The Kitsune Demon

Naruto and Hinata were running through the forest in silence, both of them brooding over their last interaction. Both Hinata and Naruto immediately rejected the idea, each second they got louder and louder, but Yua stopped their bickering with a sharp retort. In the end, Naruto and Hinata begrudgingly agreed to return to the village, not before creating a summoning contract between all of them and Yue. The rest of the morning was spent preparing for the daylong trip, wearing long hooded cloaks to conceal their figures moving about the trees. From Naruto's hood, a flash of white fur stood out against the still-dark morning. Yua had encouraged them to take Yue to the village as her abilities would help them.

The distance between them and the village quickly decreased, their training had pushed their young bodies to the limit. At a certain point in their seemingly mindless run, Naruto and Hinata suddenly stopped. Within the span of a second, the two kitsune were surrounded by leaf shinobi, " Don't try anything your completely surrounded, why are you traveling through trees instead of the road. " After Naruto and Hinata failed to respond to the shinobi captain the leaf ninja drew their weapons preparing for a fight, but they hesitated when they heard a childish voice speak up from one of the hooded figures. " Our trading caravan was raided by bandits, in the chaos, we escaped and are seeking refuge from the Hidden Leaf Village."

The captain raised an eyebrow at how well-spoken the boy was, based on his voice he couldn't be more than four or five years old. " That doesn't explain why you are traveling through the forest, however. And for someone your age and in your situation, you are surprisingly calm, " the captain commented. Not missing a beat Naruto nodded " As I said we escaped from a trade caravan, my father raised me to take over the family business. Since I was two I have been told to school my emotions The reason we are traveling through the trees is that we don't want to become an easy target for bandits as they have already taken so much. " The captain tilted his chin towards Hinata " Who's that with you " Naruto waved his hand nonchalantly, " A servent that I had the fortune escaping with "

Since their story made sense the captain along with two other shinobi accompanied Naruto and Hinata still wearing their cloaks to the Hokage's office. Naruto had informed the captain if he could talk to the Hokage about hiring the leaf village shinobi as an escort there might be a possibility that his family could go into a trading agreement. Thus the captain escorted them through the village, luckily it was still somewhat early for people to be up and out so they didn't draw that much attention. The trip there was silent as Naruto and Hinata realized that it's been a year since they've been inside the leaf village. When they closed in on the Hokages office one of the shinobi guarding Naruto and Hinata broke off from the group running ahead to inform the Hokage about what happened. When they entered through doors the guards quickly moved through halls arriving at a pair of doors that were very much familiar to Naruto. Opening the doors Naruto saw the third Hokage sitting at his desk with a pensive look on his face and sitting behind him was his first mentor, Kakashi Hatake.

" Please sit " Hiruzen motioned his hand towards the two empty chairs facing his desk, nodding his head towards the Hokage he relieved his legs of stress for the first time in hours. " Now I have been informed that you would like to hire the leaf shinobi for an escort mission. Sighing Naruto took off his hood revealing his face, " I'm sorry that we had to deceive, but this is the only way that we could get a meeting with you "
