44 Marvelous Art Piece

"I still have something to do," I gave him a vague answer, shaking him off me. I have to return to the office tonight to finish up the rest of the presentation I have for Mu Yi tomorrow.

On the floor, I could see my paperwork for New Image peaking out from my handbag. Swiftly, I grabbed my belongings acting as natural as I can. Hopefully, Mu Yi did not see any big, bold letter stating New Image Plans.

"Let me take you back then," Mu Yi followed closely behind, grabbing hold of my handbag.

He didn't see it did he? Why would he grab my handbag all the sudden? I didn't let go of my purse, if I did, I know I'll never have the chance to leave. How scary, it's all your fault Tang Liang. Why did you have to choose the hotel Mu Yi is prone to appear. You should have known Mu Yi's friends come here a lot.

Immediately, I denied Mu Yi's offer, "It's fine, I drove my own car."

"I can follow you in my car," Mu Yi closed in the gap between us. "I want to see for myself you got home safe."

Right, more like you want to know where I'm at since I emptied out that apartment of mine.

After leaving Mu Yi's company, I sent a text to Amelia telling her to empty out my apartment as soon as possible. She was very efficient, everything got cleared out in less than two hours. I already knew beforehand the meeting Mu Yi was currently at was going to be longer than two hours. I didn't want anyone who was helping me with the apartment to encounter him. With the way he is, none of them were going to escape unless I show my face.

I am proud of myself for planning ahead. Mu Yi did show up later that night as predicted. Good thing I paid the manager a reasonable sum to keep his mouth shut.

Mu Yi narrowed his eyes in suspicious, "Are you hiding something from me?"

Yes.

Unless I was asking to die, I did not say that. Instead, I let out a nervous laugh, "Of course not. You're overthinking things."

Mu Yi had the 'I don't believe you' expression, "You're-"

"On second thought it's already getting late," I cut him off changing the topic towards his favor, "I'll just get myself a room."

I tried tugging my handbag out of Mu Yi's hand, but he didn't let loose. Sheesh, is he planning to steal my purse? In return, he smiled in approval of my decision. What is this bad feeling I am feeling?

"Ready?" Mu Yi held out his hand for me to take it.

Oh, those are the devil's hand, very tempting indeed.

"Give me a second," I rummaged through my handbag. "I believe I had one with me... Ah Hah!"

Tada, a black ballpoint pen!

Mu Yi gave me a 'what are you up to' look.

Hoho, don't worry you'll find out right about now.

Although to Mu Yi's ears, Anong's laughter was bright and joyful. He let her vent out her anger on Tang Liang without stopping her. Seems like Anong wasn't going to stop any time soon yet, so he decided he'll 'help' Tang Liang this time. Though he wouldn't consider this helping when Anong already did her deed.

"Anong, let's go get a room together."

"In a bit," she replied back. Either she was ignoring the last part of his sentence 'together,' or she did not hear it.

Mu Yi didn't wait for me to finish my marvelous art piece. Instead, he pulled the arm I held the pen in. It left a long black ink line from Tang Liang's forehead down to his nose. Eek! So ugly... Perfect!

"Ah..." Mu Yi realized what he had done. Seems like his attempt to help Tang Liang was actually assisting Anong in creating a bigger mess on his face.

"Don't bother feeling bad," I put in the finishing touches across Tang Liang's face. "Remember the man's voice who told me to 'hurry up'?"

Mu Yi's face darkened recalling the voice telling Anong to hurry up and to be gentler. He tried to forget about it every day since it happened. He wanted to act like it never happened when he saw her today.

Mu Yi told Anong he didn't care, but if he identified the man who spent the night with her. He doubts he'll be able to control himself.

"It was Tang Liang," I revealed without feeling guilty what so ever.

Mu Yi stayed silent before bending over to take the pen out of my hand, "You missed a spot, actually spots. Let me finish the rest."

In the end, Mu Yi and I spent quality time together for the first time in a long time, by drawing on Tang Liang's face. We didn't argue, and I didn't push him away. Surprisingly, we laughed together as we did back when we were kids.

Regretfully, Tang Liang ruined our artwork by smearing his face with his hands.

Eventually, we wrapped up our fun and made our way out of the room. I made sure to leave a note who was the culprit behind this masterpiece.

'Thud'

Without any warning, a loud bang was made against the door. It sounded like someone had accidentally rammed into it. Quickly, I opened the door to find a young man sitting on the floor shaking.
