The Kitsune Demon

Hinata flinched back when she heard about their first ȧssignment, she had been told by her father that thievery was wrong and not behavior fit for the heiress of the Hyuga clan. But the hesitation in her eyes quickly faded as she remembered the promise she made to Naruto and herself. Naruto had the exact opposite reaction and was quickly becoming excited at the thought of testing out his skills, their thoughts were interrupted when Xua cleared his throat to get their attention.

" For this ȧssignment, you will have two hours t to complete your task. You must steal one item each from the village below, if you are detected you have failed the task and must retreat immediately. The time starts now !"

Naruto quickly runs down the hill towards the village staying low to the ground using his tails as counterbalances. Hinata was right behind him but was delayed when she activated her Byakugan. The village was surrounded by a wooden wall 10 feet tall with 12 guards walking along the palisade, hugging the rough wood tightly Naruto and Hinata waited as the light from the guard's lantern passed over their heads. Quickly running over the wall Naruto and Hinata ran to the next shadow then stood still to make sure no one saw them.

When they were sure that no had seen them Naruto and Hinata went their separate ways each of them hiding in the shadows. From the hill, Naruto had seen around fifty houses with one of them, being much larger than the others. Moving in the shadows Naruto made his way to the large house, jumping the fence Naruto scaled the wall of the house leaping onto the roof of the house.

Locating the chimney that he saw from outside the gate, looking down the relatively clean brick structure Naruto shimmed his way down thanks to his small frame. Stepping out of the fireplace Naruto sent out a pulse of chakra not sensing anyone he relaxed, the next few minutes Naruto explored the building only finding the kitchen, the servant quarters, and the bathhouse. Then Naruto found a set of double doors that were inlaid with gold, turning the handle of one of the dark wooden doors Naruto entered the room without a sound. The floor was covered in a plush red carpet and bookshelf lined the walls and along the back wall, a dark wooden desk sat there.

Naruto quickly opened it many draws not finding anything but papers detailing the taxes and other village related matters. Then when he pulled on one draw it didn't budge, looking down he saw a small keyhole, grinning Naruto placed a single hand on the metal lock and suddenly the wood of the desk started to warp putting pressure onto the keyhole until Naruto heard a pop and let his hand drop. Using water and fire release he rapidly dried the wood then moistened it making the wood expand and contract in an uneven way destroying the lock.

Opening the drawer Naruto was confused when he only a sleek black book, flipping it over there were no words on the back. Opening it all the pages were blank, which only served to confuse Naruto even more. Naruto sat there when he heard a series of footsteps and quickly activated his chakra sonar, he let out a breath when he saw it was a servent coming pack from the bathroom. Just to make sure no one else was there Naruto sent out one more pulse, surprisingly he did there was a small chakra signature coming from the black book in his hand. Narrowing his eyes Naruto infused chakra into the book and he felt a source blocking him from doing so, pushing past the blockage the book released a cloud of smoke, and when the smoke cleared the black book was replaced by a much thicker red book.

Opening to the first page there was a message addressed to the owner of the house Lord Yuan, the message was in the form of a report that detailed the location, of several bandit camps that were under the control of a gang called the " Golden Knives ". Storing the book Naruto vacated the house, quickly making his way back to the hill were Hinata, Yua, Yue, and Xua stood waiting for him.
