The Kings

32 Just A Teenager In Love

"Shut up!" I threw a pillow nearby at Tang Liang, it smacked him right in the face. I'm assuming it did consider it went quiet for a moment.

What time is it? I grabbed my phone on the nightstand. It was only seven o'clock in the morning... Woah! I had so many missed calls from Mu Yi, my best friend, and Hui Yin.

"How rude," Tang Liang threw the pillow back on the bed. "Whatever, you're forgiven. Take a look at this!"

I groaned in annoyance, by covering the blanket over my head. I want to sleep some more! It's too early for any drama or shouting.

"No, you have to take a look at this." Tang Liang pulled my blanket away and jumped in bed sitting next to me.

What is it that can make him this excited? I took his tablet and did a quick scan at the titles popping up on the screen.

[Breaking News! CEO Mu has a new woman?]

[Shu Meiying has been dumped for a new woman!]

[Pictures of CEO Mu and his new woman at a hotel.]

"Boring." I tossed the tablet back to him. Nothing I did not know already. Plus, I heard her voice last night while on the phone with Mu Yi.

Tang Liang was confused at Anong indifferent attitude towards this news. Didn't she use to have a massive crush on Mu Yi? Did she really not like him anymore? Tang Liang examined Anong's facial expression, right now she did not look like she was hurt or happy about Mu Yi.

He wasn't sure what happened between the two of them either. They were pretty close back then, even closer than he was to her right now.

He still remembers when Anong did everything she could for Mu Yi. A little of his attention would brighten her entire day. A little rejection will damp her day. Anything that came out of her mouth was about Mu Yi this and Mu Yi that. Anong was just a teenager in love. Furthermore, she was willing to make time to go see him at his office. It was when Mu Yi was in training to become the next CEO.

As time passed, Mu Yi started pulling himself away from Anong. While Anong being the persistent one will always make an effort for him.

Then one day around seven years ago, Anong refused to leave her room or go back to school. She was reluctant to talk to anyone or let anyone come into her room. Anong will spend her day gazing out the window as if she was rethinking her life over. The only good thing happening was that she'll eat as asked by her older brothers. Other than that, she didn't do anything all day.

"Anong, can't you talk to me?" Tang Liang sat across from Anong on the window seat. "I'm worried about you."

"Please, you're scaring me. Come back to being the bright, happy Anong I know. The one who always teases me about being superior because you're my aunt."

Anong still did not give a response or reaction to Tang Liang's plead. Then one day out of the blue, she announced she'll be studying abroad to everyone, and just like that, she left the country for seven years.

It was because of Mu Yi. She didn't need to tell him, he knows her emotion was based on how Mu Yi treated her. Unfortunately, Mu Yi didn't realize how his littlest action could affect her. He didn't care for her when she left. Now Mu Yi is bombarding her with phone calls, moreover trying to find every excuse to see Anong?

"What does the bastard want from you?" Tang Liang tapped on other articles on the website. He knows Anong is dense at times, but she's not dense enough to not see that Mu Yi is trying to get close to her.

"I don't know, but I do know I want you to leave so I can go shower." I headed towards the bathroom. "Also, I'm not helping you get out of that blind date your mom set up."

"What? Why?" Tang Liang dropped the tablet on her bed. For the first time, Anong was unwilling to help him out of his mom's blind date set up. He scrambled up from her bed and grabbed her arm. "Please my great aunty! You're my last hope. Uncle won't help me after what happened last night. It's more like he'll give a hand in helping my mom!"

"Why?" I tried to release my arm from Tang Liang's tight grasp. Goddamn, he really wasn't letting go until I say yes. "Because it'll float to my mom's ear and she'll find me a blind date!"

Tang Liang stopped his whining for a brief second, coming to a realization it was likely to happen if she did help him, again.

"Nooooo, my great aunt. I'll help you when the time comes too," wailed Tang Liang. No matter what, he is going to make Anong help him out of this blind date.

"No!" I rejected his offer. He knows it's true, yet he still wants to lead me to the trap. "Let go or did you want me to drag you along?"

Tang Liang shook his head vigorously unwilling to let go of my arm. It was weird to see a full-grown man holding onto my arm acting a like a child. Tsk, he was like a kid holding onto a toy at the store and would not let go of it.

"Help your nephew number three!"

Ugh! I hate it when he uses this trump card against me. The only time he'll call himself my nephew number three was when he was really desperate.
