The Little Calamity

Chapter 19 - Heavenly tribulation

In the real world time flowed differently from the trial. Although Rayne felt like he was in there for 5 days in reality it had only been 5 minutes, at first some though that his white aura meant that he was an incredible talent but when it suddenly turned pink people realized that he was a joke.

Even if the lower talent trial were easier they still had a high difficulty spike. Maybe he would be able to get pass the second trial but the third one was nearly impossible, there was barely any record of someone passing it but even if he could he would still be a blue talent, under the average.

Barely a few seconds later Rayne's aura turned yellow, showing that even if didn't have talent he had skill. Still, there was only so much skill could achieve, a lot of people left, knowing that he wouldn't do much more.

Everything was fine up to this point but the aura suddenly turned blood red, jumping tiers of talent. Not only that, black clouds gathered in the sky while Rayne started moving.

" He triggered an heavenly tribulation!"

The few that were left were scared, what could someone do to achieve what he just did? Then they noticed that Rayne still had the aura around him, signaling that he was still in the trial even though his body moved.

" Is he even human? What is happening?"

The black cloud soon released a thunder strike, it was quite small but thunder was one of the most fearsome element. Rayne was ready to endure the pain but instead of trying to harm his body it directly went for his mind, trying to test his willpower. He easily shrugged it off, relaxing a lot. He was confident on his mental.

The second bolt was much bigger but just like the other one it tried to go after his mind rather than his body, he didn't even feel anything which proved that his confidence wasn't baseless. For the third bolt the cloud gathered together and disappeared at the same time as the lightning went for Rayne, as if the clouds themselves became electricity.

A few goodhearted people released a sigh of relief as the giant thunder bolt hit Rayne, the result were instantaneous as he didn't even flinch.

" He was lucky that it was only a minor tribulation, still he endured it like it was nothing."

Seeing that the danger was gone Rayne glanced at Arisa only to find her with her eyes closed, her body looked limp.

' Is she helping me?'

Since she was still touching the circle that was the only think he could think of. He immediately went back to the world of the trial.

….....

While he endured the thunder Rayne was still doing the trials, the reason why time in here passed so quickly was because his perception of time had been warped. Luckily for him splitting his conscience like this canceled this effect so he didn't have do the trial at 100 time the normal speed.

He was currently in the middle of a medieval city where a endless number of knights were running at him. His objective this time was survival, he could hide or run away but right now he was walking leisurely in the middle of the giant group.

He was evading every blade without wasting any energy and each time his hand moved he would either deflect a blade or pierce a hole in a knight's throat, either way someone died. Seeing that the endless wave tactic didn't work the knights tried to rush him in a circle formation, leaving nowhere to dodge.

' Naive.'

He jumped and with a swept of his leg he beheaded every knight that was in the circle before picking up a headless knight that he threw to open up a path.

' If there is soldier there is a leader, in case of knights it's probably a king. If I kill him maybe I can pass a few steps of the second trial.'

He was thinking that a change of scenery meant an upgrade in his talent, that's why he was aiming directly for the boss. Another wave of knights tried to attack him, this time they had spears to prevent him from jumping.

' Do they really have the same level of adaptability as humans? For such a quick response someone must be manipulating this place.'

Even if it was the case he didn't really care, he dropped on the ground, kicking the few swords that managed to react, it wasn't enough to disarm the soldiers however when they bounced up it caused a mess with the dozens of other weapon, all of the soldiers ended up tangled together and with another kick Rayne caused all of their weapons to explode under the pressure, sending steel shards flying everywhere.

Just like a bomb it killed everyone around, even Rayne was injured, luckily his body had a high defense.

' I can't let them surround me again.'

He focused a bit more, quickly finding when they entered their formation and pierced the heart of the center knight, ignoring his armor which was a mistake, entering was easy but his hand got stuck on the steel, surrounded by a sharp borders.

' Armor are hard to deal with, I can only aim for gap and the only spot that can kill is the throat.'

He didn't hesitate to sacrifice his hand, he forced it out causing deep cuts all over it but he managed to dodge the torrent of blades that was coming toward him before kicking the body of the man he just killed to open another path.

' I don't know how quick I will heal in this place, I can't suffer wounds like that or I will die.'

His real body healed at a visible rate but he quickly found out that it wasn't the case here. His hand was still bleeding however the wound that he got from the boar was gone.

' You heal on each trial, I see.'

He stopped using his wounded hand, this time he picked up the pace. If he lost too much blood the trial might register it as a loss. Heads flew everywhere as he was heading toward the castle, he didn't even give them the time to enter formations.

It was a true bloodbath but it was what Rayne had the most experience with, he was like a calamity for this imaginary kingdom.
