding the scabbard of the divine sword in my left hand and the hilt in my right, and drew the sword as it was.

The divine sword is smoothly pulled out without any resistance.

This divine sword can only be pulled out by those with “uncommon magical power”. No one in Estark’s bloodline could pull it off.

His father, who was known as Kirin von Estark, and his two older brothers, who were considered to be the best and could not be surpassed.

I pull out such a sword with ease.
The white blade of the divine sword reflects my face.
My face was expressionless and dull.

“Well, that’s not good, isn’t it? I going to be ostracized by the whole family.”

After letting out these thoughts, I sheathed the sword and placed it in its original position.

The sword shines as Licht returns to his room.

The divine sword is about to be awoken from its several centuries of slumber.

“She,” he says prophetically in his sleep.

A boy who is a b*****d, an abomination, will be the heir to the divine sword and a hero who can use a thousand of holy and magical swords. When the time comes, he will bring harmony to this world.

He mumbled in his sleep and fell asleep again.
