The Last Abyssal, Tyrannical Pet

Chapter 90 - All By Myself

Yin Xi had become bored within the library.

This was nothing to be surprised about, since she couldn't read human languages, and even the beasts manuals were in the human language, usually only usable with direct soul impartation, so what was she supposed to do in a library?

But she didn't dare to explore other parts of the Divine Hall without Hades, as she knew that this place was crawling with humans.

So she waited. She went to look for Hades a few times, only to find him immersed in the bookshelf or reading a scroll.

Naturally, she wanted to talk to him, but the silence of the room was awkward to break, and he looked like he didn't want to be bothered.

Left with no choice, she took a nap in a corner of the library.

But that soon became the biggest of her life.

When she woke up, the room was just as silent as before, and nothing seemed different, so she just drowsily got up.

She went to see how Hades was doing, but he wasn't at his original spot. Thinking that he was just somewhere else, she searched around the entire library.

He was nowhere to be found.

It was impossible not to realize it.

She was alone.

Her heart palpitated and sweat quickly beaded her fur as she trembled violently. She laid on the ground nervously as her paws covered her head in distress.

"That damn brat! How could he just leave me here! Did he forget about me?! Where did he go?!" The silence was crippling, and she couldn't stand it anymore. She talked to herself loudly in her panic.

What was she to do? She only got here because of Hades, how could she escape alone unseen?

Maybe he would come back? He should remember she was here right? She attempted to comfort herself in futility. She knew that she had barely known Hades for a meager few days, she had no choice but to doubt him.

But her mother gave him a warning, right? He should at least remember that, right? If not, then he was with her a fool or impossibly arrogant, and didn't even put her mother in his eyes.

Then her ears perked up. She heard footsteps.

A human!

She was literally trapped in the middle of human territory, if she was caught, even if she was strong, she might suffer a fate worse than death!

She wanted to hide. No. She had to hide.

But her anxiety of being stranded in a hostile and unfamiliar place gave her extreme tunnel vision.

When she looked around, she could only see books, scrolls, and shelves. They seemed to surround her, warding any exit. As their peaks were up through the ceiling, the shelves only seemed to appear bigger, and felt like unsurpassable walls.

Then a blinding beam gleamed on her fur and eyes, making her flinch at the bright light.

"**** ******!" She heard some human gibberish, and squired to see a petrified human. He must've heard her ramblings

"***** ****!" He said something into what looked like the phone in Hades' host family's house. She understood that it was a communication device.

Her food stood on end. He was calling more humans!

Following her instincts, her fight or flight responses activated. She chose flight. As if she would dare challenge a human on their territory while they quite literally had near dozens of potential reinforcements in this region of the city alone.

Her body instinctively navigated itself to the nearest exit.

The ocean of script soon vanished and she ran out into a large hallway, where another human in the same clothes as the one before watched her with a gaping mouth.

She did not stop, and ran past him like a breeze of wind. She had buffed her speed with an ability of her technique.

She cultivated the7 Cycles Howling Moondance Gale, which focused on using the energies of wind and moon qi.

Soon many pairs of footsteps was heard in her sharp ears.

With her speed, buffed by wind, was comparable to an average Revolving Core cultivator. None of the humans could keep up.

Despite this, she grew increasingly nervous at the infinitely increasing of the horde of humans.

She soon started to hear a loud noise blaring throughout the building, a clear signal for an intruder.

Her eyes constantly swept the sides of the place she was in, looking for an exit.

She soon saw a window similar to the one that she and Hades arrived through.

Despite this, her anxiety only grew, as even if she left the building, where would she run? The streets were full of humans.

But left with no choice due her many pursuers, who were not romantic in any way, she hurtled through the window.

It easily shattered and she soon arrived outside.

She made her move quickly and leapt into the skies, where her feet seemed to be stepping on invisible platforms.

The early risers and guards saw the sight of a silver wolf walking on air and gasped in shock. It wasn't a common sight, as such a beautiful beast wasn't often found in this minor city.

She hoped to lose the followers quickly and then find somewhere to hide, as sky walking was an incredibly draining process.

After sky walking across the starry sky beneath the bright moon for several minutes, her qi began to wane.

She quickly landed in a place that seemed slightly more secluded. She had to conserve her energy in case of emergencies after all.

Her real problem though was, she didn't know the way back. The uncountable, unfamiliar smells and sights sent her senses in chaos, and everything started to look the same. Her internal compass became near useless.

She could only wait to recover some qi so she could get a birds eye view of her location.

She watched the sun start to rise in the distance.

As of now, she walked the streets of the city with no one to rely on but herself.
